Ok guys , i want you to know that the exynos 4412 present in the s3 is a beast i will be writting all about it here !!
Hope you like it ..
Exynos 4412 is a quad packed cpu package with clock speed 1.4/1.6Ghz , has an architecture of cortex a9 32nm which was one of the most powerful architecture at its time .. It is accompanied by Mali 400MP4 clocked at 533Mhz , which was specifically made for 3d processing. Those four cores support up to 128-bit instruction internally, double what the previous Exynos supports. The chipset also has other potential advantages like USB-on-the-go, USB-host and -device regimes, as well as a number of other options, including the ability to connect up to four memory cards.
So , by now we get the image that this cpu is still a beast . But what about battery efficiency umm..
There come the Hot Plug functionality which has the ability to use any of the 4 cores at any clock speed and also has the ability to switch off its cores anytime it wants according to the user demand ..
So as we have 4 cores , when doing not so heavy work then only one core will be activated hence using a lot less battery as compared to other cpus . As said by samsung its 30% more efficient than exynos 4212 found in the s2 .
Also the cpu has a dedicated image signal processor for better image processing thats why s3 still has an awesome camera ..
If you want to know anything about this cpu ask , i will try to answer it .
why does it lag
Exynos 4412 is several years old by now and not in the least an interesting chipset.

Lol , the thing is that samsung apparantly bloats our touvhwiz roms and also when running a cuatom rom it does also because our complete sources are not available...hence making it a bit laggy..
Had our sources been available w Be would defeat nexus 4 in performance is custom rom stability.
I use a rom on my s3 which gives me 30k on antutu ... Thats better than snapdragon 600 ..
You wanna know how ???

Ask me anything what ever you want to know ?
A question please !!
How is it that it gives you 30k on antutu ??
Mine gives 26616 on antutu i am running aosp neat rom 4.4.4 with a archi kernel without any overclocking....
Why does Samsung underclock it to 1400Mhz, when it runs stable at 1600Mhz? GIVE THE PEOPLE THE SPEED!!
Because it will get heated fastly and the battery life will degrade very fastly

i roxk back to noot v6 + archi kernel 1.7.2 , cpu oc to 1.6ghz and governor set as zzmove battery plus , which uses our hotplug functionality to the best .
also i have zram enabled to 2 devices with 400 mb each that does for me .
you try out these tweaks you check what scores you get i am sure you ill get 30 or 29k
as i get 29k and sometimes 30k
if ypu want lollipop then nameless 5.0 by dhiru gives 30k pn antutu as well you might want to look into that

Our cpu can be safely clocked to 1.6 i recommend that too but i recommend it using along with zzmive battery plus governor which will not let your device heat up and even give bettery battery than pegasusq , oc it to 1.6ghz with zzmove battery plus i am sure you won't have any problems with power as well as battery !!

If the SGX540 in P1000 can be overclocked to 370MHz, the performance of it can be highly improved like in Overcome Kernel.
(Can be showed in Quadrant Standard Edition. When it is in 370 MHz, the fps in the graphic animation of DNA can be promoted to 60fps. And got no lagging in anything. The speed(smoothness is nearly reached S2 which is official 2.3.6)
But however, it doesn't seem that any ICS supporting kernel can set the clock of GPU.
I am sorry that my English is not good enough to represent my idea, but I hope you can get what I am talking about.
And the most reason I want it to be real is that the potential of P1000 is quite big and in fact it is quite good!
PS Antutu SetCPU app can set GPU clock in Overcome Kernel.
Dang, I never knew that our GPU can be overclocked ^^
since this tab is getting old, maybe its time to overclock the gpu also?
Personally I'm agree with this
Probs a little off topic, (also to bump this up a bit)
But the Gnex which uses the same GPU can be overclocked to 512Mhz (Stock is 300 something I think), improvement seems noticeable in apps and in nenamark, you go from 27-28ish FPS to 31-32.
It would really help the tab, it seems to show age now (which makes me lust over a 7.7......)
What I knew is the potential of SGX540 in GNexus and GT are different.
GT one is 200MHz and GNexus one is 374MHz.
In Overcome Kernel w/ GT, the clock of SGX540 can be set to 370~38X Mhz w/ no crush but when it is 400MHz , the machine is seemed to be lagged.
The benchmark in Overcome 4.1 plus Overcome Kernel 4.0 can be promoted over the GT 7.7 (of course the mark doesn't represent the real using experience but let's just look at the 3D mark)

Haha, yea I know they have different potentials Just that I thought I'd let you guys know how much better overclocking the GPU would be.
I think its worth it, there is little impact on battery life, but the improvements in apps and usage are noticeable.

I think the battery usage for extra cost of GPU is not as high as CPU.
It is being a great difference if we compared the overclocking for either CPU and GPU.
The consumption of GPU is low and it won't make the device hot as CPU overclocking.
And the temperature can keep around 35 to 36 degree Celsius under a room temperature 20 Degree Celsius.
The result screenshot I have posted is undergoing CPU overclocked (1.4GHz) plus GPU overclocked(370MHz) w/ overcome kernel and rom.
Success!!!

Hello, i have been trying to implement LiveOC into humberos's kernel and it is a success
LiveOC
This allows us to modify the bus speed which increase both the cpu and gpu clock at the same time using an app called NStools
i have only been using this for a day now and it seems to be working very well
please report back any bugs thank you,
BTW i will post the settings i have used in NStools and this kernel is for the latest MTD build
Link: http://www.4shared.com/file/216rF_WJ/boot.html?
My settings:
Governor: smartassV2
min CPU freq: 200MHz (240MHz after applying OC Value)
Max CPU freq: 1000MHz (1200MHz after applying OC Value)
OC target low: 200MHz
OC target high: 1000MHz
OC Value: 120%

I'll give that a try when I get home (or maybe a few days later). So which ICS rom did you try this on?
EDIT: In terms of quadrant (which I know can be a bit volatile... but a nice way/quick way to see differences), ICS gets a lower mem score :< 3d is slightly lower, 2d is about double (I suspect thats forcing 2d rendering). This is comparing the gtab score in quadrant, I haven't used GB on my tab for a longgg time...)

Octa-core Samsung Galaxy S4 caught cheating on GPU benchmarks. The real GPU Clock is 480MHz. When using benchmark, the Galaxy S4 GPU start ticking at 532MHz and continues to do so until you exit the app.
So, my question is,
How can we overclock our GPU to 532Mhz?
Maybe the devs can make the GPU always 532Mhz on Custom Rom like Cyanogenmod Rom to get the best performance?
The real GPU clock is 544MHz.

I read the article somewhere (can't give you the link because I'm new user), the real GPU is 480MHz. It only clock to 544MHz when you're running Benchmark tool such as 'Antutu Benchmark'. But after you exit the benchmark app, The GPU will clock to 480Mhz for battery saving. It will never use 544Mhz unless you're running benchmark app.

from my prespective, id'nt touch that ,since overclocking GPU eats up battery like crazy ,id only overclock it if need it for some big apps or games that lags on default gpu settings but i never had kinda issues so i just leave it on default..

Overclock SHV E330s
I've heard rumors that the SHV-E330s can be overclocked to 2.7Ghz however on inspection of my device get the impression that the processor is already overclocked which might not be true however i can not find a bespoke kernal to overclock the device. I have managed an Antu Tu score of 36118 before root and have not been able to improve the score beyond that score even after root and removal of the bloat wear.
I have seen a score of 45000+ on antu tu for the same device but with no details of how it was achieved.
If there is any genius out there that can make a overclock tool or works out how that super high score (which matches a speculation that the device runs at around 75% of its full capacity) I would be very interested in a repose.
The spec for the device would insinuate that it can score 45000+ and out perform the current Galaxy S3 which my device does however I still think I haven't unleashed the beast!
Device running on cut down stock Rom and Philz touch clockwork mod recovery.

running the cpu at optimum serves no purpose other than power consumption. Consider using a cpu tweak tool or app after rooting..
You can set up your system to run less than 5% of the overall processing power and configure it to increase its processing capacity on demand such as playing games or other features.
I suspect the E330S is a S4 that has been overclocked to 2.3. it would also account for why most users say that it feels like its overheating.
my e330s s4 running at 2.27 ghz.
it's overheating too much.
I checked the temperature its 79% round about.
sorry for my bad English.

Hey there, I'm in the process of updating to the latest Vanir build and the 8.0.1 Dorimanx F2FS kernel.
Till now, there has not been a way of overclocking the GPU of the LG G2.
But honestly? It would only cause the overall performance to drop. The G2 already has a hard time getting rid of the heat generated when running at 450 Mhz, so overclocking it would just generate more heat which, in the end, would result in an even more aggressive throttling.
With Dorimanx kernel, you can OC the GPU to 450Mhz, if I'm right the RAM frequency is not OC.
Then, there is a lot of tweak with STweak and Synapse.
The best thing that you can do is to try
I use it every days with the CPU @1.9Ghz and GPU @320Mhz without any lag.
I guess you will not succeed with F2FS... Not working for now.

My bad, you right, 450Mhz is the stock frequency.
Thank you for the prompt replies guys!
It's a little disappointing that those overclocking options are not available but this phone is still a beast! I was curious about those options as I am envious of new mobile chips such as the Snapdragon 805, 808, 810 and the Tegra K1.
It's the natural cycle for a phone. It's hard to admit and accept but that's how it is. I can't wait till there are more options of phones with 64 bit cpu.
BTW, 808 and 810 aren't even out yet.
is there a cm 12.1/13 kernel that would let me overclock the GPU and RAM bus as well and not just the CPU ? been skimming through the forum to no avail, currently on teamsek cm 13, it's great but i can't overclock the GPU and bus using it's supplied kernel, i'm even willing to downgrade to cm 12.1 if such a kernel exists for cm 12.1

Maan, you are still trying to OC the GPU?? I answered you 2 times already. IT IS OF NO USE! GPU OC will even slow things down due to heating up like hell! RAM connection is the bottleneck in our case, so it won't help at all, except your goal is the kill the phone to buy a new one very quickly...
