Hello, so I am attempting to repair a Samsung Galaxy S4 ATT i337, the phone was dropped and the screen cracked. I have tried with two different screens/touch digitizer assemblies to repair the phone. Everything on the phone works expect the touch now. The screen comes on, the home/back/etc buttons work, sound works etc. I have attempted cache clearing, full factory resets etc. Nothing has worked. Anyone have any ideas for me to how I can get this phone to work again.

Hi, Sat night without me adding or removing anything from my Touch Dual, the screen no longer responds to any touches via hands or stylus. I have hard reset the device numerous times and alsoflashed the original rom back onto the device but now it gets stuck at the align screen.
Any ideas?
Sorry to tell you this, but you'll need to have it repaired at the shop. Mine had the same symptoms and they had to replace something completely before it got back to 100% working condition.
I've had a problem with my galaxy s4 which made me pack it away and go back to my old galaxy s2, but I've decided I actually want to fix the issue.
The touch screen just started becoming randomly un-usable, sometimes it would work sometimes it wouldn't, It will work for maybe 5-30 minutes then the touch screen would randomly stop working and become completely unresponsive while the back, menu, lock and volume buttons would still work.
There is a bit of a crack and damage at the bottom right of the phone but it still worked a good 3 months after that happened so I don't think that could be much of a problem, and I've tried both a system cache wipe and factory wipe but the same problem still occurs.
I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this?

Replace the screen. It's a hardware problem not software.
Hello all,
My Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910C) is about 18 months old, has worked fine since purchased new. It is running OS 6.0.1
All of a sudden it seems to have developed a fault whereby the bottom most part of the screen is not responding well to touch. This is the bottom part of the screen only, all else seems to work fine.
I hadn't performed any updates or OS updates and it is the default OS, non rooted.
I have tried *#2663# and pressed the 'Touch key FW update' but nothing has happened. I also ran *#0*# and on 'Touch', I can verify that the touch along the bottom part of the screen doesn't register properly.
Hasn't been dropped or anything like that, just started happening.
Is a factory default likely to help fix this? I'm reluctant to do it if it isn't going to help at all and is more a hardware fault.
I took it to Samsung and they were very unhelpful and it is now out of warranty. I just wondered if there was anything I could try before I get a new phone?
Thanks in advance.
I'd try performing a hard factory reset but clear the cache in the Recovery Menu first. As that would probably help if it is indeed a software problem.
Hey people
I recently just fixed my S4 by taking the motherboard out of my old broken phone and putting it into a s4 with a dying motherboard. (have nicknamed it the Franken-phone). When I did this the Touch buttons refused to work or light up at all.
I know that the touch buttons from the second phone is working as I have tested it, but with the motherboard replaced the touch buttons don't work.
I am running the JFLTE optimized cyanogenmod 13 and TWRP. I have tried reflashing my phone and factory resetting it.
What should I try from here to get the buttons working as its a pain to use the phone sometimes without them.
Thanks

Do they work on stock ROM?
Hey everyone,
Today my Samsung A40 was due a software update, so I downloaded the update and left it to install. However, since it has installed my phone is completely unresponsive. I have tried doing a soft and hard reset, and followed every Youtube video suggestions like tapping the phone screen and rubbing the back cover (?). But still nothing.
The phone looks like it's on - there's a very very faint light, but it remains black soon after the Samsung A40 logo goes, and when I try to call it from another phone it goes straight to voicemail.
This problem already happened once after a system update and a phone repair shop was able to fix it for 20$ but of course he did not tell me what was wrong and I cannot get a hold of him now.
Unfortunately the phone is outside of its warranty period so sending it back to Samsung isn't an option.
If anyone has any further suggestions I'd appreciate it
that's what i mean for reset, it is just a restart really.
