I and many others like me want MAP support to enable features for in car reading of text messages.
My Windows phone works perfectly Google state that both 4.4.4 and 5.01 support MAP but as far as I can tell OEM's such as Samsung don't use it HELP!

i am looking to add gps to my O2 xda exec. What GPS programs are compatible and what ones do people prefer?
Are there any that will let me play music off the phone but lower the volume of the music when it is giving me a comand?
Cheers
I reckon you are not talking about a GPS bluetooth device but about navigation software?
TomTom or Navigon are recommendable.
I-go 2006 too.
The only nav system with east europe maps

sry, but not true
tomtom and route66 have same as i-go.
Route66 includes aditionally Baltic, and tomtom even Belorus and Russia.
tested working perfectly on wizard and universal
No so if you have the latest t-mobile rom, tomtom won't run on it - even 5.21.
works reasonably well on the iMate ROM. Just struggling a bit with the VGA resolution
Navigon Mobile|Navigator is well designed and works flawlessly with VGA resolution on my O2 XDA Exec. I have the latest ROM.
It's kinda big while in memory, but not slow. Usually works very well and doesn't suffer from memory shortage. Like the interface, too! And the fact it turns on bluetooth on start and returns its state to previous one when it ends. And TMC support and endless little things that denote a well made piece of software.
The latest version is 5.2.6.

I have installed and ran this and here is my review:
Pros:
Very nice layount and easy to use.
instalation is extremelly easy since it automatically detects your paired gps device.
Trafic updates are free of charge (except for your gprs connection)
Can navigate directly to the contacts on my outlook list from within the software (very usefull and not found on t0mt0m).
Cons:
No FULL post code search (only 4 digit)... this is a big let down
Search engine for looking up and adresses to navigate to works well but this is still dependant on peoples judgement on input ability which could lead to a tedious and lengthy lookup.
No screen rotation option from witin the software for panoramic view...another let down.
Other lack of options are: unable to set soft keyboard layout (i like QWERTY)
I tested this on my xda exec (jasjar, mda pro, spv m5000, etc) and also the big let down there was that the hardware buttons did not work such as keyboard input and zoom and volume options!
.................................................. .....................................
Although as it stands this would not drag me away from tomtom by a long shot its still much better than other competing navigation software out there.
I dont think current t0mt0m users will swap it for this since it is not as far advanced and compete as far as the pda system goes althoug this could whell be a good contender on the mobile (symbian alike )side of it since not so many otions are required.

Has anyone tried or used this navigation, it seems to be at least adequate to TomTom. Any opinions?
I have copilot 7 running on my X1. I dont find the resolution to be working well. In portrait it displays in wqvga which means the text is great but not enough map information. In landscape it displays in vga which is great for the map information but text is too small to read safely while driving and the rest of the screen is a strip for next turn directions etc. I have also started using the new released route66 mobile 8. Maps are Q3 2008 and display much more configurable. For example you can have loads of onscreen information or you can turn off text information and have just voice directions with full 3 inch wvga for the maps. Just my observations but hope that helps.
The problem w/ copilot is they are using their own map data, not the big 2 like TeleAltas or Navtech. I tried copilot 5 long time ago and found it's map data is very outdated and problematic. For US, I would rate the GPS software as follow:
IGO 8.3.2.xx (TTS + very smooth 3D operation) > Garmin MobileXT 5.0.20w (Google search builtin + Realtime traffic/flight status are killer features) > IGuidance 4 (simple, fast w/ TTS) > Tomtom 7 (very smooth and easy to use, but without TTS and distinguish feature = not shine in any single aspect).
Thanks guys for the advice. We will now go with Route66, there are only a few alternatives, becuase we need US and WesternEurope Maps. After installing and some use we will report back.
Hi guys,
Can anyone recommend a GPS package that makes use of all the new features i.e. built in GPS and importantly the built in Digital Compass. I'm looking for software that I can use when out walking and would like to be able to download OS Maps (UK) but have the device rotate the map when the device rotates i.e. use the digital compass. This has always been a problem when using these devices in the past i.e. you have to be moving for the software to know which direction you're moving in.
Any help would be greatfully recieved.
Hi guys. I want to buy a Focus.
I just want to confirm if there is Internet Sharing enabled in WP7???, I work with that on a daily basis, I live in Costa Rica so internet sharing with a PC is free. Please someone that had tested this.
The other question is regarding some Garmin Mobile XT maps that I use a lot. Is there any kind of support for them in WP7, Focus to be specific?
Thanks!
No internet sharing on WP7 that I'm aware of. Focus does allow tethering via a diagnostic menu, but I think it's only been tested with AT&T. Not sure about your region.
No other navigation app other than AT&T is available on the phone. Bing maps will allow for directions but it's not a full fledged navigation app yet. Give it time, and these apps will be appearing though.
Hi guys, with new firmware for Garmin Fenix GPS watch, i can connect my LG G2 to Fenix witch no problems over bluetooth 4 LE. Please some more experienced dev, tell me some hints if its possible to write some app for use smartwatch functions like notifications etc. At now Fenix works like smartwatch, shows notifications etc. but only witch iphone. I want to write some app but dont want to loose time if its not possible and somebody can tell me it.
Edit: Simply ma question is. Is it such easy like i can use android bluetooth api, few lines of code, or is there some bigger magic?
