HI Guys
My nexus 7 digitizer is now broken , the screen is ok but only with a fine crack but the touch is completely busted
anyway the repair shop offered me a replacement for both screen and digitizer but unfortunately i lookied it up and the brand was ( CHUNGHWA) the original is (HYDIS) and i could not find that hydis anywhere
my question is , did anyone replace the screen with that CHUNGHWA and found any difference regarding color depth and quality , resolution ...etcc...? because one of the main reasons i like my nexus is the screen
i was also offered another generic screen replacement from another guy that told me that it was a copycat for original for a mch lower price but i am not sure
PS , i also found a digitizer online but i am not sure if the digitizer onl ycan be replace
thanks a lot guys

Hi!!!
just though id share with you...
I just called HTC europe to enquire about getting my cracked screen repaired-
£150 is their "general cost" it could be more or less, depending on severity, they told me.
and that it could take a minimum of 2 weeks, with pickup and delivery included as long as it's in warranty...
Then i asked about the screen type it would be replaced with, in light of the recent news that there is an AMOLED shortage...
and they told me that SLCD will be the standard replacement screen from now on!!!!
yay!!!!
Darren
I wonder if there will be a flood of cracked screens now ..........
Would like to see a direct comparison here before I crack mine ..........
LOL
i hope not, otherwise they'll run out of SLCD too.... and then what.....
iphone-like retina displays.... OOOoooo
here it is: comparisons
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gY6qpnoziZM&feature=player_embedded
But they wouldn't replace our screen with AMOLED anyways... the shortage has no effect on our screens.
I doubt 4.3" slcds are being made
If this is true , that would be amazing SLCD on HD2 very very nice
Yay, if what you're saying is true, maybe no more multi touch issues.

First, the HD2 never had an AMOLED screen, so, shortage in amoled screens?Strange!
in any case, too bad i can't benefit from this given that my property insurance would replace my phone right away and not bother with the screen =)
expensive
A little too expensive for me to want to crack my screen
After I've changed my HD2 screen for about 1 week. (because the touchscreen is broken) I found that the color is change (not be the same as the old one).
Is it possible to calibrate screen color on HD2?
Thank advance

Theoretically it's possible, if you changed LCD too.
If LCD done done too, sounds like it was either a cheap one or faulty. Is viewing angle also very poor!. Had trouble with all LCDs I have ever purchased here in Thailand as most supply sources get the cheapest rubbish from China possible & lie with claims of original part to top quality grade replacement. Buy all my parts out of Thailand cheaper & with better quality ...
So recently i got hold off nexus 4 with broken screen, backlight didn't work
But now i bought a new lcd with frame and everything and the result's are same.
Everything else is working properly (call, msg, camera etc.) but i can only see the screen when watching to the sunlight
Can someone help me with that or i need to buy a now motherboard for it
Sorry for bad english
My phone fell on the floor and screen broke.
I want to buy a new one on Aliexpress and i have 2 questions.
1. Is it better to buy the screen with the frame or just digitizer and screen and if anybody changed theirs if you have any advice.
2. I hade a white/rose gold combination and now i would like to buy black front instead of the white one. I think that there is no difference but i would still like to ask if i would have any problems just becouse of the color?
Thanks!
Hello,
1. I suggest you get the one with the frame > much more easier than without it, and removes the possibility of making a horrible mistake.
2. I don't think the colour will cause any problems, it's much more easier to manufacture the same screen with multiple colours than to make totally different screens. So I think you are good to go. But I can't cover my opinion with a fact, so there's that.
Hope I helped ya bit.

Hi its better to buy one with a frame and the color doesn't matter but since you have the gold version. I would suggest you stick to the white its looks much better. I did the same an bought an LCD with frame from Aliexpress and replaced it myself. Here is a video that will help you disassemble your phone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_VMcIX0hJY I would suggest you first watch the video before you start. I did the same before i started. You can follow and pause at each step. Good Luck. Its an easy task but one point to note is the fingerprint sensor is easy to jump out of its connector. I would advise to test the screen before you screw the phone back up.
So I purchased an aftermarket LCD for an S5 I have here. It's for my mother so she wouldn't even notice the difference between AMOLED and LCD once it works. I'm having a problem though that with the new screen the phone keeps hanging on the screen with the Samsung logo and restarting. It can do this multiple times before finally booting whereas with the original broken screen it works first time. Has anyone had a problem like this before and if I was to even use a custom rom should that help? As I said once the phone works that's all she'll care about really.
Did you REALLY think Samsung endorses the use of LCDs? They need a driver, which the ROM doesn't have. All it has are the drivers for the AMOLED panel and the touchscreen IC. LCDs need a separate driver, but the AMOLED LEDs operate independently. Do yourself a favour and get an ORIGINAL AMOLED panel, not some cheap a** chinese clones.
Dude, if you have the money to buy an expensive phone, it's automatically implied that you have the money to service it. You buy phone with AMOLED screen, you pay for the AMOLED screen. Why do you think iPhone screen repairs are so cheap? LCDs are dirt cheap, and most iphone users are dumb enough to not notice the difference in quality.
I've tried an LCD marketed as "Replacement"
it had a blueish tint and no finger hover would work. I had to send it back because of the cheapness. Spend some more 30s and get an original service pack, which also has an already glued double sided tape (which originally as it is, it starts to peel off on my phone)
Yeah that was a dumb idea but in the title he had it listed as amoled. She wouldn't really notice though and I can pay 180 to cex for a working s5 or else 120 for an amoled screen so it's probably better to just get the whole phone which includes a charger too lol.
