Hi Guys, i want to ask few questions.
Im still on android 4.4.2 and want to update to 5.0.
But before that i want to ask if The battery life and perfomance is better.
Specially the battery life.. I will factory reset it so it will be fresh.
And whats new in it.
Thanks
You should do a factory reset.
Battery life: Much much better, technically 25% or so. I was easily getting 6 hours screen on with LP.
Performance: No, not better. I mean maybe in some parts, but not everywhere. Get one thing straight, LP 5.0 is an unfinished business of Google, and there are plenty of apps and games which are not really compatible and will lag, so keep that in mind.
By the way, a question should go to Q&A section mate.

Have a read at this thread , it may answer all the questions you have regarding Lollipop.
i was on LP and i downgraded back to 4.4.2
1st, it is so bright & i don't like the general aspect, regarding battery life, it is good but only when on standby mode, otherwise i see no difference between KK & LP, to be honest, i am still on KK because of galaxy S5 stock ROM by @JAMAL 2367, it is really 0 mistake ROM!!

Hello just a quick poll for Nexus 4 users. I've held off installing 5.0.1 as from scanning the threads it sounds too buggy. But thought I would canvas your opinions as to whether the problems are major or minor.
Keep in mind battery life is particularly important as I feel my battery drains too quickly as it is already.
I recently upgraded my Nexus 4 to 5.0.1 and all it good. Battery life seems fine.

No problems with the battery here on 5.0.1.....In fact no problems at all, and my phone is now much faster and smoother. Not to say there are not issues, just that I have not experienced any of them.
I miss KK but i had to get over myself and get Lollipop. I still think Holo was better than Material Design, but all apps are working better on LP..........batt life is same
Wait for lollipop 5.1, stay on kitkat for now is my advice
Hello,
I am a SM-N910C user. I bought my phone and it had 5.0.1. The performance was great, so was the battery life. Then after a month later, I received the 5.1.1 update, updated, then instantly downloaded Wanam ROM. Currently, I am losing 1% of battery every 4 minutes SOT. My cousin is losing 1% every 7-8 minutes, who has a S6. I know the battery life on 5.0.1 is better, right? But not the performance. Also, I have read that 4.4.4 has the best battery life, but what about the performance? I am still new to the Note 4, but I really need help from you brothers on this. I want someone who knows enough about this device to tell me what I will lose or win if I update or downgrade through any of these OS versions. The best will be posted here in the Original Post for everyone else to see.
Thanks in advance!

I have the ATT n910a, and we just got the 5.1.1 update Friday. The battery life now is MUCH better than on 5.0.1. 5.1.1 seems to be very close to 4.4.4, but 4.4.4 may still have been a little better.
AFAIK, the only differences between 4.4.4, 5.0.1, and 5.1.1 is battery life, performance and Stagefright patches.
4.4.4 was slow, but great battery. I'm not sure if it was vulnerable to Stagefright though.
5.0.1 was faster, but had a ton of system bugs, which affected memory and battery. Later patches were made to fix Stagefright.
5.1.1 is the fastest and has most of the major bugs patched.
Other than all that, Lollipop in general brought the new Material color theming.

Hello fellas. I am having a note 3 N900 exynos variant which i had bought in dec 2013. I had rooted my fon and was going smoothly. I was fascinated by the charming looks of lollipop and i updated my os. All that glitters is not gold- the update literally taught me that. Very poor battery performance (100 to 0 in some 8 to 10h with screen time of 3h ,just moderate use with internet on. No gaming, no movies etc). I decided to buy a new battery thinking it will solve the issue and bought it online frm Amazon aftr reading all the reviews. I got the product today ans its much worse than my original battery. By 5h the battery is 38% !!. I am asking for a refund for the battery which does look original in its case ,serial no etc. Now i feel the major battery eater is lollipop itself and now i am thinking of going back to kitkat. I have a few questions, pls do answer them.
1. Can i revert back to kitkat like how i updated using odin and the firmware frm sammobiles ??
2. Will rooting the lollipop and installing greenify ,tb etc and removing the bloatwares help improve the battery life and reduce the ram usage ??
3. I would like to know wats the battery life of similar users with a 2yr old note 3
4. Please give detailed description of reverting back to kitkat ,things to be taken care not to brick the device
Tons of thanks in advance ☺
If I were you, I would give Temasek's CM12.1 (forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development/hlte-spr-vzw-temaseks-unofficial-t2953375) (IF IT SUPPORTS EXYNOS... ^^) build a try. I use it on my daily driver incl commercial usage for work. I take it off the charger @7:30 AM and later the day at about 9:30 PM I have about 60 % left. I would not recommend to hop back to an even more outdated OS at all. Samsung's support for our Note 3 is gone and if you wanna keep secure and up to date you really should try Cyanogen Or Temasek's UNOFFICIAL Cyanogen.
Otherwise... yes, you can revert back the way you updated by Odin. Just be sure that you really loaded the correct Firmware of course.
Btw, You can check this one out, too. Its a heavily de-bloated TW Firmware based on official Samsung. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=57756091) (IF IT SUPPORTS EXYNOS... ^^) I used it before I witnessed Stagefright security problems and YES battery thanked it a bit compared to official builds ^^

Turn off your phone, and then turn it on pressing and holding Volume Up, Home, and Power button at the same time until you see a warning. Then press Volume Up to continue, and navigate using volume keys and select wipe cache/factory reset with the Home button, then reboot.
Please note that by doing this all your data will be lost.
After doing the above-mentioned download Advanced Battery Calibrator, and Repair Battery Life.
hello,
i've seen this video about comparison of battery life test between KK and LP for the lg G2,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KV_3XWEzfic
as i saw, there is a big difference between KK & LP, is that really true ? because as i've seen on some articles, people complaint about battery life drain on LP
so what's your result after using LP on G2, does the battery drain faster ? or it really long lasts as the video shown ?!

My dude, that hype about lollipop having bad battery life is true, but partially. The thing is, I call them "stupid" users who update their android without wiping and then have problems and complain, shout and all the stuff blaming LG for that. You will get the same battery life you get with kitkat IF you clean flash! Factory reset/wipe and then flash it for fresh start and the battery life will be as good, if not better, because I think lollipop manages GPU better so when watching youtube, you get even less battery drain compared to kitkat. I'm not sure tho, but you can not be worried about the battery life on lollipop!
There was definitely a big battery life drop between stock KK and stock/AOSP LP.
I installed and paid for the full version of servicely - which displays which apps are waking up your wakelock and lets you disable them when the display is off.
Hey!
Got my 6p yesterday, finally after my old nexus 5 didnt want to take my abuse no more.
My question : which stock image is best for battery life? I've looked around, but have not been able to find an article. Hoping you guys have tested and can let me know. For the time being I'm sticking to MM as I dont want to struggle with issues on my new phone, I just want it to be the best phone it can be
Hoping for a good answer!

I've installed it now to test, but fearing all the negative battery comments i've seen. But we'll see. If anyone has any input about the best MM rom for battery life, plz tell me.
Still wondering which MM image is best. I see the title is missleading.
Suck it and see. I've had hugely better battery life with 7.0, others haven't.
