A bit of a noob question: I've read about Xposed that if you would install it on Lollipop, you would automatically switch back from ART to Dalvik. Now I updated to Lollipop by a dirty flash and forgot to first uninstall Xposed. How do I know if I still use ART?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_Runtime
If you're running Android 5.0.x, you have only one runtime, and that's ART. Dalvik was totally removed.
Ok, so that was a bull**** story I heard. Thx man

Not a BS story at all. In Android 4.4.2, both ART and Dalvik were available, though ART was only for testing and development. If you tried using Xposed while on ART it would revert to Dalvik as Xposed didn't work on ART at that time.

ive recently updated to kitkat. but i keep getting com.google.process.gapps stopped working and google play services has stoped working and i cant connect to any google account. plz help me!!
You need to wipe dalvik and cache and flash gapps specifically for android 4.4
Or you can factory reset and reflash rom and gapps 4.4

Hi guys sorry if the thread already post before. My nexus has 4.4.2 rooted and already install twrp. I play game a lot on my nexus 7. But after upgrading to newest ota feel so lag when i try to play shadow gun dead zone. Is there any way how to fix it. I thought it was my wifi problem but when i switch to my old motorola phone it works like a charm.
Thanks in advance

Go into recovery and wipe dalvik and cache.
If that doesn't work, a backup of your apps to your pc hard drive and then a factory reset usually helps, but do the dalvik wipe first so you don't have to reinstall your apps and see if that works first.

Thanks i will try to wipe it first and see if this work.

But did the flash do a wipe of everything? If so, that's probably why. I'm on stock 4.4.2 and I don't have lag.

My nexus had a soft brick before when i update to ota and thats give me nightmare. So what would you suggest, do i have to wipe again dalvik, data system? Sorry for noob question but the lag just still there after on day flash from the rom.

Interesting discovery. All the research I've done on this issue points to the phone using ART. I checked the setting and my phone says it's using dalvik. So I figured maybe I can just try switching it to ART then switching it back. So I switched the setting to ART then reboot the phone, after it came back on I went to that setting and it still says dalvik. I tried it a couple times with the same result. It must be related to our issue somehow, just not sure why or how to fix it.

Afaik root breaks private mode. Same thing happened to people who used cfroot.

It looks like it's just the framework that breaks it. When I uninstall the framework it starts working again. I guess no xposed if we want private mode. [emoji20]

Is there a tweak in framework to be done to achieve private mode again? A module that I don't know of?

When xposed installer is installed on our device private mode breaks. Only option to fix this is to disable and uninstall all molecules and uninstall exposed. I have the sprint varient and this was the only fix. If a custom rom has native mods then I think it shoudl work but as of right now I dont think theres a fix with private mode and xposed installer yet.

Xposed will not run in ART. It will automatically toggle your runtime back to Dalvik if it is installed. This is by design.

I'm trying to change my Runtime environment in dev options but when it asks me to reboot, jt goes back to dalvik every time instead of staying on ART. Anybody know why?

I had the same problem, it was 'cause I had Xposed framework installed, it doesn't support ART runtime, if you have xposed try to uninstall it and try again

Ahh damn. Im not willing to give up xposed for art! Hope xposed becomes art compatible soon enough
Thanks for that

Hello there,
Last night I have upgraded my Galaxy S4 (GT-i9500) to Lollipop using Samsung official Lollipop 5.0.1 ROM (Russia Release) . As usual there is no option under developer option to check if its using Dalvic or ART. Does anyone know how to check my phone running on Dalvic or ART ? or is it like all lollipop ROMs are ART based ?
Cheers,
KiK
Lollipops are only ART.
