Hello,
By misstake I wipe in recovery everything. Now OS is not installed.
It is possible to boot in recovery TWPR and bootloader. I can flash a rom if I had one on the phone.
I connect to the laptop with windows 7 but the laptop doesn't my G2.
I get the usb error not reconized.
I reinstall lg drivers, install drivers with official flash tool. Nothing helps.
Has someone a idea?

Ok I have to buy a USB OTG stick/cable and connect with a usb stick (with rom) to my phone?
Recovery sees than the rom?
You must mount usb drive in recovery and flash your zip from there

Today tried with usb otg cable.
Connect the usb otg to my phone with a usb stick fat32 format. I can't select usb otg in mount.
Tried it with a external harddrive with own power supplies and format as fat 32. Same problem, not possible to select usb otg in mount.
Tried usb otg cable with usb stick with other G2 with same TWRP amd everything work.
It seems the usb otg cable and usb stick are alright. The problem is my phone.
Is it really dead now?

The probem:
USB Mass Storage not working in Recovery. I tried everything, reflashing different recovery but its not working, it doesn't give an error message. When card is not inside however it does complain. SdCard is fine because I can flash zips that are on it. Tested on both windows and ubuntu. tried another card as well
USB Mount doesn't work in CM7.2 or any rom or nand restore i've done recently. I had Insomnia at some point, then inferno, then cm 7.1, none of these restores work. Again here no errors, I do not even see the sign for usb detection. usb debugging is enabled/disabled no difference. phone however still charges though.
I'm on a trip right now, but I've not had the chance yet to get another usb cable but the two I have dont work.

He has tried two cables, so I would tend to lean toward the port.

i am in the same boat. looks like my charging port is bad. anyway to replace the charging port? i am not good with soldering
it's not ur usb port
it's htc.. htc devices doesn't support usb host feature.
If you have a rom and kernal that do support usb host then try powering the usb as the htc devices do not provide power out.. use usb Y cable

What? He isn't trying to host the connection. He is trying to use his phone as a USB mass storage device.
Where did you get USB host from in his questions?

Hi all,
I am having the same problem, except perhaps with a different cause. My user account on Windows 7 became corrupt and I can no longer log in, so I had to create a new one.
On the new account, my myTouch 4G is not recognized for mass storage/disk drive mode via USB. The USB cable does work, the port is okay, and I've used both with other devices. The myTouch shows as charging when connected to the computer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all of the myTouch drivers, restarted computer and phone, to no avail.
When it is connected in USB, it shows as generic "Drive F" and is inaccessible. When I check properties it says mytouch4g. When I check "Devices" it is recognized as portable storage. I have tried with USB debugging on and off, and have set "connected to computer" mode to disk drive.
Any thoughts? I thought possibly loading the generic ADB driver again might help, but I cannot get to the stage where I can force it to load that driver instead of the HTC one.
When I plug in my Nexus 7 to the computer, the USB options would not show up, no matter the USB cable. It still charges, though.
I tried to flash a new ROM with F2FS filesystem, so I formatted system and data in Recovery to reflect that, but when I went to Install the rom via TWRP (2.8.3.0), it apparently erased the internal SD card and now I have no system, no sdcard, or basically anything on the sdcard but the recovery. I can't get my computer to detect the device in ADB mode. What can I do?
Have you tried the mount usb in TWRP? If you formated every thing you should be able to move rom to sd card.
I haven't, but I don't have a USB OTG cable to do that.

You should be able to use computer and see sdcard.
I've done it when nothing else was working.

I might not be understanding you correctly. Do you mean connecting the tablet to the computer, and then in TWRP, "mounting" the USB OTG? I tried that, and the USB OTG refused to become checked.
I can "see" the sdcard in the TWRP file browser, it's just that the sdcard got wiped, so now it's empty.
I want to flash roms to my note3, since yesterday i tried everything. problem is i cant use my usb cables to transfer data to my phone. device is not recognized by computers. i tried 5-6 different usb cables some of them work with other devices, tried to remove drivers and reinstall them, tried mac, linux, windows 8.1 device is not recognized. even in download mode when i plug usb cable it charges only. i crawled through google found some kernel related problems which i cant do anything about it without working usb cable, i think my usb port might be broken somehow.i don't wanna buy usb port flex cable if there are any other solutions.

MicroUSB connector may be damaged. You should be able to use adapter to connect the MicroSDHC card to a PC, copy the new ROM etc. to the card and install from there.

I think that he would not be able to install a new ROM from the card, as he would need a custom recovery that in this case can't be installed, because the phone is not detected by the computer.
To anyone faces similar problem, i have replaced usb charging port and problem solved. its very easy to do.

Glad you were able to replace the USB port on the phone. regarding being able to do the first install of a rom without a PC, if you can get root (in the case of an AT&T Note3, with Towelroot), then I believe you can use MobileODIN to install ROMs without a PC.
I had a different phone, a Samsung Galaxy S with a damaged USB port with no data connectivity that a repair shop was unable to repair it.
Hi,
USB OTG on my Verizon Droid Turbo 2 with Android 6.0 is not working with any USB device I've tried including mouse, keyboard, or thumb drive. The DT2 doesn't respond nor even appear to supply power to any of the devices I attach.
The DT2 Micro-USB otherwise works for charging and connecting to my PC. I've tried multiple cables listed on Amazon as "(10-Pack) BuyCheapCables 6" Micro-USB OTG (On The Go) to USB 2.0 Adapter Cable" that have worked well for me in the past.
I ran the app USB OTG Checker from Google Play with USB OTG System Result = "Your Device OS has USB OTG API !" and USB OTG Signal Result = "System NOT Detect USB OTG Signal"
Frustratingly, youtube videos seem to show OTG success in similar scenarios. So, please any advice would be appreciated...
I'm having a related problem. Otg-usb works when phone is booted normally but when in recovery with TWRP 2.8.7.1 I try to back up my device, I see otg-usb, but can not select it as the target destination. It is formatted Fat32. I try to reformat it in TWRP and it can't write to the media. Get an error to that effect. Note5 MOAR Rom 5.1.

My issue seems hardware related in that any USB device I try to connect gets no response or power from the phone.
I spoke to a few sources on this and most helpfully went to my local VZ and tried on another DT2. Looks to have worked and I'm hoping the new DT2 they're sending me will solve it. A Samsung S7 also worked.
Hello, I wanted to install a new ROM to my Samsung S4.
Unfortunately it failed and I have deleted the old OS and all files.
I can't use my external sd card in this phone, so I have to connect the phone via TWRP (V.3.0.2-0) with my computer.
I have tried a Win7 Starter Netbook and a Win10 Notebook and I cant' see my phone. I have tried to install the ADB drives, which where recommented here (https://highonandroid.com/android-r...r-android-in-a-bootloop-with-no-os-using-adb/) and still no chance.
I can charge the phone without problems and I have shortly tried it with an USB stick with Linux.
Should I buy a UTB OTG adapter for an USB Stick or do someone have some hints for me?
You should try different USB cables and USB ports to flash a stock ROM using Odin.

Ok, thank you. I have tried different USB cables and USB ports. I didn't have flash a ROM via Odin for a long time.
Where did I find a instruction for it and the correct files?
I didn't see "Added" in Odin, when I try to connect in Download Mode.
If Odin doesn't assign a com port to the phone, you may need to install the Samsung drivers.

The drivers installed properly? What's the exact model # of the phone? Is it possible the phone's USB port is damaged?

It's possible that the drivers may not install without having admin rights on a Windows machine.
The usb contacts for charging are not the same contacts used for data transfer; therefore, a usb cable can charge the battery but not transfer data. Does the phone recognize an otg drive?
There isn't much you can do until Odin assigns a com port to the phone other than trying with Heimdall.
I have bought an usb adapter for usb sticks and in TWRP the stick is shining, but I can't see the files on the stick. I have tried to mount USB and I don't understand, what I have do to next, because I didn't see any difference, I can't go back and try to find the files.
The USB port contacts for transferring data may be damaged.
