Does the Xoom block YouTube content?

I know the iPad will block lots of content, for no reason?
I accidentally discovered this after watching a Vevo video on my laptop but then when I tried searching for the same video on the iPad, it wouldn't even show up in the results.
Don't have my Xoom yet to test out.
Nope the android youtube app for honeycomb and froyo both have Vevo videos. I haven't seen any mobile blocked videos like I used to on my phone six months ago.
I was not aware of blocked content on the iPad, but no, by the looks of the the Xoom has everything youtube normally would.
I may have done something wrong, though I don't know how I could have, but "I Need a Doctor" by Dr. Dre from his VEVO channel would not play/load. Said it could not be loaded on mobile.
I tried this video on the Best Buy demo when I went to look at it. I was trying to think of a HD video I could play to try and see how it displayed. Since I just watched it previously, I knew it had 720p.
Can anyone play it on their xoom?

Vevo has it's own app, they don't show up in the normal android app, I don't think they ever did. Possibly different licensing issues at play here.

The Vevo app works fine on my Xoom..... till i go to play any video
If anyone else has Vevo working on their Xoom, Please let me know.
This may not help. But the VEVO app works on the XOOM. I watched some videos on it yesterday. Just remember to press HQ on each video or it looks like ****.

This is it. Google has some licensing agreements that prevent playback of videos on Mobile phones, but it's not bulletproof.
If you can't find it using the Youtube app, just go to youtube.com in the browser and you can view the video natively there.
With above.
Uploaders can specify wether they want to allow mobile devices to be able to search/view the video, at least with the Youtube app.

Soooper annoying. At least with VEVO app you can view music videos that were previously unavailable.
I recall with the EVO, the YouTube app blocked even more content.
VEVO will crash repeatedly. I had to use spare parts and turn off the Compatibility mode and now vevo works great.

Good news for purchased content

From todays press conference...
"Samsung Media Hub:
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 software update will introduce the evolution of Samsung's popular movie and next day TV content service, known as Media Hub. Media Hub has been redesigned with a new user interface and optimized video content for the 10.1" display for even easier downloads and higher quality viewing experience of rented or purchased content. Media Hub features thousands of new release and top-grossing titles from major Hollywood studios and leading television networks, including NBC Universal, Paramount, MTV, Warner Bros. , CBS and FOX. The new version also features Media Hub Show, which allows the user to playback Media Hub content on a TV through an HDMI cable from the Galaxy Tab 10.1 dock or adaptor. Users can register up to five devices under one account to access owned content across multiple devices without repurchase. Alternate premium video options include Android Movies, which is available to download from the Android Market."
Looks like paid content can now be viewed on your TV through HDMI
I was wondering if that would be the case. I assumed so..... but drm and streaming rules can sometimes be very restrictive.

Does media hub allow you to rent movies if you have root? Going to try on my tab tonight and was curious if I would be wasting my time.

I am rooted and was able use the mediahub movie download.
I'm rooted, I bought a tv episode, it worked fine.

[Q] Has anyone figured out how to cast s4 to sony blu-ray player?

Twonky + Roku = perfection for casting/streaming local videos in the bedroom, but I would love to find a solution for the living room where the humongous tv is. I get that I can buy Chromecast or such and stream that way, but with a tight budget we're hoping to run the blu-ray player til it dies The blu-ray player streams youtube, netflix, amazon, hulu, etc, and I've gotten so far as to download one app, PlayTo Sony, which displayed the name of my device on the screen, but showed no media to play, so got part-way there but no cigar.

Only the Blu-ray player has wifi. TV isn't a smart TV.

Yes, BDP-S570 shows DLNA yes. I got skifta to go so far as displaying all my musical artists/albums on the TV, no luck with the video section and wouldn't play any music files either says no file to play.

You just answered your own question. You don't have a 4k television, so obviously you can't mirror 4k on the TV...

Is there a way to show the videos? Yeah, just not in 4K. You can get a HDMI cable for smartphones that support it. Amazon and eBay have them for cheap. I got one for around $10.

So you don't have a 4K TV but you're complaining about your 1080P TV not displaying 4K?
Is this the Q&A thread?

Laptops downsizing resolution to screen default

The OP is not complaining about anything! I really wish people would read the question and if they have nothing helpful to add then not bother replying!
The question was simple, the phone can happily play a 4k video on its 1080p screen (It is not a 4k screen!) However when MIRRORING the 4k video will not play. The screen being mirrored is a 1080p screen so as such the video being played (despite it being a 4k video) is also being shown on the phone at 1080p yet it will not play. You are mirroring the screen not streaming the video in its native resolution. My view would also be that it should just mirror the screen without issue.
Can you provide a little more info;
Are you definitely mirroring the screen? Can you see your Launcher, an actual copy of your phones screen? My guess is that you are probably just sending files over individually which will probably not work.
If you are definitely mirroring, are you doing so wirelessly or over a cable etc...

HDMI Quality

When I connect my stock unrooted note 3 to samsung tv by hdmi the quality is only 30P. My tv tells me when I connect. I thought this phone was full hd? The picture is watchable but really disappointing. Is there any way to get full hd? Is there any way to wirelessly mirror screen without allshare? I don't want to look at pictures. I like to watch streaming video and it has no all share option. When I connect with hdmi I get true screen mirroring but only 30p. As long as I am looking at a ****ty picture it would be nice to do it wirelessly. I saw a thread that suggested using direct wifi but that does not do anything. Any ideas? Thanks.
What kind of streaming video exactly?
