My friend have a Verizon Nite 3 and he was having issues with his gps. The issue was that the gps was showing incorrect location.
The solution that worked for him (after we tried so many things) was using the below free app from playstore and reset his gps.

Anyone having the same issue please give this a try and let us know if this worked.

In an effort to try to help the people with gps issues this is my theory/solution on the issues with GPS and it worked for me. My vibrant was built on 10/20 and came with preinstalled JI6 update out the box. The JI6 was an OTA update that was supposed to fix the GPS issues, it worked for some and it didnt for others. So im thinking why it didnt work for others is that they tried various other "lag fixes" like tweaking the LBStest settings and installing a seperate gps fix, although it might have worked for some again it didnt for others so Samsung released the GPS restore app to reset the settings for GPS. I flashed many Roms saying "fixed GPS, improved GPS" when it actually stayed the same or worse. So my solution is this, ODIN back to stock JFD then ODIN the JI6 both can be found in the "Bible" in the development thread. If that doesnt fix the GPS download the GPS Restore app from samsung (market) then go to your lbstestsetting (*#3214789650#) and Delete GPS Data run Samsungs GPS Restore. This worked for me many times and hopefully itll work for you. All this is really doing is how Samsung designed the GPS work through their updates and their settings and its working fine for me, also download the new version of Google maps it made my gps lock better and the compass functions with no hitch at all, Good Luck!
*Can't seem to find the Samsung GPS Restore App
Hi, I've just recently purchased a Vibrant and am having several issues with my GPS.
I've tried several fixes but none seem to work.
I noticed you mentioned a Samsung GPS Restore app. I've tried finding it through the Android Market but can't seem to find it.
Do you know if it's still available on the Market?
Thanks,
Matt

Don't worry about the app. It does nothing but restore the settings on your GPS which wont fix it.

Hi xriderx66,
Any recommendations on fixing the GPS?
Is this a software problem or an internal hardware issue?

Greetings all!
Ever since updating from 2.1 to 2.2 my phone (i9000m) has not been able to acquire a GPS signal. I tried everything I could find on xda and online to no avail. While the 'Test GPS' application was able to identify satellites, none of my applications could (not even Google Maps!). Miraculously, I stumbled upon a solution earlier today. Once I turned off my Wifi (and I don't mean 'Use Wireless Networks'), my GPS started working instantly. The signal locked on FAST and was ACCURATE. I don't know why this happens. Maybe the Wifi interferes with the GPS? Anyways, I decided to share this right away in case it could help others with a similar situation.
Jonnie
P.S. My GPS settings are stock settings other than my Accuracy, which is set to 30m.
On Google Navigation, GPS Essentials, GPS Status, it can never get a fix. Everything needed is enabled, tried multiple reboots, etc, still not working. Left it there for like a hour and after still no fix. GPS Essentials doesn't even see any satellites while trying to get a fix.
Any fixes for me or is this just a hardware issue?
Are you testing in a big open area? That's where I would test first. Is your 3G data working? With 3G data, it locks significantly faster than without it.
Tested in both outdoors and indoors by a window, doesn't even see 1 satellite.
3G data is enabled.
Might be a HW thing. Try flashing stock 2.3.4.
Hi , i had this problem but after several weeks and many searches this thread helped me to solve:

hope to help you too
Hmm, what exactly did you do? I've already cleared the Gps cache multiple times.

everything has expressed there...
Can you explain what you did step by step? In the other thread you just said how it just worked after a month...
Thanks,

it's definitely a hardware issue, have the same problems.
SNR values stay below 30! Insufficient to get a good fix.
Tested many gps fix apps, all not able to solve.
Fixed my problem by using an external Bluetooth GPS Antenna (old Nokia) and GPS Bluetooth app from the Market. Now GPS fix in seconds, SNR values above 40.. constant fix never looses signal etcetc...
Antenna on device is to weak!

of course ,see the post no.9 in that thread
i did that by using XXKD1 radio ,now i'm on XXKF1 and think it has weaker GPS config....
edit : dont forget to turn on GPS and WiFi for downloading data
Ive looked on this site and Oneplus's fourms and i cannot find anyone with the same issue as mine
My GPS lies and teleports me to a specific place, i dont know where it is but its somewhere in Manitoba and im in Toronto
This affects every app except google maps. Google maps knows exatctly where i am at all times.
sometimes my gps is fine after a reboot but my gps is mostly in manitoba
While currently its in toronto i conducted a gps test with the *#808* menu and it came back as "failed" but it works fine.
although it works now im 100% sure im going to be teleported to manitoba again, please help anyone!
Hi all,
I revived my old xda account I made in 2011 for this I've never had to post on XDA for an issue and usually can just find a solution by searching the threads.
About a month ago, my gps stopped working. It will occasionally triangulate by position via wifi wignal, but the gps does not contribute. On the GPS test app, there are about 20 satellites in view, but no lock. Further, all of these satellites are read as having a weak signal.
Things I've tried:
Regular reset
Wipe and reset
Clearing and redownloading AGPS data
Taking out the sim and rebooting (apparently this has worked for people...no idea why)
Resetting network credentials
Finally I unlocked the bootloaded, flashed TWRP and rooted the phone via Magisk and modified the gps.conf file with the TopNTP app. Tried a generic file and Canada specific file
I am starting to think this might be a hardware issue Maybe some corrosion from all the condensation in my scrubs at work? Probably not great for a non-waterproof phone. Any other ideas would be awesome and appreciated!

Have you checked out this discussion https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/guide-how-to-fix-improve-gps-lock-t3815263 ?
That looks very promising! I'm going to try it tonight after work.
There is an app in the play store. I think it is called GPS Status. It has sensor testing functionality and can tell you if the GPS or other sensors are simply not working.
