[Q] Mahdi ROM 2.9 bad sound quality - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys!
After i installed the rom, I've found that when I listen to music and the volume is at max level, the sound is at bad quality, having distortion.
I tried tweaking the sound with ViperFX, and same problem.
I even installed the googymax kernel to reduce some sound gain, and even when that is under default, the distortion is present.
I would apreciate if you could help me with this problem! Have a nice day.

i am using one of m-deejay's build, and it works very fine except for this small issue.
compared to winmo, the sound on android seems to be very low, both in-call and system
well, for in-call low sound, i turn speaker on and off and the sound becomes high.
but for system, what should i do to increase the sound clarity and volume

[Q] Handset Speak Distortion

I hope this hasn't already be posted, I looked hard.
I've recently upgraded to the official 2.2 release, then replaced the kernel with the vodoo kernel to address the lag issue. Now when I use the handset for calls the callers voice is distorted. There is a tinny rattling like sound. Kind of the distortion you hear in the low bass range when your stereo is to loud, but this is distortion in the higher ranger, not low bass sounds. Happens at any volume level.
This doesn't happen when using the speakerphone, or ear piece, just the normal ear speak in the handset.
I'm looks through the Service Menu->Sound->Handset options but not really sure what all the setting ares.
Any help would be very much appreciated?
Thanks
John
I would flash one of the custom kernels or....... you could try galaxy tuner it allows to to equalize the sound. Worth a try
Me, I would just get one of the great roms already out there

[Q] Amplifier

I have CM7 with Netarchy's kernel, which has the voodoo patch. Is that sufficient for providing the best sound for my headphones or will an amplifier improve the sound even more?
Just try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1019565
Works perfect for me...
That seems like it just increases volume, I want something that can improve bass, soundstage, etc.
It has that all, you can increase volume, bass, set up the EQ settings...
Just tried it out, it seems to distort my music.

Help fixing CM 13 Audio problem(noise in the background)

Hi I've installed a CM13 based ROM on my D805 and sound quality is terrible.
I managed to fix the low volume bug and now it sounds loud enough!
The main problem is the noise. There's an extreme hiss noise in the background (especially in low volumes) which is very annoying while listening to music with low volumes.
I've tried installing V4A and AudioFX but no help.
I've also replaced the mixer paths with stock mixer paths but still no difference.
So is there anyway to fix this problem?
I would be very pleased if you could help me solve this issue!:highfive:

[QUESTION] Sound fix for low/unstable sound Android 10 Custom ROMs (on headset only)

English is not my primary language but I hope you will get the message.
Any custom ROMs I tried have this issue on Call of Duty Mobile and PUBGM game.
The sound is great for listening music on Youtube, but for these games the sound is very low and unstable (sometimes disappeared).
I can fix this by deleting QRD_Headset_cal.acdb file (which is the culprit) but if I delete this file I will hear low static sound in backgroud whenever any sounds playing.
These are the custom Android 10 ROMs I tried:
-Pixel Experience
-ionOS
-Lineage-X/17.1
-PixysOS
-HavocOS
I want to try other ROMs but I afraid they will have same this sound mods.
Is there any fix or patch for this issue?

Click to collapse
After deleting that file
Set negative earphone gain from kernel auditor or zenparts.
Also facing the same in Resurrection Remix Rom. Badly need that Zenphone parts where we could change the mic gain but the rom lacks it. Lets see if I can change with kernal auditor.
Installing v4a 2.7 seems to fix most audio/mic related problems for me...
