Why wouldn't it? I would think it would be good for a least 2 updates if not more if Google has any control over the phone.

Since Google owns Motorola wireless now, I'd say there's a good chance.

Where can I find a factory image for the AT&T version? I need to be unrooted to get the update that fixes the camera. (Unless somebody knows how to unroot this process without the factory image). Thanks!

Yes the full source is out. 5.0 is on nexus 4,5 &6, moto x, I also have seen aosp 5.0 on htc one m8 and a lot others.

This thread is OLD. The Defy already has a lollipop port, so getting lollipop shouldn't be a problem.

I seriously recommend you guys fix your device tree so that it build correctly.

MIUI 7 released

miui 7 was released so i was just thinking its based on 5.1.1 and moreover there will be no ril problems for the dualsim variants
plus moreover superb performance
so i was just eager to ask any1 porting it

well when google released 5.1 they added native dualsim support as far as i remember there used to be 2 builds for our phone on 5.0 (one for dualsim and the other for single) but with 5.1 released we started to get unified builds due to native dualsim support on 5.1

MultiSim support has been added into kitkat 4.4
Google improved it in 5.0/5.1
And they just provide UI support multisim so you won't get multisim working without the msim framework
Moto still providing different build for single and multisim devices

Well, as miui has been ported to so many devices, in which there are dual sim ones also, it might be easier to port!

Actually, nobody will work with it because it needs a lot of hard work, and there's no free dev avaliable to such task. The closest this community approached from MIUI was v6, which can be accessed here. Ps: RIL doesn't work.

To build a ROM we need the sources. I couldn't find any sources for LP. On there githun there is only kk so no it will not be possible at all.

Yes there are, but only for KitKat. If you look at the manifest, on the miui 7 branch, it is named android4.4.4.

That's what I thought first. But there are 2 versions of Miui 7 : KitKat and lollipop.

Wrong thread, buddy.
Besides, every single ROM is basically skinned LineageOS with cherrypicked AOKP/Slim/etc. commits. Some ROMs, such as Invicta, do have a slightly different and/or optimized kernel, but performance and battery for all ROMs is nothing different from stock Lineage.

After testing allmost all official custom roms I went back to the stock Motorola rom, because for me it runs rock stable and I never had problems with it at all unlike some Lineage based roms.
Maybe have a look at the debloated, optimized RevivorOS based on the latest stock rom: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/development/rom-npjs25-93-14-4-deodexed-debloated-t3587180
