[Q] Xperia X2 WWE ROM - XPERIA X2 General

Good afternoon, XDA community!
I have the opportunity to buy a really cheap, brand new, Xperia X2. I've wanted one of these for my phone collection and I'm very tempted to purchase it. My only problem is that phone is Chinese.
I did my homework to see how hard it would be to change the phone's language, and sure enough it was as easy as flashing an English ROM. But all the links I've found (through XDA, Google and other phone-related sites) all direct me to MegaUpload, Rapidshare or Hotfile. All of which are dead.
So, if someone has an English ROM for the Xperia X2, could you please upload it to a file-sharing site that's still in service?

English ROM for Artemis

Hello dear all,
Just bought a P3300 today. (I am a noob at these things) After talking to the salesperson, he ensured that I will be able to change the language to English, I bought it. I plugged in the charger and found out that the device is in French.
After downloading all upgrades possible from this site. I still can not change the ROM. Invalid Vendor ID. Some people say that I need to upgrade the bootloader.
Not sure if this can be done on the artemis, or perhaps there just isnt anyone who has done it yet. At least I cant find the information.
Tomorrow I have to go back to the store and fight about returning this unit.
My advise is, buy this device in the correct language from the beginning.
If someone knows how to change the ROM when this happens before tomorrow, I would appriciate it dearly.
Regards,
Johan
well, by flashing your device from French to English ROM (WWE) you will immediatelly invalidate your warranty. carefull now!
Just my 2cents...
I dont really care about the warranty.. All I wanted was my phone in English. I will be able to get a new phone, with the contract that I have got with my supplier. But you know how it is, you get a new toy, you want to play with it.
Why not have it exchanged with an English version?
I have same situation. How you find solution?
gee, here we go once again:
in order to be able to change the language on your device you MUST reflash with an english rom from a compatible device.
This though is only possible once your device is CID unlocked; a special security section in your device.
Only known way to do this is via http://www.imei-check.co.uk/c3unlock.php
and costs (apx. EUR 28.00 / USD 38.00).
After this unlocking you can flash the tmouk and dopod rom (all wwe) from the wiki. ( at least on all artemis and all hero)
If you do not cid unlock, you will get "wrong modelID"

good work, now we need only UNL code ....
The UNL File is unique for every IMEI and flashes only the Device that has this IMEI. The Unlocker for the Hermes was very well done, because some smart people reversed the process from imei-check.co.uk and wrote a working program, but so far i think noone is making real adavances in this matter, so if you desperately need your device CID Unlocked, only way for you is pay imei-check :/
for now.........
This is my first post so I hope the wolves will stay back. My post is for those of you who are new as I am. I bought the O2 Xda Orbit for Christmas and since it was my first PDA-, smart phone-, device, I did not realize that the language could not be changed until I got it home. After many calls to O2 both here in Germany and the UK, I tried my luck with HTC. HTC ofcourse, will not touch the phone since it is branded with the O2 logo. There are NO Orbits in Germany from O2 in the English language version. In desperation, I called Microsoft customer service and again met with a dead end although I was inpressed with the customer service person who desperately tried to help me. It was Microsoft that directed me to this site. I will try not to bore everyone with all the details, but here is what I found out.
You can not do ANYTHING with the phone until the "super lock" (aka CID lock) is "unlocked". I tried one of those cheap places that charge 7 pounds, and the numbers and methods they gave me do not work. (You get what you pay for.)
My advise to anyone who may be new to this and wants to proceed anyway, is to keep your nose to this forum. There is a website posted in this thread that recommends http://www.imei-check.co.uk/c3unlock.php. I plan on trying this site to unlock my phone and then the next step will be to wait for someone to develop a RUU for the Orbit or HTC 3300. This phone is new on the market and all the hacks and updates are just not there yet.
If the day comes that I feel brave, I plan on using the RUU named ARTE_DOPODAU_12570702_026990_WWE_SHIP also found on this site. I hooked it up to my Orbit and ran the program, but because the CID is not unlocked, I got the dreaded "INVALID MODEL ID" message.
In reading all the posts and following the threads, I know more about my phone than I ever thought was possible. The more you learn, the more you can weigh the risks versus the benefits, or what your chances are of success. This is now a hobby for me. I love reading about everyone else's "adventures" and I think there are valuable lessons to be learned in the trials of those who bravely go before us.
The only other option is for us all to pitch in and buy the phone for $599 from http://www.alibaba.com/catalog/11719610/Xda_Orbit_Brand_New_PDA.html. I think they are $399 if you buy 10. This is a great deal for those who's home country uses the Euro. This may be the source of all those "CID-unlocked" phones on Ebay! You have to ask yourself, where are these people getting these brand new phones, CID unlocked and in ENGLISH!
Should I crash my device, I am prepared to go to the HTC website and shell out the money for a device in English with TomTom and all the bells and whistles installed. It will be CID unlocked and I will have HTC behind me for customer service and be free to use my device to it's full potential. I will try to keep the newbies posted on my progress, but in the mean time, I will read the forum religiously everyday and learn as much as I can. Somebody out there has the ROM for my Orbit, and I know it's only a matter of time.....
Welcome to the forum KleineMaus. I honestly would like to congratulate you for not being one of those newcomers who don't introduce themselves and just post a question that has been asked a million times without first reading forum rules and searching, and expect an immediate answer.
Anyway, have fun here and hopefully we can all be of help.

Hi Kleine Maus,Did you manage to find any solution so far? I have bought a new HTC P3300 (I guess the same device gets called in 5 or 6 different ways) and with the Dutch OS I cannot do much with it! If anyone out there has any solution to bring this nice toy to communicate in good old English I would be very grateful indeed. Ciao, Siper

O2 Xda mini

Hi, help, help, heip !!! need service manual, schematic diagram and exploded view for my Magician (O2 xda Mini) for repair.
my email [email protected] Russia
First of all, what you are looking for are normally proprietary documentation from HTC which is quite impossible to get unless you know someone from HTC and is willing to risk loosing his job. Secondly, google for it before posting.
xda o2 mini
WHETHER IT IS POSSIBLE TO FIND PARTIALLY? IN FACT ON OTHER MODELS IS. AND ON magician IS NOT PRESENT.
There's no need to shout!
good place to start is by browsing this sites wikki:

English software for my German XDA Diamond

Hello,
I am desperately seeking a way to make my German Xda Diamond English!! I've been told by O2 Germany that they cannot do this but he hinted towards a way in which I can switch the software myself but that it wasn't exactly legit. At this point I don't care if my warranty is voided, I'm hardly using the phone to its full capabilities because I don't speak a lick of German (yet).
Help??
What's about flashing an English ROM?
I'm really not technical AT ALL! Can you explain (in detail) how I would do that? I don't even know what a ROM is.....
Please read in Diamond Section in Forum. There you can find all you need (Software, Tutorials, Roms,...) Here is the wrong place for such questions

NEED HTC DIAMOND, HTC PRO (1 or 2) IN RUSSIAN (WILL PAY $$$ THROUGH PAYPAL)

please help me here. I see videos online that you can turn a HTC phone completely into Russian. If anyone can help me convert it, i will pay you through paypal like $20? It can be for HTC DIAMOND, HTC PRO or HTC PRO 2
Thanks.
I need the phone to me ALL IN RUSSIAN.
WILL PAY $$$
I can help translate.. I have a touch pro 2 from tmobile US. there are Russian MUI files in the dev/hack section for the different OS versions. there may be some OEM MUI's as well. There is also a russian/english keyboard on the 3ppc.net forum that can be cooked in made by Olimo.
there may have been some roms already made on two forums. check on 3PPC.net and 4PDA.ru. that is where I used to find my keyboard solutions when I used to cook for the Wizards.
If you find a cook that is willing to do the job for you I'll help, but I don't have a device to test on, as I don't want to void my waranty just yet.
have your cook PM me.

Hard-SPL for X2: Developer talk

Hi All,
It seems now that those guys who have developed HardSPL for the X1 are not going to get the X2. This leaves then no other options than to start creating the Hard-SPL ourselves.
Is there any open guides/sourceode etc available on any previous HardSPL:s? It can't be so difficult to hack this phone and change the essential parameters for getting in into the underlying filesystem...
If you know any links or direct discussions on how for example the X1-guys created their Hard-SPL, then please post that link here.
Thanks!

best way would be to create a bounty like the x10 root. that would attract developers.

Yeah! Sounds good to me. Although developers do it for the challenge, sometimes getting them motivated by a bounty encourages them more! Just check x10, it has now been rooted and I hope one day our X2 will also be Hard SPL'ed. Got an x10 and an x2 so i guess i'm gonna play with x10 for now.

hi this is a new

I am not sure if i sound a bit stupid, but since we know how to strip down X2 to bare Win 6.5.3, can somebody please "cook" (i mean perhaps assemble) usable CABs that would work on X2 and make the phone usable stable without the unnecessary SE craps? i guess that is a good general direction we would start before a genuine real SPL is available...?
itd be great if they could do it make an X2...

Sorry to bother you, but my spanish is nothing to talk about.. What's this thread about? Any specific message i should try to get translated?
Hi hertell.
I'm spanish and I'll translate you the post at HTCSPAIN.
The HARDSPL at the post it's for HTC models, not for SE Xperia, and it's so old, 2009.
If someone is working to make available HRDSPL in SE Xperia X2, I think that is a titanic work.
Thanks for your resume!
Again, if someone knows any docs or whatever technical info needed to get into winmo-devices, then please post such links here.
If i just find the needed docs that's needed for such tasks, then i'll try to create a hack for getting into the X2..
hi
In this web are new hardl slp for HTC JADE and windows mobile 6.5 i dont now if this program run in x2.
I'm sad ...
I wait wait wait... should I keep still the hope for the release hardspl?
Sorry for this off-topic
there is a post here in XDA abt how to do it on X1
Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1XPERIA X1 Android DevelopmentHOWTO run ANDROID on X1

Lightbulb I can access the inner file system of my X2.
Guys and gals...
I've got a bricked X2, so things can't get any worse at present.
I took the advice which was displayed in another thread, and downloaded the Qualcomm QPST package.
x-drivers.com/catalog/flash/mobile_phones/companies/qualcomm/models/qpst/12051.html
I deleted the default comm ports in the QPST configuration tool, added both USB ports that were available, did the Volume Down + Power On keypress, connected the cable, and voila! The phone was recognised, and it was possible to browse through the phone using EFS Explorer. Using QPST Service Programming, I can view and edit a whole LOAD of stuff inside the phone. Wow.
I haven't dared change a single thing yet. I'm hoping someone can now contribute and we can begin to understand how to use this package to our advantage.
