Hello over the pass few days I have flashed the Android Nand Rom on my HTC HD2 T-mobile USA device. Now I would like to know if there is any way I can change the icons on my device?
When I had the CHT before Android I use to use icon changer and Csmi
which work GREAT is there a way for me to do the same with this build of Android?
I hear people talking about Rooting there devices but I don't fully understand this process do I need to Root to be able to customize my devices know? If rooting my device is what I need to do to accomplish customizing my icons please tell me how to do this and post any helpful links to download any files needed to complete the process.
Any help would be great at this point thanks so much you guys are the best
Most rom here are rooted, if not there is z4root.
Even it's rooted, it is not easy to change the icon like wm 6.5, you have to modify the apk file, but you can change the short cut icon easily (the icon that show on desktop, not the icon shows in app drawer)
Flashing MIUI ROM, that only easy way to change the icon in apps drawer that I knew, it change the icons thru theming, and you can modify the theme.

Hello yes I just found out I had Super User on my device but I still don't know how to use it. What is the apps drawer? and how do I go about changing the short cut icons. what and how to change the modify the apk fille also. sorry for all the questions. Thanks so much for your help
Use BetterCut or Folder Organizer can change the icon on your home screen but not in apps drawer.
I'm sure you don't want to use modify apk rout to change icon.
The easy way is flashing MIUI ROM.
Below is example of application drawer.
m using mdj cyanogenmod 7 v2.6...how do i check whether my phone is rooted or not..??
Open up a terminal app ('terminal emulator' on market for example) and type:
su
If you don't get any error msg'es, you're rooted.
Search for LauchnerPro (my fav.) or ADW Lauchner to get the possibility to easy change dock icons or shortcuts on homescreen.
if you want to change the icons shown in the app drawer you have to use e.g bettercut.
First off what an awesome ROM! Just rooted my new S4 and love everything.
However, while playing around with the multi-screen function I noticed that no apps and be added. After seeing the update to the Samsung multi screen app in the ROM updater, I attempted the update but still cant add apps to the menu. Is this how it should be or am I missing a step?
Go to system settings/ my device/ multi window and enable the apps you want to use. Then you can add them to the window.

This Requires ROOT ACCESS.
It works on 4.2.2 Jellybean as well as 4.4.2 OMNI ROM.
You Need to download these 3 apks :
1. Xposed Installer
2. Halo))) - (Modded)
Note: Halo from playstore won't work on xoom.
3. XHalo Floating Windows
Also I would like to thank XPOSED, XHalo Floating windows and Halo developer.
All thanks to xposed framework.
Thanks to all these developers and threads.
Thanks to TheAndroidCop.com for tutorial
Here are the threads if you need :
Xposed Installer, Halo)))
XHALO Floating Windows
Watch the video below to understand better :
Detailed Explanation :
1. Download All 3 files and install Xposed Installer on your android device. Open Xposed Installer and Tap ‘install’ in framework section. Reboot the Device and open Xposed again and go to the modules section. Enable ‘tick’ on XHalo Floating window.
2. Install Halo))) and Xhalo Floating windows, Open Xhalo Floating Window App. If you want to change the Settings you can , or just skip the settings for now as you can always change them later! Reboot the device again.
3. Open halo and Tap ‘Pin’ and Select apps that you want to open in floating windows, after you’re done with choosing the apps then Tap ‘Start’ and you will see all selected apps in notification bar. Now just drag down the notification bar and tap on the app name to open!
VOILA!!! You have successfully installed X Floating windows and Halo))) on your motorola xoom , you can now multitask simultaneously!

Me neither. But using Floating Notification from Google Play instead of Halo))) can do. It has more options I think. However, i found it less comfortable in Omni KK compared to when I used it with CM 10.1. A bit buggy even. I don't know if it is system issue or app issue but I will try using it with CM 11. If it goes better there, I might stay with CM

Having the same problem. After looking in to it further and reading the XHalofloatingWindow compatiblity notes, it states it not compatible with OmniRom.

The screenshot i posted above was taken on assefmod v5 stable 2 (4.2.2 Jellybean)
here is the screenshot of it working on 4.4.2 OmniROM (Bigpart)
Instead of the Halo))) Apk from Halo thread i use this apk Here
Also i dont use floating notification app. I just used halo + xhalo floating windows.
After enabling xhalo from exposed you must reboot your device, or atleast soft reboot.

Only 1 window is opened at a time. you must drag it to the other place then you must open other app but before that go to Xhalo app>>Pop up behaviour >> Tick 'Force new windows in halo'.
By doing that any app you open will open in floating window.
To use 4 windows on xoom you must go into xhalo settings and set pop up size as follows :
4 windows in landscape mode -
Landscape Width : 50%
Landscape Height : 50%
2 Windows in Portrait mode -
Portrait width : 100%
Portrait Height : 50%
Hope that helps

Well Floating Notification is only useful to create the list of apps that are set to be opened in windowed mode in the homescreen. However, it is quite annoying though movable along the screen. Meanwhile, xHalo makes the notification bar full of shortcuts. Is there any way to move these shortcuts somewhere in the homescreen or elsewhere?

Instead of that, just go to Xhalo app>>Pop up behaviour >> Tick 'Force new windows in halo'. after you make this changes do a soft reboot. now you can open any app from app drawer into floating window. this is extremely useful for me. or else halo and floating notifications are the only apps available with that functionality

Done that but no changes. Only the apps in the shortcuts that opens in window mode. Would like to have that if possible
Edit: finally made to have it from pop up behavior>whitelist/blacklist option>always open apps in halo mode except blacklisted app and get any app in windows mode. For anyone who care to do this, i suggest you to put your games in the blacklist. Will try this for some times and see if real multitasking is too heavy in this system or not.
Another question, i activated title bar and when I minimized the window, it is minimized in notification bar but when I tried to open or restore it from there, it doesnt do anything and i have to longpress on it to go to the app info menu and force close it from there. Is this the problem with KK or is there something I can do about it?
Edit: got some issue with scrolling in windows mode in Whatsapp and browsers in window mode do not save the cache. They reload the last opened tabs instead of viewing them again when i close or move to other apps
Thanks for the tutorial. I followed all the steps to install it on my Xoom with omnirom but I couldn't av two windows floating simultaneously. One closes as I open the other.

Works well thanks.
I can't get this to work right to save my life. Best case scenario is a windowed app over top of the home screen. The video with the module shows some side bar that I can't seem to find. For me it's like this. I'm in gmail. I hit recents, long press hangouts select open in halo and instead of having a window over gmail I have a window on top of my recent apps. I then select gmail and it opens in the window and closes hangouts. What am I doing wrong? After an hour of messing with this module I turned it off as I found it to me more of an inconvenience instead of a convenience because I never once could get multiple windows instead I just had every app opening on top of recents or my launcher!

It's works also on Galaxy tab 2 10.1 P5110
Hi everybody,
I install it on my P5110 running 0204 cm 11 and dholmen kernel 0204 all is working fine.
After installing an update of the modules.
I think it's woking on many devices and many roms you can try, no risk.Do a backup of your rom before installing xposed framework!!

OS-Slimkat (Slim-n7000-4.4.2.build.4-OFFICIAL)

When i got my axon 7 the thing who miss the more for me was Daydream Night Clock , in this thread someone give a solution ( link not allowed i'm new on xda see on bottom of thread) and it worked when i was on 6.0.1.
I have reseted my device after upgrading to 7.1.1 and now the tutorial seem to not work anymore, someone have a solution ? I have tried many 3rd party app and no one make the job like google's one.
ZTE why have you removed this fonction... and do not disturb tile....
1. Install the google clock app.
2. Disable the stock clock app using the stock theme
3. Install Nova Launcher or other app that lets you create activities(shortcuts to access the hidden android modules).
4. Create a shortcut too : settings.settings$DreamSettingsActivity
5. Use your new shortcut to enable the day dream setting on charge/dock.
6. Done.
Anyone know how to enable it ?
Hi,
I am new here and I hope this is the right place for my question. Else, feel free to move or delete.
I am running the latest LOS nightly and after flashing I was able to swipe down in the middle of the homescreen to pull down the notifications.
That was a week ago and now after installing a few apps and changing some settings it is not working anymore.
There is a switch to turn this function on/off in the homescreen settings, but this doesn't change anything.
Also if I switch to guest user profile it works.
But not on my admin user.
Can anyone help?
Oneplus 2 with LOS 15.1, opengapps nano and Magisk
Thank you! :fingers-crossed:
