I bought a new MK809 iii device. TV can not get the image. I use the adapter from the box. Do you think the adapter is inadequate or faulty equipment? What should I do?
Hook it up to the PC first to see if the device is active properly

See PC device. However; TV can not get the image.
Then check different adapter or on different tv

Hey everyone!
My Nexus 7 will be here Wednesday (YAY!)
And I just read that the USB port isn't MHL
Without buying the Nexus Q (All I have in the country is my 4g tether) how can I use an external monitor on my new tablet?
I noticed that there are 4 pogo pins on the nexus 7 vs the 3 on the galaxy nexus. Is there video out on these? Also my M18x has something called WI-HD that allows me to wirelessly transmit my monitor signal to a reciever connected to my tv. Is there any way my new tab can do something similar? I suppose I can just use my galaxy nexus for my Play TV shows but I was kind of looking forward to playing games on the big screen.
Thanks!
Bump. any suggestions guys?
There is no cable solution... chances are there will be a software WiFi Direct solution, but not yet.
Thanks for the info.

I tried using the Samsung mhl cable that I used worth my gnexus but it would not work. When I plugged in the gnex it worked, but not nexus 4. I then tried my wife's nexus 4 and same thing. Do you think I need a diffident cable. Can anyone confirm if they got it to work

It uses a new standard called slim port. Its like having a display port. There is only one cable out that I have found on amazon but its $30. Sucks they changed that standard but it is what lg is doing. Do seem to have a few advantages over mhl.

Eww, I was hoping it is backward compatible with MHL
Now connection to my Pioneer AppRadio will have to be reworked.
Not really much of an availability of these slim port HDMI adapters either... that one from Amazon doesn't seem to ship outside US :banghead:

Hi guys,
I recently bought a google nexus 4 running android 4.2.1 stock.
I have been trying to connect it to my tv using a HML adapter however when i connect it all up and set the tv to the appropriate setting (HDMI 1)
the screen just remains blank and there is no sound.
I have been unable to find a tv out option anywhere in settings, and i am wondering if it should just work when connected automatically or is there a setting somewhere i have been unable to find?
Thanks for the help!
The nexus 4 does not have a MHL chip in it. You will have to get a miracast wireless display adapter or slimport cable

I was wondering if the TV has to be full hd or just hdready?
Hi, i'm using CM 10.1 and i'm trying to connect my phone to my TV using USB in order to see my media on it.
Is it possible nexus 4 with CM? or is it my TV?
i checked the android debugging in the developer options. Did i miss something else?
Slimport.

And besides slimport?
There is Miracast Wireless Display but you have to buy the box itself for the TV which is around £50 and £100 so I would stick with Slimport which costs around £28 in total.

I think your missing his point here.
He means his tv has a USB port which you can say plug a hard drive in & watch content stored on it.
My old tv had this functionality however it's not possible to do this with the nexus 4 as the storage is not mounted as a USB storage device.
Meaning the only way you can do what you ask is via a slimport adapter to use your phone as an HDMI input on your tv

may be wrong but I remember reading somewhere that some newer Samsung TVs support MTP.
I have android 4.2 with the USB OTG kernel r165. Usb storage drives, mouse/keyboard and gamepads work however im trying to get a RD9700 ethernet adapter to work with no success
From what ive read the RD9700 is supported on android (albeit at usb1.1 speeds) and it should be as simple as turning wifi off, plugging it in and under settings a new 'ethernet' tab will show up. It doesnt, nor does doing a 'netcfg' in terminal emulator show any 'eth0' adapters.
Has anyone else tried an ethernet adapter? Is there some reason why it wont work on the Nexus4?

Hi, I'm wondering about this too. I got it to work on my Note 2 by compiling the kernel modules and the using 'insmod' to load them each time I needed to. I am thinking of changing to a Nexus 5 when they arrive, but USB ethernet is a must for me. Works out of the box on my N7, but sounds like it needs some work for the smaller nexus.
