My Nexus 7 (2012) went into a bootloop late last month.
It would not take a factory reset.
I had to go into fastboot mode to turn it off otherwise it would keep on rebooting.
I tried rooting it with the latest lollipop.
It still bootloops.
(I suspect because USB debugging was not on.)
I even resorted to taking it to a cellphone repair shop.
They think it might be corrupted memory.
Is there some way to verify this?
Is there any way to open it up and replace a physical component?
It has never been dropped or other mishaps.
It's been a very good tablet and I really miss it now.

Hi,
Thanks for using XDA Assist I would recommend not to attempt to repair your device on your own without having any technical knowledge about it

ok i was flashing stock 4.1.2 image on my nexus, so i could upgrade to 4.2, but the nexus 7 toolkit (msskip) just stopped, so i pluged out my nexus but now it wouldnt enter the bootloader, but when i plug it in to my computer it ask me about apx drivers, this happend to my lg optimus 2x once but i could flash it back trough nvflash, but is my nexus 7 hardbricked ? do i need to send it back where i bought ? :crying:
RMA time I'm afraid, your bootloader is toast and there's currently no way to recover from that, a compatible process using nvflash isn't available for Nexus 7 (yet).

:crying: that sucks, well i guess i need to send it back to the shop, this is my second nexus 7 on the first one the screen broke
Well I used TWRP to install a boot.img for my Nexus 7. Turns out I downloaded the wrong file, and now I can't get my device past the Google Screen after I rebooted it.
So far I've downloaded another boot.img and tried using that to solve my problem, that didn't work; it would end up stuck on bootloader screen frozen or saying "booting modified img"
I've used almost every recommended solution on Nexus Toolkit and all of them did nothing to help, Including downloading stock images, Restoring stock kernel, etc.
I don't know if perhaps I could have the build number wrong for the toolkit, but I'm not able to see what build it currently is since I can't get pass the google logo. I've done almost everything and now I am completely clueless as to what I can do to fix this. Any help would be deeply appreciated.
Had a similar prob the other days and i solve it fro here

Post number 8 helped me because wugs toolkit has an option to return stock on a bricked device...
Stop relying on toolkits and learn to use fastboot and adb. It helps tremendously when you are having problems. It also prevents you from just getting clicky and selecting every option in hope that something fixes it. Follow the directions in the sticky on flashing a factory ROM/return to stock. It has all the information you need to fix your problem.

Hi guys,
I am new to this Forum and I am German so please understand that my english is not the best.
A few days ago I flashed my Nexus 7 (2012) with the newest Ubuntu Touch Version after having android before. After succesfully flashing the device with the OS it booted with no problem but UbuntuTouch didn't quite come to my expectations, so I decided to switch back to Android. I tried that by simply following the steps that are suggested on the Ubuntu webpage but that did not work out. I tried to just load the Android package to tablet in some other way but now I have the problem, that UbuntuTouch is still installed but when I try to boot it, it gets stucked in a bootloop.
I already tried to "wipe data/factory reset" in the recovery mode but it isn't working. At least bootloader and recovery mode are working fine.
I hope there is some way you can help me solve my problem, if there is anything unclear feel free to ask.
Daniel
I'd suggest asking in the Nexus 7 forum. They know what to do. We probably don't as it's different for every device and the chance that someone comes around who has a Nexus 7 as well is much higher in the Nexus 7 forum. (You know why. ^^)
Please add whether you own the 2012 or 2013 model. Then report your own post by clicking on the orange triangle on the right side of your post and in the text field describe that you want your thread to be moved (ask politely ). Then it'll be in the N7 forum and the people over there will be able to help you. Good luck.

Hello all,
As one can ascertain from the title, I have my Nexus 7 "Razor" (2013) edition stuck in a boot loop, with it not able to be recognized in adb.
Now before you mob me for not making a recovery, I didn't expect when flashing an official google image to go wrong. Well, clearly, that didn't happen. Some notes that may help you in assisting me:
The bootloader is unlocked.
Originally usb debugging was enabled, however, with the current lack of OS, it appears to be gone/reset.
I am a semi-n00b with with this stuff, but I can understand about 80% of directions, nevertheless, take it easy please
Thank you for any and all help!
A. You are in the 2012 forums.
B. USB debugging only applies to a booted OS. In fastboot mode it is not needed. What image did you flash and how did you flash it?

Oh my apologies, I am a noob.
I was trying to flash the android L dev preview.

Hi all, I've messed up with my nexus 7 2013 and i think its soft bricking.
I was using multirom and accidentally installed the wrong kernel. Every time I boot into android (4.4) it loads slow and then instead of displaying the screen it shows two duplicated top left hand corners and remains unresponsive.
Unfortunately i never got the chance to enable usb debugging and my bootloader is locked.
I tried a few things suggested online but they didn't work and multiform appears to have been wiped.
Recovery still works (TWRP) but I'm really in a bind.
Any help on getting back to stock android 4.4 would be amazing, but please bear in mind I'm new to android, so please provide detailed instructions.
Probably your best way would be using fastboot, can't give you details but I have seen it on here. Google fastboot nexus 7.

Wugfresh toolkit should also work, especially if you are not familiar with or interested in learning fastboot & adb.
