Is there any way to activate the camera by double clicking the home button? This is one of the new features on the s6 and I quite like the idea of it.
Thanks.
Not as far as I've seen.....but I *can* activate it by single clicking on the vol+ or vol- keys........

yes it's very easy, with Apex Launcher I have assigned the home button to the camera, so when I'm in the home screen I just press once on the home button to start the camera, when I'm in another app or something I just double click to launch it. no wow feature to be honest, though it does not work when phone is locked with security lock, but I guess it will be possible to port it the S5 later.
Ah.....My bad.....that's what comes of scanning the forum when I should be asleep.....lol......
I read the OP as 'how can I take the picture'......not how can I START the camera app........
I can do this in NOVA too......
......need more sleep lol........

It's also an action in Tasker.
What I do, is use Nova Prime launcher. You need the paid prime to enable double tap options. Point the double tap option to the screen off app.
Then whenever you double tap in the launcher, the device turns off, just like Stock.
Thanks a bunch, most apps for this had bad reviews related to spamming ads. That's why I wanted to check what you guys would suggest.
I thought it would be as easy as just creating a small app myself with a single line of code.
Player911 I actually wanted to get a button so when there is no room on home screen to tap I would use the button instead. I wish we could replace the quick shortcuts in LG G2 that show up with swipe from bottom, add sleep option or turn off screen option.

But won't turn on, right?
Sorry if this is old news but I seen a few people asking if you could disable these especially over at the clean Rom thread cause the developer included soft keys in the rom. Anyways again I'm sorry if this is old news but you go to accessibility/access control. It then walks you through a series of steps like if you want certain parts of the screen to not be affected by touch and so on. I thought this was pretty sweet. Not sure if it's for all models and firmware but worth a shot!

No... I'm stock right now. I don't remember seeing it before so not sure how I got it there. Maybe from exposed?

It's all the way at the very bottom of Accessibility. It is listed under Recognition. Turn it on. Then hold down the home button and and volume down to enter the wizard.
It should be helpful for when I do note taking at a meeting so I don't have to worry about touching the physical buttons. But for Button Savior Pro it disables the Home, Menu and Back so it's not something I can have on all the time. Plus the notification drawer cannot be interacted with anymore while this mode is on.

I can open the drawer just fine. You just can't touch any of the notifications after you open the drawer.

Weird... Did you x out of the past that says disable parts of the screen with touch? Wonder why it does that.

As many of you know the double tap home button is a special feature to launch the camera of many roms.
I don't use this feature. I only use the home button to get to the home screen. The problem here is that the phones has to wait for the second click every time. I think the lag is ~200ms.
How can i disable this? It's so annoying for me, the phone feels sluggish because of this feature.
Go to camera and then go to settings and disable quick launch
Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Thank you but there is no option for that in the Note 3/4 camera. But i already installed the s6 camera and even that didn't fix the lag. I just want to get rid of the stupid waitstait. =(
just realized i can't take screenshots using the usual [home button] + [power button] combo (as in, nothing happens). i killed a couple of processes using package disabler pro, but not faceProvider (which i dont even see)
anyone else having this problem, any settings i need to change? just noticed some apps don't like screenshots being taken (e.g. standard chartered's banking app, which makes it difficult to send screenshots to show payment confirmation)
The only way that I could figure out was to use the "palm swipe" across the screen. Go to Settings>Device>Advanced Features>Palm swipe to capture set to "on"
Nothing else worked for me either.

You have to hold down the Home/center button and the power button for 3 seconds.. let me know if it works for you too
banking and protected apps no, you need to have root and xposed frame work and then down load a certain module to disable secure flag for screen shots system wide, then you can screenshot anything.
Palm swiping is much easier and built in.
Works for me, although I prefer the palm swipe to take a screen shot.
You have to hold them both down.
Press and hold them at the same time. If you press and hold one before the other, it might not work.
Palm swipe doesn't seem to work with nova launcher? Anyone else having that problem? Power and home button works though.
I'm also having a similar issue although in my case, when I hold down the buttons simultaneously...it launches "Ok Google" instead of taking a screenshot.
The palm swiping gesture works very inconsistently atm.
Maybe worth noting: I'm using the Samsung Good Lock app.
You ve to hold them on the same time for 2 seconds

Thanks, this helps!!!
My phone has flashed with International Stock Rom no mod.
Palm swipe so hard to use, it doesn't always work.
The Palm Swipe option get turns off couples time, no idea why.
When I turn it on first palm swipe works great, but after that no matter how I try it wouldn't do it.

I think this might be why my Palm Swipe would disable it self.
When I enable it, it would work for 1-2 times.
then how ever I try wouldn't do a screenshot.
Thank you

With palm swipe set to "on", It is working with nova launcher/Android 8.0 XSG region. Under nova launcher settings you have the options for swipe down or swipe up, maybe conflicting with the palm swipe capture. Try updating your Nova Launcher to the latest version to cope up with the latest OS. This may help.

I have the exynos variant. Is it possible to enable double tap to wake the device?
Need this too. Had LG devices for the last year, had double tap to wake sleep too.

I *think* it needs to be a ROM enabled feature.

Which app do you recommend? With very very low battery usage.
I came from an LG and I miss so much the double tap to wake and to sleep..

I wouldn't use any as I prefer the standard AOD.
However, you could try this one...

I use Nova Prime and have double-tap to sleep, but yeah, the dt2wake is the absent feature that is needed. Every time I pick up my wife's G4 I think about how nice that feature is!
I honestly thought I would miss this feature having used it for 3 years but the home button press is just as easy for me.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jamworks.knockz You might want to try knock on from playstore. But AFAIK any solution even a kernel solution will significantly drain your battery. AFAIK the devices hardware needs to be optimized for that feature allowing the digitizer to stay activ in a low powermode ( LG,Sony, etc). Anyone please correct me or add more details. Imo pressing the home isn't that bad. It's a question of habit.
Wake up screen
Hi guys,
Sorry for my bad English.
Here is what you need to do for waking up screen on S7
edge, in order to not to press the home button, or
power button.
You jus simply swipe the edge screen, and the message
With steps and notifications will appear.
When that happens, simply put your finger on home
button. (Touch, not press).
And the device will unlock. I think is the most
convenient way to do that. Not Nova, not rooted.
I hope I make myself understand here.
Have a nice day.
All kinds of stupid suggestions here. Just press the home button once and keep your finger touching the button until it reads the fingerprint. Probably as fast as double tap to wake but your device is also secured.
Double tap to wake is a feature that needs to be enabled programmatically at kernel level and the hardware must support it.
Galaxy S7 does not have this feature, at least at kernel level.
Any application that you install that enables double tap to wake is going to make a partial wake lock. It means that your phone is never going to deep sleep and it will drain battery very fast. You have to choose what you want most.
