Why do you people continue to insist that Viper Audio needs permissive? It's simply not true. I have it running on my S5 (rooted, stock ROM) perfectly. Just download it from their site and install, it's no more complicated than that!

No, I'm on NI2, which may explain it. But maybe this doesn't have to do with SELinux, since it works for me and I'm Enforced? You downloaded the latest version from the website, not the XDA thread?

As the title suggests, has anyone been able to install xposed yet to the stock rom? Ive rooted and attempted with the official links from xda forum, but just got boot loops (as expected) so had to flash back to backup.
If you have successfully installed could you throw a brief guide on how you did so,
thanks
Try wanam's unofficial xposed.. according to him it works.. just search hi thread.

Not working on mine. After first reboot device hangs on startup. Live boot says it tries to starting rpmb but then it says
E/rpmbd device fail
Or e/sveclient could not start.
Anyone? I've disabled packages but I can't get a stable boot
Xposed work very good. I have it and it is nice, call recording, flat style, wanam, gravitybox, etc

Most likely since it will trip knox, but i would imagine samsung would still replace the phone if its a hardware failure, i mean if they can't boot the phone then they can't tell knox is tripped... right?

Just a heads up. I get boot loops sometimes on restarts. I noticed when I clear dalvik cache I have some errors on startup. To fix this I boot to TWRP and shut the device down completely. On startup everything loads fine. Hope that will help anyone with problems

Ye you also need to install the Xposed App

Hello.
I have got S7 Edge G935F and, correct me if I'm wrong, but if I want to install Xposed, I need to:
- root the device: DONE (thanks to Chainfire)!
- install CWM Recovery, but is it necessary if I rooted the device with Chainfire method and I have exactly this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zF9vLU65zTs ?
- flash the recovery package with Xposed? Which one?
- install the Xposed .apk
Is that all or I need to do something else?

Hey, so I am currently on the official Marshmallow firmware and wanted to install viper4android. What I did was install SELinuxMode Changer, busybox and the V4A apk. Set SELinux Mode to permissive and installed the driver.
The App says that everything is installed, normal and ready to go. But whatever I do it does not change the sound. I did the same with another device earlier that also runs marshmallow and it worked just fine.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: What i noticed is that when i set it to force enable and restart the song it works for around 4 seconds. Then it justs tops.
Marshmallow right?
You tried this thread? It works in stock Marshmallow. Just follow the given instructions.

Well he said that he is on stock FW, that means not rooted. That link would not help.
I am using the XtremeMusic mod that includes Viper, however I am rooted too. That means unlocked bootloader and void warranty.

Stock firmware can be rooted. Also he has selinux mode changer so that also needs root.
So the above method should be fine.
I didn't say it can't. He just didn't specify that.

Yes and no. The version you refer to is from Mar of 17 while the latest one on Sammobile is Dec of 16. But if you use Odin to install the Dec 16 ROM you will be back to stock and if there is a later version available from Samsung, it should install OTA.
edit: I found the Mar 17 version here.
You don't need to remove twrp. Just use the unroot option in SuperSU settings.
in the end i used smart switch on the pc i'm stock again. thks for all your help hugz

Basically, if you still want to have working OTA updates, just use Magisk with systemless Xposed (yes, it's required) and you are good to go

No, you got me wrong.
If you want to do some modifications to the system (for example as title of this thread says), you have to:
1. either use Magisk with systemless Xposed and GravityBox, or
2. reflash factory image every time you want to install an OTA update (without wiping userdata obviously).
If you don't want to do any modifications to the system or you're uncertain about how to do it, you better leave it as it is.

This doesnt work on Oreo. You need to download the combination rom and downgrade to nougat then install stock nougat rom. Then install twrp, no verity opt encrypt, rmm state bypass mesa, ayshx boot image patch and magisk. Then boot successfully into stock rom with stock kernel, complete the setup, boot into recovery and install mutant kernel.
