Hi,
I repost here because I don't know if my precedent post is visible.
Does someone has managed to operate HD2Toolkit under wine? I have an error on the repartition: info:. \ RSPL \ rspl.cpp (736)
(same error on VirtualBox)
Thanks
I didn't even know Wine can run USB devices, so maybe your problem is caused by that
OK and with VirtualBox, is there any chance ?
Thanks
Did you right click and "run as administrator"?
Yes, but I think it's a driver problem.
On Magldr (usb flasher menu), my HD2 is recongnized as Windows Mobile.
If I try to install android drivers, Windows tell me that the driver is not for my phone.
It is starting to get urgent because I need my cell.
Thanks
which drivers are you trying to install?
There is mention in the hd2 toolkit thread of having to install drivers posted by T-macgnolia, do you mean these?
Also I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=895655 not sure if it helps, since probably already included in toolbox, but worth a try.
Do you definitely need the toolkit? What are you needing to do?
Edit; sorry for all these questions
I try with the driver which can be download from HD2Toolkit.
I try to reinstall my HD2 with android rom.
I did that a lot of time (with HD2Nexus, Paranoid or SlimKat), but with one Windows PC (that I have not).
Now I have just one Pc with Fedora.
What I do not understand is that I did not have much problem to wipe and install MAGLDR
Sorry for late reply, not sure what to suggest. My laptop seems to be too old to run Linux lately, and I have never used wine because i dual-booted before.

So I have figured how to do this, YAY, finally. without reinstalling OS.
You will need:
VMWare
WinXP installation disc (or image does not matter)
Artemis_USPL.zip archive
Activesync installation
Okay Install VMWare, make new virtual computer then install Windows XP on this computer.
Transfer all needed files to this computer.
Install Activesync
Connect phone, then connect it to virtual pc
run CID unlock
This should bypass problems with usb drivers in WIN 7 (VISTA) - 260 CONNECTION PROBLEM
I think it given a hardware problem

Thanks alot for sharing that driver! I didn't want to install a virtual computer only because of a not working driver. Finally my problem is solved.
But with Win 7 64 bit I still had to overcome the problem with the unsigned driver. I tied lots of things and finally got your unsigned driver working using this program:
"Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider 1.3b" you can find it on ngohq.com
Note: Read the installation instructions from the link above, it explains how to enable the Windows Test Mode and how to sign a system file.
Now ROM updating using Windows 7 x64 isn't a problem anymore.
Thys stuff should be pinned.

I have a folder for android stuff like fastboot and adb that I keep for fixing my phone. I keep the minimum files required for fastboot to work... adb.exe, adbwinapi.dll, fastboot.exe and the 64bit usb drivers.
I used to be able to use fastboot even after formatting my computer (and reinstalling the drivers), but it's been a long time and when I tried to do the same again, it no longer works.
Windows says the driver is not compatible with the device. I download Android SDK Tools to download the usb drivers there. They install, but fastboot still doesn't detect the phone.
I tried following tutorials out there to get fastboot to work, but I tried on 2 HTC Dreams and they don't get detected. What am I missing?
Only thing I remember being different is that I'm using Windows 7 x64 SP1 now and before I was using plain Windows 7 x64.
You need to use the usb driver removal tool and install the usb driver from SDK.
yes you've got my same trouble.
this is my thread.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1032249
i solved with backtrack 3.. don't ask me why because i don't know.. i just have a try with bt3 because i use bring it with me on my pendrive (it can ever be useful )

The old drivers I had were never installed. For some reason, Windows did not recognize a compatible driver. I did download a fresh set of drivers from SDK and windows did install them, but fastboot devices is not listing anything.

I see no reason why I can't use fastboot on Windows if it worked before. Perhaps if there is no other way, I'll try Linux distros.
It sound like there is no compatible driver for Windows 7 x64 SP1. Check google to see may be they might have an updates.

So there is an actual difference between win7 and sp1 in regards to the drivers and not that I set it up wrong?
From my experience on working with Windows. Every version always different. As far as how much different, I can't tell.
If you had it working with W7 before SP1, then there is a change in driver that causing it not to work correctly. Do you required to upgrade to W7 SP1? Or is that your preference?

Well that's all I can think of. Just wanted to know if anyone else had problems with sp1. I think faastboot should work with my winxp vms.. gonna try that next time I try to use fastboot..
Hi everybody,
I hope you can help me because I really can't find the solution:
When I connect my HD2 WP7-device to my computer it charges, but isn't recognized.
- Zune won't start automatically and won't find any device.
- Device Manager doesn't show any unknown device or something that could be my phone.
What I have tried so far:
- Used a XP3 and W7 x64 machine (also ones without any history with a WP7-phone)
- Used a lot of different cables
- Used a lot of different USB-ports
- reinstalled WP7
- reinstalled zune
- (de)installed activesync
- I'm not sure, but first I had a dual-boot solution with Android and I recall USB also didn't work there.
I started to think the USB-connection of my phone might be broken, but when I use MAGDLR, the USB works as mass storage and I can also use the USB flasher. The Bootloader also works, so I tried the following:
- (using bootloader) restored the HD2 in its original state with a official stock ROM and original (locked) HSPL
- Installed a Android ROM: the USB also does NOT work with WM6.5 or Android.
Does anyone know anything I can try now? And Yes, I have read all of the threads of other people with USB-issues and the MS-solutions, but none of them had the solution for me...
Coffee-donation for whoever has the golden tip
Hello guys, I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I am facing a similar issue.
I installed the LEO70 ROM on my HD2 when it first came out, and forgot all about it. I now want to install the NoDo (7932) update to test it out (and maybe move permanently to an Android ROM eventually when I decide I don't like it). I am facing an issue; I want to upgrade my MagLDR to 1.13 (from 1.12) and ROMUpdateUtility doesn't recognize my phone, giving me the 'Error 260 - Connection' error.
I did remove Windows Mobile Device Center a month or two ago... could this be the problem? I have the latest Zune software installed on my Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (x86-64) machine, and when I plug in the phone, Zune automatically starts and recognizes my phone, telling me there's a phone update available (from February that I need to install to enable future updates). I know it will kill my phone, so I won't install it. Also, USBMassStorage mode works nicely.
Any ideas?
Hi sclip,
I don't mind if you try to find an answer to your problem too, but it seems like a different one, because mine does work in bootloader/magdlr-mode.
BTW. I just installed the stock WM6.5 Rom of HTC, and USB still doesn't work! Can it be the radio of hardSPL or is it just broken?
****, after installing the stock WM6.5, it won't install another Radio/MAGDLR using bootloader, it stucks at the 0%.
I think I might haved destroyed my HD2

That did the trick, thanks. To bad it didn't help my USB problem...
since youve tried just about everything else try this
try using USBDVIEW and delete all the USB drivers
also install it on a different PC that hasnt had WP7 connected to it before
to continue with fault testing will requirer us to rule out the PC or the phone, at the mo it could be anything.
since you have Windows 7 install the XP virtual machine and use that, i believe the VM now supports pass through on USB so it should work, i have an old IrDA adaptor that wont install on my w7 PC but it will on the XP VM

Thanks for the USBDVIEW-tip, quite a nice piece of software! However it didn't help me with my problem. Using a computer which never had WP7 connected before didn't help either...
Hi,
I am trying to install my first ROM but none of the drivers are working for me, I have Win7 64bit is that the reason why? Does anyone know a work around as I don't have access to a 32bit version
Would be great if someone could help as I'm dying to get my first rom on this phone!
Thanks
it also says when I try to flash that rapi.dll is missing, however I have searched around and it is apparently in either ActiveSync or WMDC however I cannot find either of these that work on Win7 64bit
So install x86 version in second partition (dual boot), then you will be certain that everything will work.
I have x86 not x64 so I can not guarantee :/

don't actually open it it just installs what you need.
unrar and place the rapitools in the same folder as the rom installer.
I have windows 7 64bit Ultimate and I have not had a issue installing Roms to several different phones

Hey not a problem I have seen this asked in several threads and pretty much all the answers was just install Win 32bit instead. For me that was not a option to basically lose most of my functionality just to use one program. Either it works at a friends, I find my own solution , or it was just a screw it guess I ain't flashing.
Hello all,
I made a fresh install on my PC with Windows7 x86, because I bought a new and bigger SSD.
On my old Installation I had all the Tools for my HD2 installed, without any Problems. Okay, it's a long time ago I made the Installation, but it worked.
On the new System, I always receive a message when I try to install Windows Phone Power Tools that the Microsoft.Smartdevice.Connectivity.dll V11.0.0.0 is missing. I searched Google and find out that the dll will be installed by Windows Phone Developer Tools. But it's allready installed!! Also Windows Phone SDK 7.1 is installed.
I cant find any V11 on Google and no other hint how to install the DLL on my new System.
Any ideas from someone??
Thanks and Greets,
Masterslice
Okay, it seems that no one can help me out with this problem..
I made another thing, my old system is on the old SSD. I put back this SSD in my PC and booted the system.
As I found in Google, the location must be C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\CoreCon\1.0\Bin\, but there was no dll..
I searched for the mentioned dll and found it here:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Phone Tools\CoreCon\10.0\Bin\Microsoft.Smartdevice.Connectivity.dll in Version 10.1.40219.209
And the Windows Phone Power Tools were installed here:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\07VV00KK.TYR\L17KJWPJ.ZXY\wind..tion_89698295f69f556b_0001.0000_18b3ec4d3a81c136
Why a part of the folders has such kind of strange names, i dont know..
Next step was, I backup the folders from my old system and copied them to my new system.
Now I can start the WindowsPhonePowerTools.exe and connect with my HD2! It works!
But I cant understand why I can't install all from the beginning..
Better to make a Backup also from this programm!
Seems to be solved.
new WPPT is for x64.... only x64 can install WP SDK 8 needed for WPPT

Yes, thats the reason why I installed all the old versions, like the WPDT and WPSDK 7.1 with Update and Visual Studio and so on... I tried a lot, now way for me to fix this error! Only the posted solution worked for me!
I am happy now and I will install in a few days my old SSD into my Laptop with a fresh install from Win7 x64!

I am sorry, but I can't help you and give you the file.
Because I work now on my System with Windows 8.1 and I didn't installed all the Tools for HD2.
My HD2 is working, but I didn't used it since I got my Lumia820.
