I'm looking to upgrade from my Galaxy S 1, and I'm confused by all the different variants of the Galaxy S 4. I was originally just going to buy a Google Play Edition from the Play Store, but they only sell it in white, not black, and only a 16GB version. If I bought an i9505 like this, would it be the same hardware, and work just the same as the Google Play Edition if I put the GPE rom or another rom like CyanogenMod on it and would it work on all T-Mobile and AT&T bands?

Look here for all supported bands http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S4.
But I've heard all the Snapdragon GSM models have the same hardware. If that's true, why have all the different models?

Make it easy. Different hardware for different markets or regions. S4 i9500 with Snapdragon chip is the phone with Samsung tweak rom, it was released first. after that s4 with original rom was released for people choices.
So basically what my question comes down to is this. Can an i9505 be made to function just like a Google Play Edition S4 with no negative side effects?
Edit: NVM, I finally found threads related to what I wanted to know. Looks like I'm just getting a T-Mobile GS4.
Hey does anybody the best way i can get a S4 Google Edition, i live in canada and have nobody i know in the US.
Hi.
I wanted to know if the Google Play Edition GS4 works on all 4 carriers?
Also does it have LTE on verizon?
Thanks.
Hey guys,
I was wondering if any of you GPe S4 users on T-Mobile could tell if you can use HD-voice with this version. If so, is there any way to turn amr-wb codec on, as it is on the regular TW S4 via service mode?
Thanks
I forgot to ask, is the google play edition sold as one variant or are there 2 variants for each carrier?
Were you ever able to figure it out? I'm running danvdk rom 4.4.2 on my tmo galaxy s4 and the hd voice is really bothering me, i want to hear in HD!

I'm running GPe 5.0.1 on a T-Mobile S4, and HD voice is not working. It does work on the same phone and network with the factory ROM. Looking for a way to get it working with GPe. They advertise that HD voice is enabled on this ROM so I'm not sure why it's not working. Any tips are appreciated!!
Does anyone know where I can still buy a New Galaxy Note 4 Developer Edition? And if Samsung will restock these?
If not is it possible to root a Brand New Verizon Note 4? I'm looking to some how enable native tether and do call recording via Call Recorder by Skvalex, and would like to to know if this is possible?
Thanks
