No download mode and factory reset mode after OTA - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, i flashed by LG Flash tool lg firmware JB and by OTA updated to newest 20h for mine D802.
I have stock rom, no root no mods, i wanted to check to my status in download mode if "ROOTED" or "UNROOTED" by when i turn off phone and vol + and plug usb does not make anything, just after while it show battery is charging, then i tried to turn factory reset mode.. and it's same, vol - + power and repress power - no reason, vol - + power then release buttons and vol - + vol + - no reason. My ROM is working, but service modes does not work, how to recover or turn it on?

Help. No download mode after OTA.

Did you find a solution to this problem Ganjax? I am exactly in the same situation. Unrooted, 801, OTA-ed to 5.0.2 through LG update tool. Phone works fine, but does not go in download mode. Putting into download mode keeps showing the battery charge.

No download mode on stock rom?

Hey guys,
yesterday I bought a used LG G2. The G2 was rooted with a cloudy ROM (G3 Port). I wanted to bring it back to the Stock ROM an unroot it.
So I made a downgrade with this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2625044
It works! After that I was on 4.2.2 and after all the OTA Updates I am now on 4.4.2 (D80220f-EUR-XX). Everything works.
My problem is now, that I can't go into the download mode. If I try Power Button and Volume + after a few seconds the red LED glows and no download mode.
What happened? Is there any (other?) way to go into the download mode?
Sorry for my bad english, I am not a native speaker

I tried Power and Vol Up. I tried also only Vol Up. It does not work.
Anyone else?
Something similar happened to me, I was trying to enter to Factory Reset Mode and I had read it was turning on the phone using Volume - and Power Button, then release them and press them again. But it was not working. Then I read that it had changed a little in KK. It was pressing Volume - and Power Button, and when the LG logo appears, release both buttons and press Volume + and Volume -. Maybe it helps.

I have the same problem, no download mode on my G2 (European version, stock kitkat without root, bought it a week ago).
Just to be safe, the way I tried to launch it into download mode was:
1. Powering off the device.
2. Holding the volume up button.
3. Plugging in the USB cable (while still holding the volume up button)
The LG logo shows up for a while, after which the charging animation shows ups...

Your phone must be turned off
So, press power button and select “power off”.
Then, press the volume up button on your LG G2.
While you are holding the volume up button, plug in your phone’s USB cable.
Keep pressing the Volume up button until the download mode is being displayed.
that is the known method for G2 unless you flashed a custom boot-loader or changed the keys to enter download mode or recovery etc .... now try to enter a hard reset mode but don't apply it or all your data will be gone i say again don't approve it it is power+Vol down
if it works i think the keys combination are still in default then try to enter download mode again
if it didn't work return the mobile to be fixed or changed
Thanks for your reply!
The method you described is the same as the one I used, unfortunately it doesn't seem to work. I can't seem to get it to boot into recovery either...
I believe this reddit post describes my problem:
https://www.reddit.com/r/lgg2/comments/2n4gqa/unrooted_lg_g2_on_stock_android_442_kitkat_will/
The OP's conclusion is:
So I rooted and installed AutoRec and that got me Download Mode. Afterwards I used LG Flash Tool to flash the stock KDZ file onto my device to unroot it and to see if Download Mode is still enabled which it was not.
I believe this is LG's way of preventing users from upgrading to unofficial/unreleased firmware.

I managed to fix the issue by performing an emergency recovery using LG software. It must have been caused by one of the OTA updates.

help with unbrick LG G2 F320s
Background: LG F320s With Stock rom 30h, android version 5.0.1, TWRP recovery
*i cannot remember if i turned on the usb debugging mode or not. Will it affect my connection when i try to flash the kdz?
how it begins: i was playing my the xpose module. after activate a module and reboot , it never boot up.
What i Tried and failed
1) Press vol down and power to enter the twrp recovery. i failed to do that.
2) Try flashing the KDZ. but always said cannot connect to server in 2%
Any ideas?( I really dont know why i cannot access the TWRP. I follow the instruction. Completely power down by pulling out the battery. Then hold vol down and power to turn the phone on. When the LG logo appears i release and repress both of the button again, nothing happens. I think i followed the instruction correctly.)
Many thanks

You must press both volume buttons+pwer button at the same time to enter recovery. Download and flash a tot if you're getting stucked at2% when using kdz.

No recovery mode, no download mode, but works ok

Hi, my LG G2 works just fine, BUT it won't boot into download mode (vol up + usb cable plug), nor into recovery mode (power + vol down, and again after logo). In first case it just shows the battery charging screen, in second it keeps rebooting as long as I hold power button. Once I release it the phone just boot up normally.
I have vanilla Android 4.4.2, buttons works as intended once system is up.
I have tried turning USB debugging off and on, no changes.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance for all the replies!
EDIT It's the D802 version.

Cannot enter recovery mode after updating CM13 nightly

Hey guys,
I feel totally stupid for writing this post but I'm actually out of ideas how to get out of my situation. Also I didn't find any comparable topic here on xda. So let's hope you can help me and a big thanks in advance!
First of all i have a flashed D802 running TWRP and CM13, which worked well the last weeks. I thought about updating to the todays nightly as it is already a few weaks since I did my last update. I downloaded the nightly via the CM downloader and started the installation with running phone. It rebooted into recovery mode and installed the nightly without any problems. After the installation was completed the phone automatically rebooted and this is where the problem starts.
I am stuck in "bootloop?" at the CM logo. It is not automatically restarting after a while but just loading and loading and nothing further happens. I am not able to enter the recovery mode via the factory reset (Pressing Vol Down + Power, releasing after the lg logo appears, pressing and holding the power button again).
This never happened to me and as I am not able to enter TWRP I am not able to install a previous release or a backup. What am I doing wrong this time and what can I do?
Thanks for your support!
have you tried flashing a stock rom?

Actually I don't really know how to do this when I'm not able to enter the recovery mode? Is there a certain way to do this?
In the meantime I managed to enter the recovery mode / TWRP via a mode I don't know how it is called. I pressed vol down + pw btn, released after the LG logo appeared and pressed vol up + vol down. I guess my userdata is deleted by now, which shouldn't be a big deal but I am getting redirected to the recovery mode. I tried to install the yet working CM13 nightly but it has the same problems now.
Now I have two questions:
Does anyone know which part of the system is broken now / which part I need to update in order to get my phone back to life?
Is the download mode working if my phone is rooted? I am able to enter this mode.

yes you can enter the download mode: turn down your phone, press and hold volume up button and connect the usb cable, release volume up when your screan shows dowload mode.
then follow this tutorial to restore your phone back to stock http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
