Here's a quickie question.
So I have CM13.1(offical nightlies) running on the ZUK Z1, but I'm using the Google Now launcher, rather than Trebuchet. Have installed the unofficial version of C-Apps, so I can use the CM themes.
If I want to apply themes, do I need to be running Trebuchet, or will it work on Google Now launcher??
They will apply system-wide, at least most of it (Fonts, Wallpaper, Sounds, Statusbar)
If everything fails, you could use GEL Settings for Xposed to tweak it.

So it doesn't matter if I'm running Google Launcher?
What's the difference in Google Now launcher and Trebuchet?

Well they are just launchers, try them out.
Google Now Launcher is, as the name implies, geared towards Google Now. No real customisatzion and so on but swipe left for your Google Now cards.
Trebuchet ist just CMs implementation of the AOSP launcher with a few extras.

Hello all. Just installed omnirom on my nexus 7 flo and everything works fantastic. There is a little problem whose solution i couldnt find even after hours of searching. My right app icon in app drawer disappers everytime i reboot. It doesnt matter which app icon i put in there. Only the right icon deappears.
Details
Device: nexus 7 2013 16gb
Firmware: omnirom 4.2.2(official)
Recovery: twrp 2.6.0
Gapps: pa gapps( stock 270 mb)
Launcher: omnirom default
anyone help
Please anyone help. This bug is killing me its so annoying
Disappearing icon
My last icon on the right also disappears. I'm using an Xperia tablet Z, SGP311.
I love the ROM. Android development is completely alien to me but when I have time I'll start over on the XDA university site. Now I just have to build one of those signatures that says what my device is and all that.
Your right app icon? Can you screenshot or something?

For what it's worth, this affects all users (at least on flo) and not just the primary or last accessed one.

I'm having the same problem on the Nexus 10.
Great rom apart from this minor annoyance!
FWIW, I'm using Nova Launcher on Nexus 10 with dock set to have 6 icons and I'm not having this problem. Could be an issue with a specific launcher or setting, hard to know without more information from those having the problem.
New quick settings tile editing option is great!

+1 for the Nexus 10 with the GEL Launcher. Doesn't effect Nova Launcher regardless of # of rows/columns.

Stock launcher. Ie the launcher that came when i installed omnirom. I didnt install any other launcher, but now i am considering to switch to other launcher. I have tried many free launchers before but didnt like most of them. Care to suggest a simple launcher without any annoyances(like ads and pay to unlock certain feature)??

Nova. It's brilliant. There are some features which are only available in the paid version but nothing that affects the use of the launcher.
Oh, and the disappearing icon is not an Omni problem - its a problem with the GEL itself.

+1 on Nova. I had a low-spec device a couple years ago and tried all the popular launchers at the time. Nova seemed fastest, easiest to use, and has useful features. As far as I know the free version doesn't have ads and has plenty of good features. Nova Prime has some additional gestures that can be set to open favorite apps, which I love, because I like a clean home screen.

Thanks. Im using nova launcher right now without any problems. Backups and restore is an important feature which I liked very much. What the hell is wrong with google, not fixing this bug till now
For anyone wanting to make the stock ASUS Launcher look a bit more like stock Lollipop, I found an icon pack called LolliPop Colored on the Play Store. Applied via the icon packs setting in the launcher, it doesn't do anything other than change the wallpaper and app drawer icon. I then use the standard Nexus blue wallpaper.
You can get the same result by using the Google Now launcher. Plus it's an official app. You'll also get the "Okay google" function from any screen using this launcher instead.

Sure you can use google now, or nova or apex. That's not the point. For various reasons some people, myself included, want to use the stock Asus launcher. This is just a way to have it slightly nearer in appearance to stock lollipop's material design. Oh, and "OK Google" from any screen is available in the stock launcher too - it's an option in Google settings.

Sorry, I don't know how to share links for google play store apps (there's no sharing option like there is on apple app store). But if you search "LolliPop Colored theme" it will be top of the search results (it's by Alper Selzer)
I installed xposed framework yesterday. Using gravitybox module to activate softkeys (and expanded desktop so that can hide them again easily). Then used Xstana module to change the ASUS softkeys and status bar icons to Lollipop style. With WM Density changed to 270 (on my 550) I now have the stock ASUS Launcher just how I want it
Im still not root but i envy those navigation bars
guess have to get one too hehe
iphone
Now we can easily get iphone looks without any file, in latest ASUS launcher.

Because you have ASUS Apps on your ZenFone 2, not Google Apps.
Nova launcher with glim icon pack
I have all Google app installed I think.
What do you mean by Google App ?
Asus say me to see whith Google but Google says me to see whith ASUS.
Thnaks for your help.
What apps' icons are you talking about? If you mean things like settings, dialer and downloads, then you have ASUS versions instead of Google/AOSP, so the icons are different. Using Google Now launcher won't change those icons.
I am currently using CM13 on my Nexus 6P, and really liking it. However, was wondering if there is a way to lock/freeze the homescreen on the trebuchet launcher so that I don't accidentally move or resize my widgets. I remember older CM versions having this option baked in, but don't see it here. Using Xposed Mods like Gel or Gravitybox either don't work or don't provide the option. Does anyone know of a way, either manually or via a mod, to lock/freeze the widgets on the trebuchet homescreen?
Also, is there a way to disable the pager buttons?

The short answer....no. there are some Xposed modules that do some stuff. There's 'settings editor' where you can add and remove settings from the main menu. 'systemui icons' allows you to change any image or icon with a custom one. Some of the statusbar mods work to change some colors. Best bet is gravity box for that. If you have my framework mod installed you can customize your power menu with endless possibilities. Nova launcher is my choice launcher. Without a customnrom, you're limited. Or flash the lineage ROM. it's lollipop but you can add a custom notification image and so on. I wish we could get substratum. now only works for 7.0...maybe 6. Look at live wallpaper threads if you like those. They play well with stock fireos. Not so much on the lineage ROM.

You could. But there's only the default themes. I wouldn't even know how to get more. Tbh I've never really played around with cm themer.

Cm12.1 themes don't work perfectly well anymore (or maybe its the ROM). They are mostly outdated and are causing crashes especially if you skin the apps (apply style) too. If you don't completely apply the theme it'll work fine for most part but you'll be seeing some issues like dark text on dark background etc

I've had zero issues with the theme engine. In fact it works better than I expected it would. I wish I had discovered this earlier. It would've made some roms on my devices a lot better.
