(Q) Cm 11/AOSP after 4.4.2 bootloader update

Does anyone know, is it possible to flash a Cm 11 type rom, after we have upgraded to the Samsung 4.4.2 firmware with the new bootloader?
Are we able to flash the currently available roms, or do we need to wait for them to make changes to the kernel etc
Many thanks in advance

Cannot flash CM roms currently due to them being based on MJ7 bootloader. Need to wait to see *if* they update for new bootloader.. but seems unlikely at the mo.

Also will i be able to revert back to the UK firmware once it has been released?

yes you have to get bootloader and when uk comes out you might have to flash again with odin

heres the update if you want to do it
but you cant go back to 4.3 and ive read 4.4.2 is a bit buggy
Maybe that's why they haven't rolled it out in other countries yet, I will probably just wait then because I use my note 3 as my daily driver so I'd rather it was 100%

same for me,only thing that don't work is sky sports mobile
there is no need to install a different bootloader
I chose the Spotify package and can confirm that it works fine. .when I first flashed I had a Samsung keyboard issue, but did a full factory reset and it's gone now..also rooted and cwm recovery installed with no issues..

I have a note 3 locked to 3 carrier..if I download the leaked update and flash it using Odin (my fone is not rooted) will it cause any problems?
Since my fone is carrier locked and 3 haven't pushed an update yet.
Thanks in advance
P.s I'm a total noon at flashing so sorry in advance for dumb questions.

I think it is not a 100% safe thing to try to update a carrier-locked Note3 - given that you also do not have a lot of experience I would suggest waiting a little more (and in the meantime reading in the many threads around and searching for somobody else with a carrier-locked Note 3 from the same 3 UK carrier).
You can get a free unlock code from three, got mine installed polish kit kat no problems.

Just to mention that some 3rd party apps still require updates from developers to work on 4.4 so if you don't mind waiting a month or two this should also give them time too.
So if I get it unlocked, then its OK to flash the official update?
Basically I just want yo know the effect of flashing an official ROM on a carrier locked fone.
Yeah I've been reading the threads so I know how to flash it using Odin.just wanted to know will it be OK or will my fone go KU-KU
Sorry if I'm eating your brains

You can flash even if it's network locked. It will stay network locked... But won't be a problem. You can also get your phone unlocked free from three.

You will loose root unless you use mobile odin with the keep root feature, and boot into download, then flash the bootloader. I don't think there's a de la vega style root on 4.4.

[Q] upgrade quest

hi,
I have an unlocked SGH-I337 with Android 4.2.2 I337UCUAMDL root and revocery,
if I upgrade to version 4.4.2, I lose the unlock??
thanks
Yes you will, if you want to be able to flash roms I recommend that you do not take the update
Sent from my Nexus 5
why not just run a 4.4.2 custom rom like
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2313469
it runs great for me--there are others also
nandroid first a usual in case a restore is needed--:good:
i prefer twrp 2.5.0.2 myself

It's good to know that I won't lose my SIM unlock, I had been worried that it would cause problems for the person I sold my s4 to, it's nice to know I didn't screw them over (T-Mobile user).

Identify note three

Hello. I bought n9005 n its running on a custom rom I think its rooted n twrp is installed. I am unable to understand what version is it exactly n9005 or n900t I am using it in Pakistan. Can someone sugest me what fw will be suitable for this phone? Screen shots from phone infi are attached

Its not the N9005... Download Phone info app from play store to see all things...
I think your phone is N900T originally, but it has been flashed with the N9005-base custom rom.
I posted these screen shots from phone info. I also think it is sm-900t. I can use local sim here which means it unlocked. Will flashing other custom roms have effect on carier lock? I actually have never came across any carier locked device so asking noob questions
