I couldn't find any other thread describing a similar problem to this. But after since I updated to lollipop firmware, I'm getting this weird issue.
The auto-rotate stops working randomly. Then I open CPU-Z and it shows me a blank (No readings from accelerometer).
After a restart, I get readings from accelerometer in CPU-Z and it all works again. Then after several hours or some days this thing repeats.
Tried a full reset but didn't help. Any Idea what the exact reason might be?
Thanks.
Bump!

I am not sure what is going on, but my screen rotation just dies randomly throughout the day, sometimes multiple times per day. When it happens my proxmity sensor also stops working. A reboot fixes both issues then they will naturally happen again. When they both stop working, apps that try to use the gyro wont work they come up with a error that says it cannot be accessed. Im wondering if its a hardware issue, but its hard to believe since it works upon reboot? Ive tried pulling the battery for 30 seconds and other tricks, also dropping the phone with a case on (maybe the weight is stuck) Not sure what else to try, but next step is to swap it out i guess
Hello,
A while back, I have noticed that my pedometer from S Health is not counting steps, so I restarted the app, but it still wasn't working. Then, I noticed that actually the accelerometer was not working. I have tested it by using #0# code and the accelerometer sensors and the gyroscope sensor have the same number value all the time. At first, I thought it is a hardware issue, but I noticed, that after restarting the phone, the accelerometer is working fine, then in a few minutes, sometimes even hours; it stops working, out of the blue. When this started I was on Lollipop, so I thought it is a Lollipop problem, so I came back to KitKat, but the problem still persists. I have tried factory reset, wiping all the data and cache, two different stock ROMs, and even NAND erase in Odin (I don't even know what that means). The problem is still there, the only thing that solves it is just to restart the phone.
I updated my G900F to Lolipop samsung stock G900FXXU1BOB7 via odin.
It was on a telekom branded firmware before. Flash went fine.
But it freezes out of nowhere. Sometimes when I pickup my phone the screen is on showing only Samsung logo and the led is pulsing blue. I guess it rebooted and freezed.
I didnt witness the reboot. It stays that way until battery is drained or i pull out the battery. This happens multiple times a day except when its charging. When charging its fine for the whole night until I plug it off and put it in my pocket. Next time i pick it up its frozen.
I wiped cache didnt fix the issue.
I did factory reset didnt fix it either.
Anyone else having that kind of issue ? Anyone have an Idea what can be done to fix this ? Its rly annoying cause it makes my phone nearly useless.
Solved for now i guess.
I think the issue is solved for now.
I noticed that the heartrate sensor was constantly working. After uninstalling Google fit i havent encountered any reboots and freezes.
Time will tell if that was the reason.
Over the weekend Lightflow was being wonky. Showing I had notifications when I had none.
So I uninstalled it, and hit restart to let the phone refresh..
Upon doing so, it bootlooped.... I think. After 3-4 minutes it came up with a Force Close window and said "System is Not Responding would you like to close? [Wait][OK]"
Has anyone else seen this or experienced it first hand?
As a fix, I removed the battery and let it set for a minute or so. Re-assembled, powered on, and it took a minute or so to boot fully after the removal of Lightflow and the bootloop, I think...
As the system hadn't loaded, I was unable to get SS's.. But does anyone have any insight on this?
Question: Do you have a Developer edition ? How are you on 5.0.1?
But the system not responding issue has also happened to me. Fixed it with a battery pull.
Not sure what causes the problem though. Maybe check logs?
This is a problem I didn't notice right away. I attribute it to the QF2 update because wife also has an S7 and experiences exactly the same issue.
In a matter of hours after reboot the internal sensors stop working or behave erratically. Sometimes the phone would go to the lowest brightness, the screen will not turn off by the proximity sensors during a conversation. Functions relying on shaking the phone stop working. Some (but for some reason not all) apps don't switch to the landscape mode. I downloaded several sensor testing apps and they confirmed my suspicions. After the reboot everything works, but several hours later sensors start showing random values or "no data".
Does anyone else have the same problem? With two affected phones in my possession it can't be a random fluke.
The phones are not rooted.
I had an issue where the phone no longer responded to "OK Google". Turns out I uninstalled all the updates to the "Google" app and reinstalled them from Google Play and that fixed it. I wasn't sure if it was the OTA for the phone or something else, but the OTA might have jacked something up somewhere. Have you cleared cache and such to see if that fixes it? Otherwise, I'm having no issues with the sensors not working.
Thanks for your suggestion. My phones are set for manual updates. I updated everything and rebooted. The sensors worked fo about 12 hours and stopped. Which cache you recommend to purge? Google app?
