Chromecast and LG G2, we have a problem! - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there, xdadevelopers, this is my first post here and I need some help if possible.
Here's my case:
I've been using Chromecast at home since Google release, always using my unlocked LG G2 to control it and without any issue...
But one month ago I began to suffer constant disconnections between my cellphone and both of my two Chromecasts. I can connect correctly with them, and I can use any compatible app to cast videos, movies or whatelse I want, but after ten or twenty seconds more or less my LG G2 "silently" losses Chromecast connection: I mean, there are no errors shown or no video/movie issues because it continues running, and if I want to stop or pause it I must re-connect my phone with Chromecast again.
As I said, I use two Chromcasts at home and this issue happens with both of them. I have also tried to use my wife's phone to control the devices (and it's not a LG G2) and I didn't notice disconnections, so it seems to be my LG G2 the main problem.
By the way, the android version installed is 4.4.2 (the last available here until Lollipop comes out), and i'm using LG's stock rom.
Is there anyone here with my same problem?

[Q] LG G2 gmail a

Hi,
My G2 (European) was recently updated to Kitkat and I am not sure if immediately after update it started to have this issue or its unrelated. Nevertheless, now if I try to open any file attached to a gmail message, I just get a black screen.
My friend has LG L9 II and just started to have the same problem a day ago. (He doesnt know if he has Kitkat or not.)
Any hints, what causes it?
Also, after Kitkat the phone started to freeze sometimes, it never did before. And of course, it wont play any more embedded Flash objects.
I am through already 10 smartphones at least, but NEVER had a single happy op.system update... unfortunately the G2 got also to be a worse phone than it was before.

Hello all. I was a member of this site between the times of the tmobile dash-note 2 eras and i havent done much modding since. I may have to start back after getting this phone. I recently upgraded from the LG g2 and besides the better hardware it seems that the software is a downgrade in terms of over customization and getting the most out of this hardware. I just want to know if there's a way to fix any of these problems or if I should root and if so what should I go with..
1. Get front flash to work while video chatting or to use phone as lighted mirror;without having to record video. ( I always visualized an ad of a chick using the moto x as a mirror or a soldier video chatting his family in a poorly lit space)
2. Pair multiple Bluetooth devices. My LG g2 could pair my pebble time steel and two other devices. One could be paired to play media and the other would be set for calls only and they were remembered.
3. Custom alarm tones. I thought the pure meant that there wouldn't be any restrictions and everything would be customizable like the good windows phones.
I'm sure these problems have been solved but I couldn't find it by searching the forums so maybe someone could point me to the best mod for this phone please?

Bluetooth problems, audio & Android Wear

Anyone else having problems with bluetooth on the Moto X Pure? I'm using a Verizon SIM, on 6.0 with the February 2016 patch, fully stock (although using Nova). Having to constantly power off and back the phone to get bluetooth to work with audio in mine and my wife's car (audio cutting in and out, skipping, jumbling), and with Android Wear, constant disconnects (and this is my second android wear device).
Just wondering if this is pandemic or worth wiping and giving it a fresh load. Thanks!

I sometimes have issues reconnecting to my bluetooth headset (fixed by repairing) but no issues when it is connected. And I have a moto 360 always connected that has no disconnection problems. I would go with a factory reset!

I know this is several weeks old, but yes I have this issue, and have done everything imaginable to get rid of it, to no avail.
My phone pretty reliably connects to my 360 (or, currently, Pebble), but is almost useless in my car. Fine for phone calls, but audio works 1 time out of 5 at best, otherwise it just does thta jumpy skip thing.
I initially thought it was because of Android Wear -- connecting to the watch was using too much bandwidth and interfering with the ability to talk stream audio -- but a) it's ONLY aproblem in my car (and my wife's car, so it's not JUST my car), never to, like, a standalone bluetooth speaker, and b) I completely wiped my phone and didn't install Android Wear or pear with a watch at all, and the problem resurfaced. A clean wipe almost always results in reliable bluetooth for 2 or 3 days, and then it gets jumpy, which HAS to be a clue (some state or buffer being corrupted / filled?) but I haven't been able to figure out what it's clueing me into.
This thread dives into the potential Android Wear connection, but no real solution.
If anyone who HAS experienced this figures out a solution, I'd really love to hear it.
Not sure if this applies. However, I experienced this EXACT problem when streaming music over bluetooth. This problem only happened AFTER I made or received a call. Reboot is the only cure. This is with 6.0 stock with Feb update. I tried 2 phones with the same problem. Both were new out of the box. This FW is obviously defective. I'm not sure why others aren't reporting this issue. My search for a phone continues....

I can usually toggle off Bluetooth then back on and it's okay, but sometimes it does require a restart. SUPER frustrating when you're driving! I'm glad I'm not the only one, I just wish we'd get more info on this and maybe someday a patch.

Miracast not working

Hello
Newb here. Miracast on lg v20 no longer works.
I was casting to non-smart tv with screenbeam2. It worked great for 2 weeks then...once my v20 said connected screen on tv goes black. Returned screenbeam2 2x tried on new in store tv, Same results. V20 says connected with black screen on tv. Miracast no longer works. I did factory reset and no casting apps on phone.
How can I fix this?

My LG V20 started going to a black screen and I'm wondering if it was the update that installed earlier this week.
I just updated my phone and now it won't screen share to my TV.

I am having this problem.
Miracast not working after V20 update
The lastest update makes my screen go black when Miracasting. I called Lg and screenbeam, Lg saying a fix is coming soon. No time frame was given. It has worked twice since the update just by dumb luck. Im pretty pissed because this is how I watch tv. Who quality controls these updates forced upon us.
Same here....updated to V10h-TWN-XX my h990ds and miracast doesn't work anymore to my Sharp TV. It is detected and get connected to TV but TV shows black screen (also for me it worked by luck just for few seconds). On previous firmware release it was working perfectly!....Hope LG fixes the bug soon!!!
Thanks God. I thought i'm the only one who suffered this. So, LG promise to fix this issue right? it's frustrating, i use miracast almost everyday
I recently installed the november security patch update. Does the update that cause this issue? Bcs it was working fine before i updated.
Yes the update causes it. I have noticed if a enable the hdmi controls and connect to miracast while viewing another input, I have had luck getting it connected. Some days it takes several tries and other day it connects right away. To enable hdmi controls you must do it from the screenbeam configure app.
This is going into the third week of this bull****. I suggest everyone call Lg and keep applying pressure. Go unto there facebook and twitter pages and complain. Im demanding another phone if thos continues pass Thanksgiving.

I have been having same issue as well. Contacted lg and was informed I needed to send in my phone for servicing. Explained I'm not the only one experiencing this problem and forwarded this link to lg. The lg rep said she would escalate the information to the proper people. Hope it helps.
Loaded new system update this morning. Happily surprised screen sharing works one again.

Was this an official OTA update? My H990ds however still shows no newer version available, miracast not working.
The system update I received for my V20 is #VS99518A. Hope this helps.

And yes, it was an official OTA update.
Mine didn't worked also just installed new system update version 18A and miracast work flawlessly again.
I think the issue is not with lG. I am able to connect my assus Zen phone max and MI A1 both. The issue with OP5. miracast connects for a second and disconnects immediately I get a pin number displayed in the Tv asking me to input it in the device but there no option as such in the device.

Screen sharing issue

I am having an issue with screen sharing. It has always worked before today. Right now, when i screen share I get a black screen on both of my smart tvs. If i am playing a video I can still hear the sound. Also, if i share to my tv through youtube it works fine. If i share to my tv through the stock gallery app it also displays a picture. If i share to my tv using the stock video app it also displays fine. The issue only occurs when I use the screen sharing app itself to mirror the phone to the tv.
I have tried restarting the phone, pulling the battery, restarting the tvs, pulling the power wire for tvs from wall and restarting tv that way and I also tried restarting my router. I cannot figure this out and was wondering if anyone else has run into this issue and maybe has a fix. Thanks in advance.
Also, my phone is completely stock.
Did you install a security update from Verizon recently? I have an Lg v20 and am having a similar problem.
Sorry, hadn't had anyone reply to the thread so figured it was a lost cause. Im on at&t and yes I do remember getting a security update prior to this occuring. Still havent found a solution.
There seems to be a problem with the latest update for the 990DS as well .

Its odd that there hasnt been more people with this same issue. Im inclined to say its an issue with the last security update because theres 3 of us with similar situations. Just wish there was more info anywhere on the web about it. Either the 3 of us are experiencing an isolated issue or nobody uses screen share.
Just got another security update now. Tried the screen share and sure enough it is working once again.

I happen to have two v20’s and one will screen share at full screen and one screen shares at 4x3 with black bars in the sides. Is there a way to fix this nd screen share so it uses the full screen?
LG v20
When screen mirroring apps to my Samsung TV everything all good until I stream netflix, hbomax, espn & tnt. I get no picture/video, only audio and subtitles. Any solution?
I don't recall doing an update and this LG v20 is on T-Mobile network.
