[Q] Missing microphone icon in "Google Search" widget - General Paranoid Android Discussion

Hi
I´ve recently installed Paranoid Android and it's great! Only one issue: microphone icon in Google Search widget isn't there... although it´s not very important, is there any solution for this?
Thanks!
Mike.

Doesn't look like you are using google now launcher. Looks like aosp launcher to me.

Yes, I'm using aosp launcher... but it should show microphone icon anyway.

Oh, I thought it was a bug. It really is a bit unusual to see the search bar without the Google logo and microphone icon, but if the launcher is like this, ok! No problem!

Aosp has no Google components at all. The Google logo and the search icon ate part of the Google now launcher

Grey Google search bar on top of all screens? Can I get rid of it?

Is there a way to get rid of that grey Google search bar on top of all the screens? The drag an delete function doesn't seem to work.
Thanks!
I don't think there is any way to get rid of it on the Stock ROM. From what I understand its basically built onto the launcher. If it really bothers you, you could consider switching to an alternate launcher like Apex or Nova to get rid of it.

Didn't think of that. Maybe I'll give one of those a whirl.
This worked for me:
Settings>Apps>All>Google Search>select "Disable", then click "OK" on the "...other apps may misbehave" pop-up. You may have to reboot to get rid of the bar.
This will disable the search function on your tablet; there will be no way to search for contacts, apps or anything. If there is a problem you can always repeat the process and enable Google search again.
I personally didn't care for the search bar and I don't use the search function. I have only had my N10 since this morning, but removing the search bar was one of the first things I did and I have yet to have a problem.
Hope this helps.

Yes, the Now swipe-up functionality is in the navigation bar, which 3rd-party launchers don't change.

certain launchers will have them. mostly paid versions. their are apps like notifier apps that put the badges their or a pop up notification like the iphone pop ups. them also look like the iphone app icons, maybe golauncher has the badges and a theme for the icons
and i think their called notification badges.
I know Nova Launcher Prime has that feature with the TeslaUnread app.

Can't you just do a little bit of thinking/reading for yourself? It even has the process in the app description!
Anyway, buy Nova Launcher Prime or WidgetLocker (it won't work without one of these) then install Tesla unread. After that, enable TeslaUnread in Nova Launcher or WidgetLocker Settings > Unread Counts.

Lollipop app draw icon

For anyone wanting to make the stock ASUS Launcher look a bit more like stock Lollipop, I found an icon pack called LolliPop Colored on the Play Store. Applied via the icon packs setting in the launcher, it doesn't do anything other than change the wallpaper and app drawer icon. I then use the standard Nexus blue wallpaper.
You can get the same result by using the Google Now launcher. Plus it's an official app. You'll also get the "Okay google" function from any screen using this launcher instead.

Sure you can use google now, or nova or apex. That's not the point. For various reasons some people, myself included, want to use the stock Asus launcher. This is just a way to have it slightly nearer in appearance to stock lollipop's material design. Oh, and "OK Google" from any screen is available in the stock launcher too - it's an option in Google settings.

Sorry, I don't know how to share links for google play store apps (there's no sharing option like there is on apple app store). But if you search "LolliPop Colored theme" it will be top of the search results (it's by Alper Selzer)
I installed xposed framework yesterday. Using gravitybox module to activate softkeys (and expanded desktop so that can hide them again easily). Then used Xstana module to change the ASUS softkeys and status bar icons to Lollipop style. With WM Density changed to 270 (on my 550) I now have the stock ASUS Launcher just how I want it
Im still not root but i envy those navigation bars
guess have to get one too hehe
iphone
Now we can easily get iphone looks without any file, in latest ASUS launcher.

Because you have ASUS Apps on your ZenFone 2, not Google Apps.
Nova launcher with glim icon pack
I have all Google app installed I think.
What do you mean by Google App ?
Asus say me to see whith Google but Google says me to see whith ASUS.
Thnaks for your help.
What apps' icons are you talking about? If you mean things like settings, dialer and downloads, then you have ASUS versions instead of Google/AOSP, so the icons are different. Using Google Now launcher won't change those icons.

CM themes

Here's a quickie question.
So I have CM13.1(offical nightlies) running on the ZUK Z1, but I'm using the Google Now launcher, rather than Trebuchet. Have installed the unofficial version of C-Apps, so I can use the CM themes.
If I want to apply themes, do I need to be running Trebuchet, or will it work on Google Now launcher??
They will apply system-wide, at least most of it (Fonts, Wallpaper, Sounds, Statusbar)
If everything fails, you could use GEL Settings for Xposed to tweak it.

So it doesn't matter if I'm running Google Launcher?
What's the difference in Google Now launcher and Trebuchet?

Well they are just launchers, try them out.
Google Now Launcher is, as the name implies, geared towards Google Now. No real customisatzion and so on but swipe left for your Google Now cards.
Trebuchet ist just CMs implementation of the AOSP launcher with a few extras.

Notifications

Hello 2nd question I'm afraid. How do you get notifications to show in the app icons? I get the notification when I swipe down from the top of the screen but that's it.
Thanks
Use a launcher with support for that or a standalone app (if there is?)
I use Nova Launcher with TeslaUnread.

Thank you. Is it either or do I use Both?
