AFAIK yes, but don't know it 100%... I use a original Samsung Flip Cover with induction charge support, only the charger itself is not original Samsung...

so it is not recommended to use not original kit of samsung then...?
will this ones fit with the normal back cover...?

I use a cheap Chinese receiver unit, it fits in my original back and works fine.
As the original charger back uses QI standard you must be able to use any QI charger regardless of the brand.

I tried a third-party Qi receiver and strongly recommend the genuine Samsung wireless charging back cover. I have it and also have the wireless S-View cover. Any charging pad will work but try to get one with three coils if you can.

[Q] Which Wirless Charger?

What wireless charger do you buy for use with this phone? Thanks.
well if they ever decide to release pricing and availability information I wouldn't mind grabbing the Fatboy Wireless Charging Pillow for the new Nokia phones.
This is probably a stupid question, but presumably the wireless charging won't work if there's a case between the back of the phone and the charging unit?

As long as the case isn't metal, it should still charge.
Since it appears Google isn't making their own, can someone list a few good wireless chargers compatible with the Nexus 4? Thanks.
just do a google for " qi charger" you'll find a few

Nope!
I would my best bet. The wireless charges that the iPhone use like that energizer pad?
#Galaxy Nexus HSPA+
Any QI Charger will charge the Nexus 4.
Touchstone chargers will not work.
Possibly this or the one-position variant of that product.
I have one of the Lumia 920 fatboy chargers, will that work?
I had the Nokia 900 wireless charger from Verizon and it wouldn't work correctly w/ my N4. It kept cycling from charging to not charging. I know it wasn't the chargers problem because it works fine with my dad's DNA. So not sure if I've got a faulty N4 or if the charger just isn't compatible. Anyone else try it?
I have the energizer wireless charger, while it works perfectly with my nexus 4, I must recommend against it.
The reason being the back of the nexus is glass, the surface of the charger is glossy plastic and combined with the slight angle of the charging surface, my nexus is happy to slowly slide on the charging surface.
Easy fix by putting some glad wrap on the surface, but detracts from the clean look of the charger

Exact same problem here (charging-non charging cycle). Neither the wireless charging stand nor the wireless charger on the JVC sounddock works for me (both say they should work with qi compliant devices however)

I got one from ebay and it only will charge without a case. Im using the panasonic qi charger.
On my S4, I use the wireless reciever from Monsterwatts.com with my Nexus 4 wireless charger- works great even thru the case
The one in your link looks similar... why not try it out and let us know? Its cheap enough.
Can we get the Qi wireless chargers for the Thicker 6400mAh batterys ?

Wireless charging kit advice.

If I want to set up my phone for wireless charging can I buy any qi wireless charger or does it have to be the one specifically for the s5? It's about £35 here in the UK, but I've seen much cheaper ones. I will already have to pay £30 just for the wireless charging Samsung back cover, unless there are any cheaper options for that too?
I'm new to wireless charging so am just after some advice to save some pennies.
Thanks..

I'll hijack ur thread to post another question since I wanted to get the wireless charging mini pad, do you always have to plug the pad in mains or does it hold charge itself?

Any Qi wireless charging pad *should* work. It's a standard so you shouldn't need a Samsung specific pad. That said, all charging pads aren't created equal. I've used no-name Chinese ones, Nokia ones and Samsung ones and I've stuck with the Samsung ones.
The downside to cheaper ones can be overheating (rarely to "burn your fingers" hot, but they can warm up quite a bit) as well as sometimes needing very specific placement on the pad in order to start charging.
I haven't used wireless charging with the S5 yet as I'm waiting on the cover (not the S-View one) being available, but I've used it with my S3 (3rd party receiver inserted under the cover) as well as with my S4 (3rd party receiver initially, and then later the official Samsung wireless charging cover).
@skivnit - The charging pad needs to stay plugged in to something. You may be able to plug into a portable charger (and some portable chargers may come with Qi charging built in, but you're probably paying a premium for those).
Then glad I did cancel my order as I thought I'd get rid of the cables for good might just buy one of those portable chargers

No Wireless Charging is bumming me out

I have (and love) this feature on my Nexus 7 and a Galaxy S4. Very convenient and works great (yes, even with a case on.)
That HTC didn't include it on the Nexus 9 is a bummer.
Looks like one "solution" could be to add an aftermarket QI receiver: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...ireless Charging Receiver film for micro-USB
I wonder how well that would work?

If using a Qi receiver, theres only 2 ways it can work 1) plug the Qi receiver and insert it between the battery and back cover, thereby voiding warranty OR 2) plug in the receiver and sandwich it between between the device and a case.
Neither solutions will be pretty.
But will a QI reciever stop charging when battery is full? Is this controlled by QI reciever or tablet?
I think they took it out due to it size...... I have not see something that size with wireless charging

My old HP Touchpad running WebOS and now also KitKat 4.4 has had wireless charging from the start.

It should, I'm pretty sure the QI receivers tell the transmitter how much power to send, and I'm sure there is a charging power management IC that stops charging intelligently or the battery would surely cause problems.

Does wireless charging still works with an iRing or similar on the back of the phone?

Hi just wondering if any of you guys are lucky enough to have the phone and also a iRing or equivalent on the back of phone? Does wireless charging still works normally especially with the Samsung fast wireless charging stand?

I doubt it'll work. I have a metal disc in my case for a car mount, and it covers the 'sweetspot' for the charger . I also think it will be too far from the charger base.

Wheres the sweetspot precisely?
Sent from my C6833 using Tapatalk
I cut 4 thin steel sheets and placed them around the sweet spot.
I then modded my choetech wireless charger and added Magnets around the charging spot.
The phone sticks to the wireless charger really well. Doesn't fall off while I'm driving.
Spigen just confirmed with me that their version won't work with wireless charging
