D802 Help.. - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Right guys I'm relatively new to the G2 scene.. 2 quick questions i've read somewhere that you can't do an over the air update on your g2 otherwise you go into a boot loop via di cyanogenmod updater and i was just curious to see if this is true as i've been getting really bad battery drain recently and i want to update to the latest nightly.
Question 2 if this doesn't happen to fix my recent battery drain problems how easy would it be to return to stock firmware i've read up on it and it seems quite confusing and i was wondering if there is an easier method or if it's just a simple as plugging it into your pc on updating via lg software.
Thank you for taking your time for reading this and i hope you guys have some answers for me

Official Over the Air updates (the ones released from Google) are bad if you have a Custom Recovery installed such as TWRP or CWM. You never want to take an Official OTA if you have either of those installed. But if you're just talking about updating your CyanogenMod build, that should be fine. For more information about updating CyanogenMod visit http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Updating. You can always manually update instead of using the inbuilt updater. Just download the new NIGHTLY and flash it via recovery, see #Updating_Manually.

Returning to stock is one of the most easiest things to do. Follow the Return to Stock guide. Basically you download your .KDZ file for your specific phone model. Boot into Download Mode, Open the LG Flash Tool, Point it to your .KDZ and hit Flash :good:.
NOTE: Make sure you flash a .KDZ that is made for your phone model! Do not flash any other models .KDZ onto your phone.
To make sure you download the correct .KDZ for your device visit LG Firmware ROM and enter your IMEI. It will direct you to your appropriate .KDZ.

No download mode no recovery mode

So it all started today when I tried to flash Cloudy G3, it didn't work, it soft bricked I restored backup, all good. After this, my phone started acting weird by powering up again after I powered it off, not opening Quick Remote and saying SIM is not ready. So I decided to give Clopudy G3 a try once more but I needed TWRP, I installed the TWRP i needed but I got error status 7 so I used flashify which was recommended to me. Well I flashed TWRP using flashify and, now when I try to get into recovery mode it enters fastboot mode and stays there. I figure the solution to this is going back to stock, and I found that the best method is from a dude called Hyleton in XDA But that falishify thing left me without a download mode! No recovery, no download... is there even a fix for this?. Now my phone is the international version (D802) but this guy has trillions of firmaware for lots of different D802s and I don't know which one to download and use! I downloaded the one in the folder that says "D802 tot" and selected the 32GB one. Can somebode PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HELP ME, my knowledge on rooting is pretty basic, and a lot of the things in that thread, like for example the word "TOT" I don't understand! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476&highlight=d802
Now can somebody please explain this guide to me? I am wanting to do the second method (the TOT method). I would really appreciate this, REALLY REALLY APPRECIATE IT.
well
I wont be much help, but maybe i can simplify for people who come accross this thread. Ive read it a few times and im quite confused.
You said you flashed cloudyG3, had problems, then went back to stock.
What recovery did you use to backup, restore, and flash cloudy g3?
No i want to flash stock, after trying to flash Cloudy G3 I used flashify to flash TWRP and it went nuts and and now my phone is working strangely. I'm currently trying to go back to stock in the hope that it'll fix my problems and I'm using Hyleton's guide, as I have no download mode I'm gonna use a .kdz file but in his guide there's lots of KDZ files and I don't know which one to use! Any idea on that? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476 here's the thread and if you look at the stock firmware files you'll see there's tonnes of .kdz for the D802, could you help me find the correct one for my phone? My phone is simply D802, no other letters like the ones in that list have (which confuses me as to which file I have to use to flash stock) and I bought in the US, but I live in Argentina....

[Q] Accelerometer/Modem Help D800

Alright, so, I'm not a huge modder, but I do like to remove the stock OS once things start slowing down (as they always do).
When I upgraded my LG G2 D800 to Cyanogenmod 11, I noticed the Accelerometer was no longer working. No big deal, I thought, it would eventually be fixed. So I just used a manual control app in the meantime.
Well, Yesterday I got a ColorCross VR headset, so I want that Accelerometer to work again. I've tried nearly everything. short of going back to stock. I think I know the solution but can't find a reliable download/get TWRP to work with my downloads. I had cm-11-20140504-SNAPSHOT-M6-d800 Installed
I found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2705509 stating that a modified Kitkat Modem/baseband is needed, but the files are gone.
Then, I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451426 with these downloads http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/G2_modems it had two modems or the LGD800, "10D_Radio" and "10O_Radio" neither worked when trying to flash the zip as downloaded using TWRP. I tried both wiping data/Cavik and flashing it right before and right after a fresh install of Cyanogenmod, both Lollipop and Kitkat versions but no luck. Couldn't open the zip file TWRP said.
So I tried a few 5.0 ROMS, CM 12 (second to latest nightly and a few others), Cloudy, Vanir, but none of them turned on my Accelerometer.
So, what I need, is an explanation on how to flash those modem files or if I was doing it correctly, a link to valid modem files. Preferably one that works with an Android 5.0.x ROM, but if I have to go back to KitKat, I can live with that, I just want my sensors to work.
Failing that, I guess I can revert all the way back to stock. But let me ask one question: Can I just flash a .zip file using TWRP if I'm not worried about making it appear completely stock (not planning on returning or selling it) without having to do the extra stuff in the guide intended for a complete return to stock? I don't need recovery to be reverted, just the original stock ROM (I tried to flash just the ROM, but either the download was damaged or I can't simply flash the stock LG G2 AT&T ROM).
I have five bucks in bitcoin I can tip whoever helps me out, either a custom ROM that installs the right modem/baseband by default and is KitKat or above or some instructions on how to get the right modem files to install + a link to them.
If a new build needs to be compiled to get the accelerometer working again, I might be able to donate a little more than that.
Right before posting this I tried downgrading to CM11-20140210-SNAPSHOT but while it installed, it still says there is no accelerometer (and doesn't auto-rotate, even when on). I also tried downgrading to CM10 (the only LG d800 CM10 on the official site) but TWRP didn't want to open the zip.
Thanks!
Neverminc, figured it out, sorry for the noob questions

LG G2 D802- Bricked After Software Update

Bricked LG G2 D802, some advice ?
Hello guyz,
Unfortunately during a software update the phone just got cold with black screen.
I started searching and found a solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/lg-g2-unbrickable-fix-real-hard-brick-t2904404
I used all info as instructed and managed to manually flash the partitions like in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
But unfortunately i got stuck after the last step (ubuntu flash), the next thread does not help me with my "softwareless" phone.
Any advice how should i proceed in order to push the cyanogen 12.1 and gappa to the get the phone up and running ?
I currently have TWRP but a lot of features are not working, i guess it's as expected since it was hard wiped.
Thank you !

I think you have a frankenphone which is basically a phone that has a motherboard that is different than the model that is written on the back cover.
Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk
Well, if only i could somehow transfer the cyanogen and gapps to the device i could install the software via twrp
But i don;t how to do that, the PC sees the phone as "!G2"
I installed ADB and tried to see if it recognizes the phone but no luck, figured out maybe i can push the firmware via adb
Solved my issue.
Can be closed
As this forum is not for you alone it would be nice to share your way to a fix. Others might get into the same issue.
The problem was the images them self's. I tried the SRK Tool images to flash under ubuntu and managed to boot in recovery and flash a EUR 10B via download mode.
Just replace the images that are suggested in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142 with the ones from the SRK TOOL and have a EUR 10B firmware ready to flash

[d852] Fix for shutdown/reboot hang on AOSP

Some people who have used autorec to install twrp on their d852 experience a shutdown/reboot hang on their phone. The phone will appear to turn off and the only way to turn it on again is to pull the battery and put it back in.
I have created a flashable twrp zip that installs v10b firmware. It does not replace your existing baseband/modem or kernel. It also does not touch your system or data partition so there will be no data loss.
I have been using this for a week and have had no problems. I also have NOT had a reboot/shutdown hang since installing it either.
Flash at your own risk. This is for the d852 ONLY. Also, only use this if you are already running an AOSP/cm based rom. If you try to use this zip with a stock kernel you won't be able to boot afterwards.

Thank you, this problem has been with my d8522 since I bought it and nobody had a solution. I am just wondering if I want to roll back to firmware 20, what do I need to back up in TWRP or adb?
Easiest way to get back to firmware 20 would be to flash a v20 kdz.
The difficult way would be to manually backup the partitions that my zip replaces using dd from an adb shell.
Thanks for the response. I guess I have to ask my next question... Where do I find a firmware v20 for download just in case? I spent some time searching this site and I never found it. Closest I came to finding a firmware was one of the v10.
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63422778&postcount=2430
There was no kdz for my sasktel phone to be found anywhere. This method worked for me.
This is very frustrating with the d852. I just got the kdz, 1.2Gb. And flashing that back will undo the root, revert to stock. It was a pain to get this phone rooted, all methods failed except one that required a Google account to download an app from the Market.
Where do I find just the latest rooted firmware, modem, etc? I am coming from a Nexus 4, where everything was just available. This G3 is a black box, and I have no way to sort out the information.
Thanks for at least trying...
My camera stopped after use autorec, does some body has this problem? thanks

Stuck on boot

Hi
When I wipe devik, data, cache and system partition using TWRP and reboot, the phone take forever to boot it stuck in LG logo. I don't understand why it stuck when I wipe those partitions. I've tried combination keys to boot in TWRP recovery but it doesn't work. Now I'm stuck. I don't know what to do. My phone is LG G3 (F460L) Android 4.4.2. Please see the photo.
EDIT: I didn't read the system partition thing before answering below... If I'm not completely wrong, your phone can't boot, because there is no system which could be loaded, so your phone is more or less empty, when you wiped the system partition. No more Android 4.4.2 :/ I don't know, why booting into TWRP doesn't work. Maybe you carefully could try to unbrick your phone and reinstall stock rom again.
Hej,
have you ever had booting problems with your phone? I'm in constant bootloop trouble with my D855. Some say it's a battery issue, which I can not confirm since I've tried 4 different ones (including 2 brand new ones). Some others say my mainboard has kind of an unrepairable defect. As I go with this possible explanation, I ordered a new used mainboard from China, hoping for it to arrive in Europe and not beeing fished by the authorities...
I can't say for sure what is the exact issue with my or your phone, the only thing I can tell is that there are tons of posts that can be found on the internet about the G3 having bootloop issues after a couple of years of normal usage. And for most users this came all of a sudden. Believe me, I've invested days of research, uncounted attempts of unbricking my phone (I thought I bricked it somehow, but it wasn't the case) and flashed stock rom and LOS as hard as I could. All ended up in my phone not running stable, crashing and then bootlooping. Sometimes (most of the times) if it's shut down and I want to turn it on, it gets stuck on the LG boot splash screen. It seems that somehow the energy management is not capable of running the phone stable under low voltage, since at least for me the probability of successfull boots slightly rises with a higher state of charge. But I can't take it for granted...
Good luck for you, I will keep reading this thread.
I wipe System Partition which contains Kitkat 4.4.2 but I already flash new ROM (CM13 Unofficial f460) after. There should be CM13 in system partition. I don't know why it can't boot. On the other hand, I can't find official firmware 4.4.2 for F460L (3hours search still no luck). I found only official firmware 6 Marshmallow which I'm afraid I won't be able to root forever if I flash it. I'm really appreciated if you can find one somewhere.

You could follow the link in this post which leads to a russian site. I saw a 4.4.2 version of Android in there. Good luck!
Thanks. I found official firmware lollipop and flash it. I've been searching for a way to root it but most of the method is for D855. Do you know if F460L Lollipop is rootable?

You can use the search function within the forums or search engines like startpage. I don't actually own a F460L and I'm not an expert either, so I don't know, how it works exactly. Punchin the keywords "F460L Lollipop root" into startpage.com brought me the following link as first result:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-everything-lg-g3-cat-6-f460s-t3542542
Just follow the guide in OPs post
I already try LG One Click Root. It doesn't work. When it reach 45% (Looking for LG Serial Port), the phone restart (normal reboot) and it stay at 45% definitely. I manually reboot to Download Mode, still, 45%. Any suggestion?

Sorry, as I'm on a D855, I don't really know. I rooted via King Root which only works with a specific Android version. I used this guide which helped me a lot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VOgM3jLas4
It's for the D855 but it could work with the F460 too. In the video description, there is a download link to the specific stock rom version for F400 models. The guide tells you where and what to download and how to install. You could try this and I'll keep reading Good Luck!
