S5 Lollipop application manager - Focus General

Has anyone ever realised that whenever you update an app, data that's stored in sd card will automatically store back in device storage?
This has never happened to me before upgrading to Lollipop.

[Q & A] Play Store Error - Couldn't install on USB storage or SD card

[Q] The Play Store gives me this error message when I try to install certain apps: "Couldn't install on USB storage or SD card." What can I do to install those apps?
[A] *After receiving the error message*
1) Go to your phone's Settings > Storage
2) Unmount SD Card (your external SD card)
3) Download/install from the app(s) from the Store again
4) Go back to Settings > Storage - then Mount your SD card again (or reboot)
5) Enjoy the app(s)
Background: I thought I was encountering some compatibility issue because the Note 3 was newly released and I had just acquired mine. I had also received the error when trying to update one of my apps. It is still not clear to me why it occurred and this is the only solution that fixed it for me.
Could be SD going bad, check LOST.DIR for any files, if anything there, it is already getting corrupted.
Checked, nothing in LOST.DIR

This just showed up , and i formated my sd but it fixed nothing . After re mounting it , the problem was still there . I removed it completely and then rebooted . The problem is gone , but could the problem come from the sd ?
Not working for me can't install greenify donate pack from play store

Sounds to me like a ROM problem. I started experiencing that problem today when I install NV ROM for M8
The play store is an annoying piece of ******. I can install everything except Zooper Pro (RPC:S-3 error). Thus forcing me to use a cracked apk, simply because nothing else works!
Anyway, as for your errors. Tried deleting the data and cache on the Play Store and Google Play Services? Do you have enough space available?
sollution 2
here is some more info
it seems like it should be easy to fix fo google :/

I've tried unmounted sd card, reinstall play store, flash the older version gapps, reboot the device, clear cache

Restarting the device works for me

Same problem. I've noticed the problem isn't the sd card, because i've changed it and could not install certain apps anyway.
I guess it's a rom problem. I'm on Blekota S5 v10 now, that's causing this issue. Yesterday I've flashed my rom stock backup, and every thing was ok.
Although if you are rooted first
1.)Unmount SD Card
2.)Download Link2SD it will requires root get it on play store for free
3.)Download your favorite app that get some errors
4.)Mount SD Card
5.)Put the app from external to SD using Link2SD
6.)Profit
Works
Thanks for the answer!
Just Backup and Format

Hi There... The problem with Unmounting and Mounting the SD Card is that since I have my music saved on my SD Card I have to choose a New Ringtone and all my Alarm tones all over again each time I do that... So I backed up all my Music to my Phones Memory, Formatted the SD Card and Voila... Now I don't have to keep Unmounting and Mounting the SD Card every time I want to update an App... more so I only had to go through the hassle of choosing the music once after the format... Hope this helps

[Q] Internal SD wiped clean, any way to restore?

I recently received my new S5, I rooted the phone, and also bought a 32gb external sd card. I realized that with KitKat 4.4.2, google has prevented apps from writing to the external SD card. I looked up workarounds to this problem and came to this:
trendblog.net/fix-kitkat-sd-card-write-restriction
I applied the fix to my phone, editing the platform.xml file, rebooted, and realized that my INTERNAL SD folder has now been wiped clean and is now empty. A lot of apps stopped working, including youtube, google, samsung keyboard etc, with the message "unfortunately <insert app name> has stopped". In particular, the MyScript Resource Manager constantly stops, and gives me that message. I am unable to go online either even though am able to connect to wireless and data networks.
I have tried different ways to solve the issue, including factory reset, and flashing stock rom, but my internal SD folder remains empty.
Does anyone have any idea how to solve this issue?
I've just had the exact thing happen. We're you able to fix?

Changes in Tablet at reboot + SD card issues

Hello,
I have a rooted Galaxy Tab A (2016) with S Pen 10.1. SM-P580. Running 6.0.1.
I have a couple of issues I can't get past.
First problem :
Whenever I restart my tablet there are a few changes that always occur. They are :
- Screen timeout goes back to the default 15 seconds (although I have it changed to 2 minutes)
- Keyboard goes back to the default one (from my chosen SwiftKey to Samsung keyboard)
- In "notification access" everything goes to "off"
- In "Accessibility" and "Services" everything goes to "off". Each time I need to manually turn them back on, one by one.
It can be quite annoying to always have to change everything back at each reboot. And it's not only on reboot, it also happens if I leave the tablet on for a few days.
Does anyone know what to do, to make my preferences stay??
Second problem (more importantly) :
I can't find an application that would make the SD card the default storage (this option does not exist in the tablet itself).
As it is now, if I want to download music or movies I can't. Because with the 16GB (and almost full) internal memory it's not enough.
Anytime an application has been updated it goes automatically to the internal storage so I have to keep moving them back manually to the SD card, if not the rest won't update since not enough space.....
I have 1,3 GB left of free space on internal storage and 97GB on SD card.
So I have a fancy tablet and a big SD card but can't download anything!
I have tried a few SD applications but they just don't do the job. And some of them don't even recognise that I have a SD card.
Does anyone know of an SD card application that would do the basic work of :
- Make SD card default storage.
- Be able to move applications to and from SD card.
- Automatically move recently downloaded apps to SD card.
I would be most grateful for any help I can get!
Thank you!
Id say your issue is your data partition has somehow become corrupted. I suggest backing up what you need, factory reset and reinstall the stock firmware.
For more storage you could use adoptable storage.

New Moto G5+ to replace Moto G4+

I've been provided with a Moto G5+ to replace a Moto G4+ that was having too many ghost touch issues (when charging and also not when charging).
I'm just after a brief steer on the best way to migrate across.
I only have 1 SD card available which is currently in the G4.
Should I boot both devices without the SD card in either, then log in with google account etc and subsequently do the Moto Migrate app option? When that's complete, then put the SD card into the new phone (mainly images on the SD card, but not sure if there is any app data or not on there).
Or should I boot the G5 first with no SIM, no migration, connect to wifi and do a software update, then restart as first port of call?
Or should I do as the first option, but move the SD card straight into the new phone, boot it and follow the usual google account login, Moto Migrate options etc?
Any advice gratefully received - I only do this once so it would be good to do it properly!
To start off with this is the Moto G5 forum
The moto g5 plus forum is located
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus
Google backs up contacts calendar & other Google type services
By signing into google account on your g5+ you used to sync the g4+ with it will just restore everything
With regards to apps if it's a different android version it's best to re-download them from playstore as the app may be different depending on the Android sdk
However if you want to restore your app data & both phones are rooted you can use titanium backup to backup the apps & data to sd card & then restore them - do not backup or restore system apps
Google also saves your installed apps (not the data) so you can restore previous installed apps but if you want the data as well (eg app settings save game state that doesn't use Google play) Then you need to use above method
For things like text messages if you want to back them up there's apps on the playstore
For whatsapp it has its own backup via Google drive - check whatsapp settings
Anything else on the sd card just take it out old phone & put in new phone & set it to external mass storage to access
Note that if the sd card was set to be used as internal storage on the old phone the new phone won't be able to read it until you format it - in that case you will need to transfer the data to the old phones actual internal storage or a pc first - format the sd card & set to external mass storage then copy data back

Thanks. Realised my error with the G5+ forum after I'd posted, sorry about that. Thought the + models would be too niche to have their own sub-forums.
In the end booted the new phone with no SD card present, the google account brought nearly everything across and used the "set up new phone" facility that Google Settings / Admin prompted me for. Probably should have put the SD card in first of all as some apps that subsequently downloaded wanted to use the storage there, but other than that it was faultless and simple. Had a backup solution already for SMS etc, so that wasn't an issue, and everything else was cloud based.

sd card problem

Hi everyone,
I bought recently a sd card for my s5 g900f, a 32gb sd card produced by chinese company alfawise, it was pretty cheap so i decided to give it a try. Usually i store all my images and music files on my sd card, so i coppied all that to new sd and very soon i got a problem, it started with gallery freeze, the images could not be shown almost 3/5 times when i open gallery, same happens with music, but it does not happen all the time, i can sometimes open all images in gallery and all folders on the sd through the file manager regulary without any problems so i'm asking myself what's happening? Is the sd card broken or what? I will mention that i have done the cache wipe trough the TWRP and cleared cache and data of the gallery app, i even downloaded the third party gallery and the procces is still the same, sometimes i can open my images and music and sometimes i can not, it looks like it's frozen. What causes this?
