[Q] How do I? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

How do you get the app to pick up with my xbox one. I did it before but I bought the license in order to get more than just 30 mons of streaming. Now that I bought the license I can't even connect to my xbox arty all anymore. How do I very it to stream again, or did I make a mistake buying this app.

[Q] Anyone know if there is a way to use NBA league pass from phone to tv?

I'm wondering if I order it can I use the hdmi output to put it on my tv. If I order the mobile version I imagine it won't let me sign on with my laptop since that subscription costs more than twice as much.

My Xbox music and Zune surprise

I was lucky enough to get a free year of Xbox Music pass when I got my Surface on launch day. When I got my 920 I decided to activate it. Haven't used Zune music pass since I got my Focus back on day one. I was thinking about removing Zune on my Windows 8 laptop but I noticed it had 10 credits. I closed it and went to Xbox Music app but no mention. So I guess it remembers me from before and since I didn't opt for the change back then I am now getting 10 credits. I then had trouble deciding what to buy. So I used 8 of them. Downloaded and within minutes they also showed up on my 920 and Surface. Finally a positive experience.
As I leave my laptop on the rest of my music is synching to cloud. Only thing I haven't read is if they are reading songs like Apple or uploading music like Google.
it's more like the matching that apple does. they are supposed to implement an upload solution for songs that aren't matched, but that is slated to go live in 2013 sometime.
also, keep in mind the pass you got with the surface is for the new xbox music pass, which has no free credits. i was still on the old plan and decided to cancel it to use the free year instead, if you try to use that code with your old account still active it will error out, you have to let the plan lapse or cancel it to be able to utilize the code.

I haven't had a zune pass or xbox pass in almost two years. That is why I was surprised when I used the free 1 year card I got with my surface. I know Xbox Music pass doesn't come with credits but for whatever reason Zune is seeing it.
that's odd, but hey, it works out in your favor!

[Q] Anyone have a wifi hard drive solution?

I'm looking for something that will let me access all my music and movies from my nexus 10. Something that won't need any PC set up our access. I gave my laptop to my girlfriend and use my nexus 10 and galaxy nexus exclusively. I bought a GoFlex 3TB Home yesterday thinking that I could plug it in to my router and a ton of storage fit music and movies. I returned today because after a day of trying to set it up I could not get anything close to a smooth experience. It took me half the day just to register it with seagates servers (the drive is unusable until registered) and the go flex android app is a joke.
Does anyone have a Wi-Fi hard drive set up that doesn't go through a PC? I thought about picking up a go flex satellite but after the goflex home I have no faith in seagates system.

I was looking at these. They have a bridged mode as well so you can maintain the Internet connection.

I just picked up one of the Kingston 64gb with drives. Really liking it so far and have had a good experience streaming movies from it, not a ton of storage but would recommend. I got it mainly for traveling with the kids for them to watch movies.
My router has some sort of DLNA thing and a USB port; not entirely sure if it would be usable for storage though, but it should be fine for media streaming.
I use BubbleUPnP to stream media from my PCs to my nexus 10. Its available in the Google Play Store

I picked up the seagate goflex satellite for $100 during the holidays. Stock, It's definitely hindered by the lousy software/firmware, but you can replace it, either on your own or for $35 you can get a package from www.hackseagatesatellite.com. Essentially, you are installing a linux server system on it. You can run SMB, webDav, FTP, iTunes server, or DLNA system. Multiple devices can also stream from it simultaneously.
I haven't tried it, but it also has dropbox and eyefi integration.
The hardware is not fast enough to stream a 30 gb 1080p mkv file. But if you transcode it with handbrake to a reasonable size, it streams well with only an occasional stutter with the stock player.
If you use BS player in LAN mode, and set the buffer to large, It plays the entire 1080p movie without any hiccups or pauses. (Avatar plays beautifully. I am also undervolted and underclocked with the KTmanta kernel)
I'm not quite sure if this would fit your situation but try using a NAS (Network Attached Storage). Then just find an app on the play store that supports streaming from one and viola! You can even take it a step further and download movies onto your N10, then transfer them to the NAS, allowing anyone with access to view/stream content.
I know Newegg has a dedicated section for NAS setups, but I'd consider buying a NAS enabled hard drive bay and tossing in a few old drives. Upgrade-ability + Customization :good:
An additional bonus to using NAS is you do not need a router that supports it in comparison to DLNA /USB support.
I would agree with this, I have the same setup - using an old version of Dlink's DNS-323.

Possible Remote Access with MK808 and PogoPlug

Hello all...
I recently bought a MK808 for $40, yet to receive it though...
I also bought a Pogoplug for $14, also has not arrived yet (this model Pogoplug is capable of being hacked to run Linux Arch, if that matters)...
I know you can get the Pogoplug Premium Software for $15-30, and it will allow you to register one computer/device (including androids) that can access your pogoplug drives from a remote location (even another state/country)...
So my question is, could I buy and install the Premium PogoPlug Software on my MK808, then carry it with me, theoretically traveling daily with remote access to my 4TB media collection from anywhere with an internet connection??? Wanted some opinions before I fork over the money for the Pogo Software...
Could not find anything on google regarding this... If this would work, it would be a pretty cheap way to do something pretty cool...
I have a Pogoglug server at home. I replaced the Pogoplug firmware with an Arch Linux Arm distribution. This gives me access to files for free using SFTP, SCP, etc. This requires a lot of work to set up, but once you do it, you have a lot of other possibilities.

A few questions about using the Nexus player as a cable box

Hi all,
Since the price of the Nexus player has dropped considerably, I'm thinking I may get one + a HD Homerun prime for my father for Christmas, but I have a few questions. I already have a Nvidia Shield TV, so I know how Android TV works and it's limitations. The only thing I haven't done is use the live TV apps for watching TV on it.
Is watching TV on it using a HD Homerun prime pretty painless once configured? I should note that we live in Oregon and the cable provider here is Comcast. In terms of channels, he really doesn't watch much (mostly Fox News, ESPN, HBO, and local channels). The big one that is a MUST though is Pac-12 network - my sister plays softball for the University of Washington and Pac-12 network is necessary to watch all the games we can't make it to. My understanding is that DRM channels won't work with the live TV app - is there any other way to view them on the device? I should also note that DVR functionality isn't a must have feature if it's a pain to get it working.
I'm not worried about it being too tech heavy for my dad to use - he's already got Ethernet running throughout the house (this device would be connected via Ethernet) and has done OTA TV before using Windows Media Center & my Xbox 360. However, if it isn't more seamless to browse and watch TV on than his cablebox, I'm not sure he'll actually want to make the change.
