Hi,
I was thinking about purchasing a verizon Note3 however I read the APN for the data setting was locked out just like the Note 2 was. I am just curious is this true? Was it ever unlocked on the Note 2?

Unfortunately, we'll still need root to do this if it is locked out by default on the N3

You cannot change the APN setting with the Verizon SIM in the phone, the menu items are grayed out. However, if you put in a non-Verizon SIM the APN menu becomes accessible and you are able to add a different APN for the network of the new SIM provider.

can anybody please verify this?
also, if you put in another network's SIMCARD in the NOTE3, will you be able to do calls, txt/MMS? or only DATA?
will be traveling international this DEC and would like to be able to put in a local SIMCARD and use it instead of having to pay VERIZON extra for roaming charges..
any help would be greatly appreciated!
TIA

I am writing this with my Verizon note 3 from Ireland using a sim from the "3" network (three.ie). It works for voice, data (3g, no lte), and texts. My phone is rooted, but I don't think that was needed. So, it does work.
There is a little icon stating "non-Verizon sim", but everything works fine.

I own a Verizon Note 3 and currently I have T-mobile SIM inserted and Voice / DATA (H+ no LTE) are working great.
delete vzw apn?
I have a vzw note 3 I just switched to at&t and after much digging was able to find the proper apn for at&t. What I cant figure out is how to delete the old Verizon apn as it's grayed out. Does anyone know how to access this to edit or delete?
Is it bothering you that much?? Not sure who you could delete it but why is it a bother ??

I have a galaxy s5 from Verizon ,Unlocked.
I tried to switch Verizon sim card out for a Family mobile one (tmobile)
at first nothing was working and this sim card is from an unknown source kept on appearing. After a while the phone and text messaging features began to work, but my data still does not work. I have tries switching mobile network settings and fixing the apn but it still does not work. What other things can I try to make my data work?
Cellular data is working when I m at local but when I m roaming the data stops working and it's not just happening for 1 sim each every sim is having same effect so probably it's my phone which is having some problem...I turned on the data roaming and access points setting and extra basic stuff but it's not working...

Hello, I have Two galaxy note 3. one from t-mobile and the other is international with a t mobile sim card. I have been trying to edit the NV data on the international phone so that I can use T mobile's LTE Bands but without any luck. Moreover, I read somewhere that I could copy QPST NV data from my Tmobile phone to my international one, but also without any luck. The international phone is stuck on Edge (GSM Only), and every time I try to change it to WCDMA/LTE I would instantly lose service and have to restore to NV data.
If anyone can help me convert my International Phone Bands that would be great, I need both phones because the t mobile phone belongs to my wife . Hence, I'm always travelling I decided to keep the international for me.
Best Regards,
Was the international phone always stuck on edge before changing nv data?

Yes. I tried contacting Technical support they said they would figure it out, and it switched to H+ for two seconds before going back to edge. And it's like this everywhere in my city. I would get full bars while sitting on the balcony but it only connects to Edge.
So changing nv data did not make any difference? The SIM card gets 3G or 4g in another phone? Tried a different SIM card?

Thank you for your help, i just went and bought a galaxy note 7 from t-mobile that can work internationally .
Hello
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ when i was in USA it was from Sprint, now i am in Macedonia and i unlocked the phone, and it was all good but Data Connection won't work i fixed APN but still won't work,i can't choose network operators, the phone data works with Macedonian VIP sim card but won't work with t-mobile and every time i turn on mobile data it shows an small window where it says (Unable to establish a wireless data connection LTE: ESM - 29 EMM - x)
Thank You..
Bump. I'm in a similar boat. Sprint phone unlocked. But now using an ATT sim, Phone works but data is a no go... Somebody with their MSL # able to assist? Its our data profile, and it needs to change the way it "dials" out of the phone. But without anything to compare it to, its impossible.
