Does anyone know how to replace the charging port connector ONLY? I already know how to replace the port flex cable that comes attached to the audio jack. I just want to know how to replace the connector and am wondering if it involves some soldering?

Hi All,
My S200 has served me very well. Unfortunately the mini-usb jack is jacked. My son dropped it in his baby food recently and when I was cleaning it out the little gray plastic cover for the USB wires came off....so when I look inside i see 5 wires coming out...unfortunately one of them is bent and so the USB cable is not working at all...
Is there any way to replace the USB jack? I'm pretty familiar with the insides as i have replaced the speaker and cleaned it out many times...where can i buy a jack if it's even possible? Thanks in advance!

Just buy one and solder it?

The socket for the USB charger is loose. How do I fix it? To let you guys know what I am talking about let me attach a picture. Also, Now I can't charge my phone.
the mini usb is soldered to the main board so if you know how to take the body apart and solder it urself go for it.. or u can go to any phone repair guy to get it done its not a big thing just the usb port just need to be soldered in place again.

Devil Slime is right just get it soldered by some Repair Guy and your Wizard will be up and working in no time. But you should get it fixed by some shop dont try yourself if you dont know how to. TC
The USB port on my HD2 (T9193) is basically shot. The clips that normally hold cables into it are all but gone, so any USB cable you plug into the phone falls out if you so much as look at it wrong, which is a real pain when it's charging, you pick it up to check something, and the cord just falls out, or you're trying to put files on it with a USB cable, bump it, and the USB cable falls out.
Anyone have any experience replacing this? What tools will I need? Where can I order the part?

If you're an experienced soldering specialist than everything will be OK, otherwise I wouldn't recommend you even try!
Ditto, If you think you have the skills to micro solder it yourself, the connector is $8 on ebay, and the wiring diagrams are here:
www.ebay.com/itm/260913779440 microUSB $8

If the connections still work, a better option would be to leave it as is for the occasional file transfer or flashing, and do the charging via induction. Amazon has the HD2 PowerMat Induction Charging Door for $6, and the base plus a somewhat universal microUSB door is going for $5 today at CowBoom (BestBuy's DailyDeal online clearance site).

links provided in above thread if you want to mod the $5 droidX combo pack into the HD2's car docking port next to the battery.
I had a go on a cheap one I got from ebay, the usb port had fallen off.
The connections/soldering points are very small, I mean tiny, and really wouldn't recommend it unless you are very good at micro-soldering and have some good tools.
Peace
Hi,
So I decided to overhaul my phone. The audio port was worn out and my charging port was getting loose. I ordered both new audio port and charging port board. The audio port was a snap to replace but the charging port board has me a little confused. It appears I accidentally got a 900H instead of a 900T. I noticed there is one missing connector on the 900H that has a little wire that goes to it. I have included a picture of my old 900T board with the extra connector circled. I am puzzled what it is and why it is there and not on the other board. Can any one shed some light on why this is there and what it does? Can I install it without it?

The part is made for multiple model revisions. Those are antenna connections. Different models use different antennas. Be sure your data connection is working properly. When you purchase parts, always refine by the specific device model. :good:
Hello,
I would like to know whether this problem (broken flex cable connector) is fixable or not? If yes, can you guide me.
Thanks.
