Is this device can get carrier bootloader locked

I want to buy the phone from local carrier, but I wonder if the bootloader (Sony's vocabulary) can be locked, so I don't get the ROOT and ability to flash cm rom, custom kernel etc....

The bootloader comes locked, but a simple fastboot command will fix that. They're also supposed to all be carrier unlocked.

All Nexus devices are unlocked by default. In Canada at least.

The Verizon Gnex was a carrier exclusive. Since then, some are scared it might happen again.

CWM with locked bootloader?

Hey guys,
I just bought the nexus 4 from a guy and its working awesome. The only "problem" I have is that the guy before me was playing around with the nexus. And now I have a locked bootloader, no SU binaries/root but CWM?? Is it possible to have CWM with a locked bootloader?
Anyways, i dont want to play around with it because the original store that sold this nexus will blame me for playing around with it if something actually happens.
So can i update it to key lime pie when it comes out without any problems?? Or can i remove CWM without unlocking the bootloader(i have alot of apps)?
Thanks

You can flash a ROM and then relock the bootloader. Just unlock it and start again
Nevermind

It's better to go back to 100% stock so you know exactly what's been done
You can always use this if you're rooted. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.segv11.bootunlocker

[Q] Re-lock bootloader/ Unroot warranty

Yes, but you're better off flashing the stock factory image from Google. Follow efrant's guide in General for full instructions
Sorry for late replay but I used the nexus 4 root tool kit wugfresh and it asked if im on custom rom or stock, i was on paranoid android rom so i selected custom rom, the made an unroot, I think it automatically extracted google image and flashed then made the unroot, is that okey? , when i compared it with a fully stock never rooted nexus 4 of someone here, mine had darker colors, but after research some people said that their are many nexus 4 have warmer screen colors.

[Q] Flashing AT&T S4 to stock rom?

I want to know if I flash a stock ROM such as lollipop to my unlocked AT&T phone, would it relock to default network? I unlocked it by purchasing an unlock code from a website.
thanks
No, once you're unlocked it will stay unlocked even if you flash the stock firmware with Odin.
