First my phone's details:
Rooted
Model: Samsung-SGH-I337 (AT&T)
Android Version: 4.2.2
Build: JDQ39.I337UCUAAMDL
Here's the situation...
I'm an IT guy (low on totem) and we're in the Pilot phase for Android using MobileIron. I have a rooted AT&T 32GB S4 and I'm trying to fool MobileIron into believing my phone is compliant. I have done lots of reading on this subject, and nothing has helped, to this point. I have access to the MobileIron server, so I can register, and de-register, my device as often as I want. I plan on reporting this back to the people who get paid more than I do to let them know how secure this is.
Here's what I've tried:
1. I have installed Xposed Framework, and installed RootCloak, but it has zero effect on MobileIron. I couldn't even get to the point in MobileIron setup where I could download our 'secure apps'. (I am aware that RootCloak moved to Cydia, but I read it wasn't as good)
2. I tried using 'Hide My Root' from Play, and that also had zero effect on MobileIron; I got no further than I did with RootCloak.
3. I tried using 'Hide Rooting Lite' from Play, and I was able to download our 'secure apps', and MI required that I create a password/pattern to unlock my phone. In my opinion, this got past the first level of authentication that MI requires, which is a step in the right direction. I have recently learned that MI also scans your list of installed APPs for any APP that requires root.
Do any of you think that changing the names of some of my apps (Titanium Backup, Root Explorer, etc.) would help fool MobileIron? What about trying to DualBoot ROMS? If the secondary ROM that I setup is not rooted, and I have MI installed on it, would it be able to detect root from my primary ROM?
Any help, or ideas that I have not thought of yet, that you geniuses can provide would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi! Any luck with beating mobile iron?
MobileIron is kicking my ass. I have a Nexus 5 that's never been rooted and I can't get MI to install on this device. Is it because the bootloader is unlocked? I'm in IT as well, and our MobileIron administrators have NO IDEA what to do.

I had a similar issue in my non-rooted M8. MI started working after I did a factory reset .
So my girlfriend's phone, a Huawei Y625-U51 after she took the battery (I suspect during an update but she doesn't know) got soft bricked, all I get when I turn the phone on is a DataBackup screen and multiple processes failure notifications.
I tried to wipe/factory reset but I'm still greeted by the same screen and errors.
I tried installing an update rom from the website and some I found online but I get an error saying: "cannot install this package over newer build" so I tried to edit the date on the build.prop file but then I get a signature error.
The phone is not rooted and I would prefer not to have to (but I really don't care that much).
Also the screen glass is cracked so they gave her the bull**** "no warranty because of damage" excuse.
Could someone please help?
Edit: Found a solution, flashed the system using some production line software or something, you may close the thread.
Can you help me? I have the same issue, what software did you use?
I need more information about your solution, please.

Dear good day, I tell them what my S7 edge realize .What do first is to install an official rom from SamMobile Free German origin, then perform the process for rootearlo. When trying to update via OTA me a sign appears: The operating system of your device has been modified without authorization. Try to download software updates using your PC eb smart switch.
Today when connected to the PC with Smart switch tells me that I have an update. but not if it could have problems being Root.
You can upgrade, but you Will lose root

You can't install an OTA if you are rooted.
Try this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/guide-easy-to-update-rooted-phone-t3342896

does your phone get recognized by smart switch when you were rooted
did backup and restore options worked?
i had note 2 running note 4 rom( with buid prop indicating phone model being note 4 sm-n910c) and i had problems with backup and restore where the smartswitch would freeze my pc
now i have a proper note 4 and i was wondering should i root it or not ?
I am curious how Samsung Smart Switch reads sms Sqlite db as apk and transfer to other paired phone. Smart Switch is a regular apk downloadable from Google Play Store or Galaxy store. In phone without rooting, would the code snippets from "android: requesting root access in your app"
// Preform su to get root privledges
p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("su");
not work?
Hey guys,
Tried updating my phone today and it said my system is modified. This was a brand new device when I bought it, in download mode it still says Official and I have never attempted to root the device. I've got Adhell installed but that's as far as I go. What gives? I can't do an official update. Any suggestions?
Edit: Samsung Pay and Secure Folder still both work.
