I want to try and overclock my Nexus 10 a bit but having trouble finding a good kernel for the job.
My kernel is over lockable to 2.1 so are trinity and ktmanta.
Sent from my nexus 10.
But are there versions available for lollipop?
im wondering the samething.

Hi there, i'm new to the Nexus S but not to the android world.
i bought the NS a few days ago and already rooted and flashed CM 7.1 stable.
now i'd like to move on and flash a kernel with deep idle, overclocking capabilities and BLN.
wich kernel can deliver all of that?
Francos kernel glados, and matrix

and trinity. any custom kernel actually, besides for stock.
opted for glados, runs pretty good. thanks a lot peeps
not to change the subject, but is it possible to overclock with the new ICS roms?
Hi all,
I'm looking for a good kernel for my nex7. I'm running latest paranoidrom with stock kernel. Basically i want to OC and keep my tab smooth(and tweak it here and there). Battery is not that important to me. Any suggestions?

try them all, they are all good. find the one that you and your device likes best since every device will react differently with every kernel. i prefer trinity kernel.
In my opinion for me personally, the kernel is the most important custom feature because everything I like jacking with is kernel related.
I like motley's kernels, trinity, and faux's kernels. I run Motley way more than any of the other ones, it's just a really nice and easy combination with really badass performance on my tablet. I try to run every experiemental kernel from trinity too just to keep myself in the loop.
To start with I recommend Motley's 1.11. and try builds 218 and 219 which are the same kernels with different max GPU speeds.
Simms is a kernel expert, he gives out a ton of good advice in the kernel threads.
Thanks for the advice. The reason why im asking this is because on my gnex I started my kerneladventures with franco, and this messed up my ramdisk causing me to reflash my phone. I just want to make sure that it doesnt happen again on my nex7. On the galaxy i run faux kernel, i didnt know it existed for the nex7?

Motley's anykernel installation method makes it real easy to avoid conflicts by not overwriting the rom's ramdisc and things like that, I would strongly advise getting your feet with with his kernel.
Also, make sure you're following the original development section, faux's kernel is in there along with the others.

thats because francisco was defaulting to fsync off and barrier=0 for some time. thats a tricky combination that could cause problems if you ever crashed. he doesnt do that anymore. fsync off is much safer when barrier=1
Any good kernel suggestions for 4.2? I tried m kernel and faux but both dont seem to fit in alk the way...

trinity kernel
Hey guys... Just rooted my Nexus 7. I did some research on kernels and found out the two most popular ones are motley kernel and trinity kernel. Can you please explain the differences among the two and which one is better? Thanks a lot..

I've tried the available kernels a few different times and I personally like Faux's kernel most of all. It's nice and smooth like the others but runs quite a bit cooler for me when gaming.

When I first joined this forum I flashed whatever was the most popular. Those are not always the best.
Why don't you flash them all and see which one works the best for you? Some kernels get you a few hundred points more on a benchmark, but no real difference in every-day usage. I am currently making my rounds of the kernels, currently trying Faux's latest ES Beta build: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31508178&postcount=421. Rolling with AOKP Official.
Hi,
I tried Faux Kernel, Trinity kernel and Mothley kernel. Wich is better hmm.
- Trinity Kernel : My device is just not as smooth as the stock kernel. Disliked.
- Mothley : Much smoother then Trinity Kernel but still hard to say if it is more then the Stock.
- Faux Kernel : It is not slower then stock. It is as smooth, maybe even more ?
Hi mates, just received a brand new tf300t and after some teasting and official updates i'll root it and i'll try a new custom rom with oc kernel.
Now i'm with a nexus 7 3g with stock 4.3 android and custom kernel allowing 1500mhz cpu (max stable for me) and 533mhz gpu so i'd like a combo with similar performances.
Have you some suggestions for me? the aim is to have a 4.2.2 custom rom without any bloatware and a good kernel stable (i hope to be more lucky than with n7) at 1660mhz...it's a dream? thanks for your help, now i'm reading every thread about the new baby...

Hi there, so I've got the Nexus 4 and running Cyanogenmod CM11 M7 and was wondering what would be the best kernel to install on my phone?
Something that'll get me bit of performance and better battery life
Thanks

it depends... always depends
You can try either of these, and then you can check, on your mobile, which is better :
ak's kernel
Hells Doctor with Tardis
Hells Core
In my point of view(and for my mobile setup), the better is Ak, but all of them are great kernels though !
Can't seem to get a download link for 4.4.2 kernel. The one on the official post isn't working. Any luck?
There is no such thing as a best kernel Just head over to the dev sections, try a few and then decide for yourself, as everyone has their own needs/likes/...
