Hi all,
Just setting up my new Note 4 and have come accross this issue.
The error occurs when I go into Settings, accounts, facebook and select Sync with your device. As such I am unable to sync my Calendar information with the S Calendar app.
When trying to perform the sync I receive "Unable to single sign on (SSO) to Facebook at this time" message.
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.
I am having exactly the same problem. Any help will be very appreciated!

Must be down or something. I'm using a galaxy s5 and it was working fine up till yesterday morning when I started to get this same error. Hmm.
Same problem here. Single sign on won;t work for facebook.
Contacs also keeps crushing the last week.
Lolipop is a real mess...
ALso in kitkat says , but with the next update on facebook this message will be gone
I don't think it's a facebook error. Twitter is also unable to SSO with the galaxy app. I am pretty sure it's a Lolipop bug.

I'm pretty sure it isn't the 5.0 lollipop update considering the update isn't available in my stress yet. When there's a new update about to hit, most phones in general start to do the same or something similar. I also have a Note 4 and my bf has a Note 3. I also work on devices frequently. At this point it will continue to be an issue. If you have the Facebook app then you're fine anyway. Just continue checking for further updates. Remember to shut down your device daily for 30 seconds to 1 minute (it's very similar to a computer).

Does twitter work? Cause I have iasues with single sign on and twitter also.
I'm also having the same problem since Thursday or Friday, Verizon note 4.. kk.. no other apps having the problem yet. . Very annoying. . .miss not being able ru sync calendar, and photos. ..

I thought it was just me.
I've only just received my Note 4 (Europe) and have the same problem. In my case it all works fine on my old Note 2 and Note 2014 Tablet but not on the Note 4. All my devices have Kit Kat as well.
I hope someone finds a solution as I want to sync my facebook calendar into the S Planner. At present I am keeping my old Note 2 alive for this purpose.

I too have this problem on my new S5. My Note 10.1 2014 is still working fine but SSO on the Galaxy S5 just wont work. I have done a factory Reset and still no success. I spoke with samsung which was a total waste of time. Cant wait for someone to find a solution to this.

I to have the note 4 and I completely unistalled Facebook app and forced stop on calender. Reinstalled Facebook app not opening and went back to calender and added new account clicked on Facebook account then signed in. Hope this helps works great now and Facebook is sync with Google calendar.
Hi -how did you uninstall facebook ? It's part of the standard ROM on my Note 4 so I cannot remove it ? Thanks.

I'm still on KitKat and having the same SSO issue with the FB app.
Update SNS
The cause is an outdated Samsung SNS provider. After updating it to the latest version in Galaxy Apps, it will work.
Did anyone find a fix for this? I'm having the same exact issue on my galaxy s4.

I updated the SNS, remove the FB account, and it worked. Calendar is now syncing agian. Thanks.

Hello All,
Am new to HTC Android Phone. I have setup my contacts photos to be picked up from the respective Facebook Profiles. Although this happened the first time, if a contact changes the photo on facebook it is not getting updated in the phone? Is there a way to manually force an update??
Facebook sync is enabled (i guess once every 12 hours) and it has been several days since the contact updated the profile pic on FB.

It seems that the facebook sync method doesn't check if the facebook profile pic is updated or not. Probably to save network bandwidth and sync time. But it is kind of annoying that it is not updated.
I have exactly the opposite problem. The pictures assigned to my contacts in google keep getting updated with those in facebook. While I don't mind that for contacts that do not have pictures in Google, it is quite annoying for such that do.
i pressed the sync all widget and all my face book images updated
my legend is rooted and running the modaco rom tho

Strange that it works for you. Can't see how a root or new rom would change anything. I have the same problem, using stock unrooted rom. Kinda hoped it would be fixed with new update, but no luck

I was also facing the problem of getting updated display pic from facebook and thought that there wasn't anyway to solve.. until after i ran into the FriendStream problem.
My FriendStream started acting strange and refuses to update friends' status today, it force closes when i try to launch the application proper. After reading up online, I did what others suggested, remove the facebook account and re-add it to FriendStream.. It got my FriendStream working again, plus a bonus - it "re-linked" with all my contacts in People and updated their profile pics! =D
Might take a while for it to fetch all the display pics again though, so I'd recommend doing it with a WiFi connection

i know this is an old thread so hoping there was a better fix for this issue? terribly annoying
Doing a refresh in the friendstream app updates the photo in the app but not the contact photo
I have found no way to update the photos till now... have even tried unlinking the Facebook profile from the contact and readding - no use...

I recently updated to the new 2.2 that was officially released through Kies for the Samsung Vibrant. Everything was working fine and after a long process I finally got my Facebook and Twitter synced to my contacts on the correct people. Now, after about a week, the sync is having trouble and sort of unsynced people on it's own. So I thought, maybe if I removed the account and re-added it. Well, not it won't even log in.
Anyone else having this problem or had this problem and found a solution? Help would be greatly appreciated.

the feature was working just fine before I decided to do a fresh installation of nexusbeam 4.2.3 rom, now I can't sync my twitter account contacts.
I tried to rollback to nexusbeam 4.0.3 to sync twitter contacts but with no luck
I would post this in the NexusBeam thread but I still don't have sufficient post to access the reply feature

actually i had the same problem with a couple of ics roms so went back to cm7.1 and had the problem. In my case it did still sync the contacts just gave the error had to check and uncheck it a couple of times though, so it may be something with twitter.
rolling back to CM7 didn't fix it either, I suspect a leftover preference file from another ROM or something like that is causing the problem.
i will try to do another fresh of stock ROM and report back if it worked.

Previously (on stock rom) whenever I clicked on the twitter link of any contact in my list I would get an error about twitter not being available.
So contact sync never worked correctly for me
my xperia play sync the contacts without any problem, I think the problem might be related to Google devices only. hope they will fix this soon

Same here. It started Friday. Must be a Twitter problem. I can't sync my contacts on my Nexus S or my Xoom since Friday.
Got the same problems.
I re-installed the stock ICS package (no custom roms, no mods, only the same kernel - Matr1x - I had before wiping) and once I tried to sync my Twitter account it said "Unable to sync etc etc"...
Tried again after a few hours and today again but it keeps saying "unable to sync, connect, rofltrolol and so on..."
Nice to see that I'm not the only one having this problem.
PS: before I re-installed ICS, I did a proper wipe (system, data, boot and so on) so I don't think there is any trace of the previous ROM (however, the previous installation was the same IML74K I set up yesterday, so dunno...)
I thought I was the only one with this problem lol. I was messing around with the sync settings and thought I broke it by accident.
Hopefully it gets fixed soon. It was working a few days ago (or at least since my last full wipe)

Ditto. I have an HTC Vivid, stock and unrooted, and this problem started happening on my phone last Friday, 1/20.
Contacts still won't sync. Having read the other posts here, I tried creating a new twitter account in order to determine if it was related to settings associated with my account. I had the same issue with the brand new account.
To be clear-- Messages (tweets) sync just fine, and my account is accessible through the Twitter app, but the contacts added previously to my list by Twitter do not sync.

these syncing issues is really getting on my nerve ... I will have eventually to sync my fist into this piece of **** service.

The issue is with the app-- Not your phone.
Just out of curiosity, I checked the comments on the app, itself, in the android market.
Anyone who is unsure if the contacts sync issue is with the app or some fouled up setting on your phone should check out those comments. You can see them for yourself here.
Multiple complaints that the latest update to the app prevents contacts from being sync'd.
The bad news is you won't get twitter updates on your contact list ("people" app on many android phones) and unless you uncheck the option in accounts, there will be a consistent "fail" warning.
The good news is, the app works fine outside of that one feature and the error is related to the app and not your phone or settings.
I'm sure there will be an update soon enough. In the meantime, just uncheck the sync option or ignore the error warning.
This is happening since I moved to ICS (first rooted stock LPY and now RR v7) and of course I am talking about Google sync.
I already tried to log off and in into the Google account without solving the problem.
Does anybody know how to sort this out??

Yes i have the same problem ever since i upgraded to ICS
My tablet syncs without any problem.
On the phone the calendar syncs, but not the contacts.
It says it will be ok a bit later......waiting since may 21st for 'later' to arrive
Killed some services, cleared several caches, but no go.
Me too have the same problem after upgrading to stock ics rooted, it even get worse and some times i canot access market,i removed my account then added it again,still no contacts sync

Hmm... not that I am aware of.
However now that you are asking I have an AD blocker.
Perhaps it is blocking the access to some Google domains?

My dad just got a note 3 from an iphone 5. This was a huge step for him and he loves the phone. The only problem is his Exchange email folders are not syncing. This is a deal breaker for him and he will go back to iphone if I cant resolve this issue.
Sending and receiving emails works great. The sub folders are the only problem. His folder structure looks something like thins
Inbox
-HR
-Personnel
--person1
--person2
-To Do
Inbox and HR are the only two folders showing up. I have removed and re-added the account too many times to count. I set the sync to 1 month and manually put emails from today in the missing folders. I have tried 3 days sync as well, no luck. I have gone though ever single setting and cant figure this issue out.
Today I downloaded touchdown and folders synced perfectly. Is there something I am missing? Are others having this issue? I haven't found any solutions on Google or Searching this forum.
One last thing, I am one of the admins for the company. No other Android or Samsung users have this issue. We have exchange 2007 and 2010.

It's a known issue. Some stock email apps don't sync all folders. You can use either Touchdown on your Note 3 or buy a Sony Xperia Z1, where the stock email is able to sync all folders. :cyclops:
Unless Samsung updates the Email App, there is no way to fix your problem.
thanks. are there any better alternatives to touchdown. The UI is horrendous. Not a fan of K9 either. But at least they work
K9 seems to have been updated since I last looked at it. Ill give that a shot too. Are all users having this issue. This particular user has an ridiculous amount of email. but I don't think that is the issue here.

REALLY? How?
Do tell me, because I have a friend with a Z1 and is cursing exactly because he cannot exactly that.
And he has a tree of around... 50 tree nodes in his mail, that he needs to MANUALY set to "push" one by one! (exactly like my Galaxy Note 1)

I need Exchange 2010 connectivity and K9 AFAIK doesn't have (only 2007).
Oh ya k9 use WebDAV to comm with exchange ..2010 no longer support this

Hi, I got Galaxy bought 3 4G model & we are using Exchange Email Cloud (Office 365). See guys, I was using Galaxy Note 2 with the same email address & account (Nothing changed on the Exchange Configuration) & the stock email with Note 2 working perfectly (Android Version 4.1.2).
As I can see the Note 3 has Android 4.3 & Stock email has an updated version (Lighter GUI). I'm trying to analyse the problem but it seems the problem is from the stock email where Samsung should have an update that can fix this big issue.
BTW, I tried also to configure another account on the same device (Note 3) & the problem still appear.
I have a suggestion guys, what about sending an email to Samsung directly describing the issue. It might help? Am I Right?

Same issue here. Very annoying. Been using touchdown for awhile and I love it. Does anyone know whether you can create subfolders of inbox (running exchange) in touchdown?
