Hi, so I was trying to root my phone using method 1 of this guide: galaxys5root.com/galaxy-s5-root/how-to-root-galaxy-s5. Just when I got to my very last part where I had 15 seconds to grant access, I was busy looking at my computer screen and didn't notice it, so it just went away Denied... What do I do to fix this?
Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum for more relevant answers.

ok so ive been trying to root my phone for quite sometime now, i always get somesort of an error message or failed attempt. Ive done the SimpleRoots and the unrEVOked type roots and for whatever reasons it doesnt work and i try to follow the instructions but nothing anyways i dont want to give up trying to root the phone, so i was wodering if someone had figured out how to root froyo? and if they could maybe redirect me to another site that could maybe help me out. thanks.
If you currently have the latest OTA, there is no root for it yet and trying the previous root methods on it will not work. If you do not have the latest OTA, what are the error messages saying?
Also, there is an EVO Q&A section for questions, so in the future, you may get more responses if you post there.
Bad choice for a first post.

hi guys i turned on s because iam sending this back to tmo. but i forgot to flash the stock recovery img and now i am attempting to root again with visionary. it says already rooted. but it wont give me permission. and the s is on. what do i do please help...
anyone...?
This is probably going to get moved to the Q & A forum before I can finish posting this.
I have yet to find an easier root process or an easier set of instructions to follow, than the following post...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=834225
Please read that in its entirety. This is such an easy process that anyone who gets lost or messes it up, might not want to try it in the first place. I'm being as honest as possible, not trying to be insulting.
Ultimately, S=On is part of the un-root process, soooo, you're back at scratch. This means you would need to start back at the top of that post above and follow the instructions on how to root your phone/get S=Off.
Good luck!

i understand BUT when i run visionary it tells me already rooted.... but when i type in su it says permission denied....
We're going to need some additional details. You on 2.2.1? Have you restarted your phone since and tried again?
I'll spell it out for you - it really is dead-simple...
(***paraphrasing the OFFICIAL instructions in the thread I linked to above***)
- Enable USB Debugging
- Extract the root.rar in the original post - MAKE SURE YOU PAID ATTENTION AND NOTICED THERE IS A ROOT FOLDER WITHIN A ROOT FOLDER - a nested folder. You do NOT WANT THIS. You want just one /root folder on your sdcard, within it at the .sh scripts.
- Install VISIONary
- Attempt Temp Root
- Run Terminal emulator, type su and follow the instructions in the original post to execute the script - reboot.
- When your phone comes back up, run VISIONary again
- Attempt Temp Root
- Attempt Perm Root
There is really no way to mess this up. I have done this on 6 MT4G's, so if it's not working, you didn't follow the instructions - no doubt, no question. You don't need ADB - you can do this all from your phone with a file explorer (I use EStrongs) and a terminal emulator (I use Android Terminal Emulator).
I'm surprised this hasn't been moderated yet...

What do you mean it "tells you already rooted"? I am rooted and just running VISIONary - that is, launching VISIONary - it doesn't tell you anything. If you click Temproot now, is that when it shows that?
You know you have to first do Temproot and then do Permroot, right? From what I've seen, you can't "over root," so honestly, I highly recommend starting over again. If possible, I would literally type out each and every step you're taking. Maybe it will show us where you're messing up.
Try a different version of visionary... r11 is my preference
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App

Good call. I thought about that as soon as I finished my last reply - i.e. check the VISIONary version.
I've been using r14 since my first MT4G and haven't had a single issue on any of the MT4G's I've used it on.

So that means you used the unroot.rar file and the process outlined in the first post? That's how you got S back =On again?

So what was it? It would help if you posted your mistake, so maybe it can help someone else that runs into problems.

Please post questions in Q&A section.
Attempted to root my device last night, followed all the instructions that were giving to me in the How to root thread. I opened Gingerbreak, no problems, I clicked root device, no problems, it said running exploit and just stayed on that screen for about 10-15 minutes without doing anything. What am I doing wrong? I followed all the steps given to me but im just not sure?
Get Iconia root.
Butt if you have.to ask this you might not want to root your device until you read the threads in the development section.
You could very well end up with a flat shiny brick
Good luck.Reading is power asking someone else to do your research is dangerous.
I've read through all the pages on the how to root your iconia tab, some people have had the same problem but said they just turn their system on and off and then it works, I did do that but with no success. I guess I shall just go back and have a bit more of a read of it.
Please Help Also
I have the same problem, and have had no luck finding the issue, if you fix your problem, please pass on the info.

Hey. I recently purchased a Kindle Fire and rooted it without a problem. I had problems installing the Android Market as every time I open it and I try to sign up , it force closes.
This morning I woke up to find that superuser had disappeared. I wasn't sure if this meant that it was just superuser gone , or if my kindle been unrooted.
I tried to reroot using SuperOneClick it but every time I try , it gets stuck on step 7 . I have a feeling that it was somehow unrooted as when I try to reroot it , it doesn't give me the 'already rooted' prompt.
So... the questions. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way I can get superuser back? Is there any way (without terminal , or rootchecker) to see if my kindle is rooted?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
I think there are too many other threads about this already. try using search our just look at the top 10 or so threads.
The SuperOneClick is not the current rooting method.
Ah , sorry about that. I'll search harder in the future.
I wonder if it's possible for superoneclick to amend this with an update.
Really... you should do some reading before trying something like that. It will keep you out of the I don't know what I'm doing camp...
A vast majority of the people asking for help, didn't bother reading through the whole process, or bothering to see what other users had problems with in the very threads that talked about how to do it. Just doing a little reading alone would solve most of their problems as they keep asking the same thing over and over and over...
did u have the 6.2 or 6.1 update on there and when u woke up it was the 6.2.1 update on there? that could bethe prob as 6.2.1 update breaks root and super one click doesnt work anymore
