Well this is random - Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo General

I was just playing with my turbo (running the latest 4.4.4 build) and noticed that after a few taps of the version number I got this.. an S, rather than a K. Is this just my phone, and is there a reason for it that I am not aware of?
Just thought I would share.

Can't remember where i read it in x abut that is normal. Mine does it too. Some suggest it to mean Lollipop "S" oon
Sent from my XT1254 using Xparent BlueTapatalk 2

Pretty sure if you keep tapping it changes to kitkat......

it is the first letter of your build. it just so happen for nexus and such first build letters were K but for moto build letters start with S

I'm still on 21.21.15, and mine shows a K. Build number is KDF21.128-15 so it does match the first letter in my build.

Verizon Xoom Jelly Bean Soak Test

Invites went out today. Finally, we're getting an official Jelly Bean update 10 months after WiFi. If anyone is participating in the soak test, could you pull the OTA URL? I wonder if this will be JZO54K like WiFi or if it'll be a newer build of 4.1.2. I guess we'll see!
Thanks!
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk HD
This is excellent news of course, despite being ridiculously late arriving.
I have been running the leaked Motorola 4.1.1 JRO03H build since it dropped last June so I certainly hope its a newer build than that one.
It's actually quite stable despite some annoyances like limiting write access to the sdcard and keyboard misbehavior persisting.
The radios perform very well in this build so it will be interesting to see what changes, if any, appear assuming a new baseband is included.
How do you capture the URL?
I think it's a shame google stopped supporting the xoom. A google experience device and for a long time, the baby of android, always getting the OS updates first. Now it's just the red headed stepchild to the nexus 7 and 10. I would love to see google give us official 4.3 but that probably won't happen. If they did though, it would be really good PR and xoomers would rejoice.

When you get the OTA notification, but before applying the update, run adb logcat and output it to a text file. It'll be in there. The URL will be something like this: http://android.clients.google.com/p...signed-trygon-JZO54K-from-IMM76L.abcdef12.zip
Thanks!

There's no discussion. It'll be newer. It'll either be JZO54K like Wi-Fi or a newer build of 4.1.2 that we haven't seen yet (unlikely). I'm sure there will at least be a new CDMA baseband if not a new LTE baseband as well. I say this because the original leaker of that 4.1.1/JRO03H build had a newer CDMA baseband in his screenshot that no one had ever seen before (03.1A.66SP), but his LTE baseband was the same as the IMM76L ICS build.
Speaking of that leaked 4.1.1/JRO03H build, it looks like it was just the Wi-Fi build with the LTE drivers dropped in for testing.
The leaker claimed that Verizon had signed off on it but I don't buy it for two reasons. First, it was never released. Second, that build has a major DRM bug. Google Play Movies won't stream content when using that build because either the DRM keys are hosed or the build itself has something turned on that makes the app think the ROM is rooted.
As for how he got it, he said his own Xoom had the build installed by Motorola development. That much I do believe due to the fact that he had a CDMA baseband that no one else had ever seen.

Nope, your bootloader can remain unlocked. As long as you're running the stock ICS 4.0.4/IMM76L firmware, you'll get the update when they finally do roll the soak test out. Do you know how to pull an update URL, or do you need me to provide you some quick steps?

[4.4.2]FINISHED! Official 4.4.2 Update (Port) for Unlocked Boot

EDIT:
Work has been completed. The zip will be released at approximately 8PM PST/11PM EST on 3/15/14 pending upload times. Thanks for the support guys!
So I am in the process of porting 4.4.2 in its entirety to the Droid Maxx/Ultra/Mini. I'm posting this because Im excited to let the community know its running! I'm using the Official 4.4.2 firmware from the Moto X as source but It is definitely a work in progress. The major issue is the double buttons. If anyone wants to help out pm me! Screens below! Rest assured it is running on my maxx as we speak. Overall I prefer it to 4.4 any day.
Things to do:
Update Build info to reflect the correct device information.
Edit framework to remove on screen buttons and use native Droid Maxx buttons.
Well, if you can do this with 442 from the MotoX, duplicating it with the Droid sbf/XML 442 should be a snap (when it is released)? This eventually flashable via Safestrap for us who have locked Boots, but rooted 44?
fat-fingered and Maxx-ed out.
This should be on original development, but I think you just are installing the 4.4.2 Moto x software on your phone, so it's not that original i talk about this in the thread on my signature

Don't forget the twist to open the camera app. These phones have the two always-on low-power processor cores (one for always listening, the other for sensing motion). Without software to take advantage of these features, all those cores will do is drain the battery.
BTW: you can get rid of onscreen buttons with XPosed framework!

I think he wants the ROM to have them off already so that there is no inconvenience to the user when they install it. Not every user would want to go through the extra steps to install Xposed and the correct module(s). It's a much better solution if it can be made to just flash and go.

Exactly my thoughts.
I'm flirting with the idea of going to 4.4.2 and poking around. Topsnake, why do you say you prefer it so much to 4.4? All I found for changes were data stability, transparent notification bar, all white icons/text in notification bar, and some reports of battery drain. Is it really worth it?
Just Unlocked my Maxx installed Gravitybox but i'm thinking of the Moto X firmware.
Does the Wireless charging still work?
Does the Active Notifications work?

I'm still not on 4.4.2 so I can't confirm, but my guess would be that if the Moto X has it, it will, and if it doesn't, it won't. The 4.4.2 ROM you would be flashing is for the Moto X, but it works on our Maxx. So active notifications still would work since Moto X has that natively, and wireless charging would not.

Yep, looks like someone got twitchy at VZW and hit the update page button too soon.
Hopefully this means that the real release is very close.
I'm wondering, is it going to be 6.0 or newer version.

New to Android. Need some help. Please! 7.1.1

Hello everyone. I recently switched from Iphone to Android and I am loving it so far. Bought the nexus 6p Gold over a week ago.
I am having problems with the the microphone. When I talk to someone is seems like they hear me very bad, like I am inside a submarine or very far away from the phone, which is odd because I was just holding the phone the normal way. I tested the mic on a recording app and I can hear myself very clearly. I have re searched and seems like a lot of people had/have this problem. I read something about the noise canceling thing on the back being an issue. And the best result would be to disable it. persist.audio.fluence.voicecall = put this to false or something. Anyways I was wondering if anyone can guide me through the steps on achieving this. I am running N 7.1.1, I currently have pixel launcher(loving it). I just want a simple root to get the mic working right on calls. I like the speed and design of the pixel launcher and would love to keep that and if I can get google assistant, even better if not its okay, I just want to use my phone to call people and for them to be able to hear me clearly... THANKS IN ADVANCE
I haven't had any issues with my mic but I assume you want to edit the build prop. I would use the Nexus Root Toolkit http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/ and Wug has a buid prop edit tool that I like and root is not needed. If you have root on 7.0 then get a build prop tool from the app store. I would hold off on getting 7.1.1 for now. I know it's tempting but this is release 1 and I'v been seeing several issue threads and it's best let the pros work out the bugs. It won't take long before you see a full step guide for 7.1.1. Be Patient
This is a hardware problem. Exchange it ASAP.

Do you have a case or screen protector? Was it like this when you 1st got it? Did you put 7.1 on it or did it come that way? If it was me I would; take off any case or screen protector, do a clean wipe, then grab the factory 7.1, https://developer.android.com/preview/download.html and try that, no TWRP or root yet. If its still an issue, like @therock3181 said, I would think its a hardware prob.

I don't have a screen protector. I got it on 7. On 6 it was working fine apparently, according to previous owner. Right now it is on 7.1.1. The weird this is that every voice recording app, or like messenger that i use to send voice messages works great its just in calls.
