I am sure that there should already be a thread dedicated to this but I can't seem to find it.....
If I have a Note 3 that is not in a region (South Africa) that is currently getting Lollipop ota updates (And don't expect my provider to do so quickly, adding bloatware takes a long time). Is it possible to flash those firmware to my handset to one of the versions available for the European providers.
If so what do I need to do? What guide can I follow?
And what version it the least bloated with non Samsung wares (Happy with Samsung bloatware for now)
If yours is an N9005, the International version then you can flash any European ROM on it. However it also depends on the size of your phone, I mean if you have a 32 GB phone then you won't be able to flash the German Lollipop ROM, because I think it's meant for 16 GB devices (I could be wrong though). As I have a 32 GB model I had to flash the Polish Lollipop ROM.
All these matters if you have an N9005.

Yes I have 32 GB LTE N9005 Not sure if it is international version? As I mentioned it has a lot of South Africa vodafone bloatware installed
Base version : N9005XXUENC2
What guide should I follow to "upgrade" ?
Yes, that is the international version mate, I have the same version.
This is what I have done to upgrade to L, follow the same if you want.
If you already don't have a custom recovery installed, then flash TWRP (version 2.8.5) via Odin.
Then in TWRP go to Wipe option and Wipe everything, I mean under Advanced Wipe wipe everything, Dalvik, Cache, Data etc. (except the external SD), done, now turn off the phone (do not reboot the phone from TWRP and use the Do Not Install option to not root the phone). Now press Vol Down and Power to go to Download mode and connect the phone to PC and Odin will show it as well. Then it's simple, just add the Lollipop ROM under Odin's AP tab and flash it and wait for 5 minutes, done. Later you root the phone again and uninstall all the craps you want.
As you have the 32 GB version flash the Polish Lollipop ROM, cause that's meant for 32 GB devices.
PS: Needless to say the above procedure will wipe all the data, so if you have some important data then take a backup with Titanium first.
Hello guys i have a samsung LTE note 3 , singapore version.
I am using the phone in India.
there are many note 3 that have got the lollipop version.
baseband N9005DXUGNK1
version 4.4.2
1. can i flash the UK (vodafone) lollipop version on my phone via ODIN ?
2. will it trip my knox after flashing?
3. Will i have to unlock my phone after flashing to use Indian sim? (because when i got the phone i did not have to unlock it)
You could also try the Dutch VDF (Vodafone) ROM. It's for 32GB.
The German Vodafone version isn't for 16GB, there is no 16GB Note 3 outside Asia. But the German firmware had flash issues that required the pitfile to solve with 4.4 as well.

I flashed the Polish version earlier today
Easy as pie.
No need to be rooted or have custom recovery (Done from stock 4.4.2 South Africa Vodafone)
Did not trip Knox, and does not wipe phone or apps (just adds a couple of new ones)
The Polish, UK part seems to be only the network/localization for that area, Polish ROM added some polish apps, and I'm assuming UK version will add some UK vodafone bloatware, that will be of no use in areas outside the intended region.
TO flash :
Boot into download mode (vol down + home + power)
Start odin as administrator
Connect phone and press vol up to connect (odin will show its connected)
Click AP/PDA and select the file you want to flash (tar.md5 file)
Start...
Wait a couple of minutes and you'll have lollipop with everything working as it was before flash (no need to re-install anything)
If you really want to you can do a factory reset and wipe the caches. But I didn't feel the need to do so (Although I did backup just in case something did go wrong)

I have a Vodacom SM-N9005 32 GB Note 3 I have uploaded to Lollipop using the files that were posted in this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/general/guide-t2983873. There are five files included in the download. I upgraded from Kitkat.
You might not be able to downgrade to kitkat if you are unhappy with Lollipop using these files. Furthermore if you decide to upgrade don't forget to ensure that "USB DEBUGGING" is activated on your phone.
I have had no issues with the upgrade...Good Luck!!!

I have noticed there is an updated firmware for almost all the notes except the Plus version of the polish model.
Can I easily update to the non-braded polish firmware without rooting the phone and losing all my data? I want to get on-track to receive update from samsung not plus (using OTA or Kies).
Will I be less likely to receive updates as I have the Plus version? I feel like my gNote has been left out of all the fun.
Thanks
You have to root your SGN first, and than flash KK9 (PL language included) firmware for instance. No need to wipe user/system data.
Did the above myself, my Note is also from PL Plus carrier.

Out of all the options what did you use to root the phone?
Also did you then just use Odin to flash the new firmware?
CWN used ?
I followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
Starting from the line:
-----------------------------------------Forget all Above and follow simple Step below------------------------------
2. I Want ROOT + CWM
Using PC:
Download corresponding to your stock CF modded kernel, follow the instructions. After that you'll end up with a rooted SGN, and yes the kernel includes CWM.
Using mobile odin pro from the market:
(can also be done directly from the CWM recovery, but not sure whether you gonna get the flashing counter +1)
Flash KK9 or whatever kernel you prefer.
Hope that helps, cheers.
My phone currently runs 4.3 but I'm thinking about upgrading to 4.4.2. My phone's localization is SEB. However SEB version of the rom is not released yet. As a result, I'm thinking of upgrading my ROM using BTU or some other version. This raised some questions for me:
1. If I flash 4.4.2 from BTU (or some other version of it) could I use LTE not only in UK but in the baltic states. In other words, if the ROM belongs to other country could I still use LTE at home? Or will LTE work only in the country the ROM is built for?
2. If I flash 4.4.2 using Odin (from BTU), would I still get OTA updates? I've heard that both region and software region must match to get OTA. Is this true?
3. Should I recalibrate my battery after flashing 4.4.2? I've heard that after flashing every new ROM battery should be recalibrated in order to reach the best performance.
4. Which of the ROMs (BTU, XEF etc) has the least amount of bloat?
Thanks in advance.

You can flash any country ROM supporting LTE.
You can use LTE anywhere if your ROM supports LTE.
It's wrong that both region must match, COMPLETELY WRONG.
You can find an Ultimate-List of firmwares in sammobile.com in firmwares section.
My N4 910F, bought from Swedish 3.. Is it possible to download a new firmware and via Odin reflash a stock clean rom? Example from Poland, Uk or any other similar nearby country? My S5 was from the open market and when lollipop came ill used a firmware from Poland, long before it came to sweden.. And that work fina, but, that phone was not from 3.
Sammobile have a 3 based firmware, ill think. (sweden 3 - 4.4.4) but also Nordic NEE 4.4.4
Yes you can' if you want DBT/BTU/ is perfect fastest, cleaner, bug free
Thanks ?
Maybe its possible to use lollipop 5.0.1 or must i use a 4.4.4 firmware first?
Anyway, Thanks! ?
It's up to you if you want you can install lollipop and if you want you can downgrade to kitkat as well
I answer my self to maybe help any else..
I'll flashed back and away my rooted 4.4.4 orginal firmware.. After i replaced it with LP 5.0.1 German firmware.. After first start i flash cf autoroot, then philz.. To be 100% sure i boot in to recovery and did a factory reset.. My N4 works perfectly! But.. 3 apps from Swedish 3 is still there? I can delete them but i find it strange?! My bootup logo from 3 is gone..
Before installing and after installation do full factory reset from recovery
Hey all
I am unfortunate to have the UK N910F phone (PDAN910FXXU1ANK6 and CSCN910FH3G1ANK1) as this has not received the lollipop update. I have not rooted the phone and don't really want to root as some apps will not work with root I. E. Banking apps.
My question is there a international Rom that I could flash with Odin as I tried a lollipop rom with the wrong PDA and CSC (PDA N910FXXU1BOC3 CSC N910FVFG1BOC2) and that just bricked the phone, luckily samfirmawre had my original 4.4.4 Rom so my phone is OK
Many Thanks
Alexndr's BOC3 ROM will allow you to keep your current CSC:

Yet another person not to bothered about reading forum rules.
Answering your question. There is German soft for n910f on sammobile. I flashed it via odin and it works just fine.
Be careful
About your question, be careful with that, if you have your phone from a carrier (including if you unlocked it), be careful because, for example, here in Spain if you have your phone with Vodafone and you change the ROM to a non-VF, you may notice that your payment by NFC won't work. BTW I works with some banks in europe and I had no problem with whatever o their apps changing the ROM to a official from another country (nor to a custom rom, but that's your choice), now I have your same model, bought unlocked to samsung with the indian ROM from sammobile
I tried to update the phone OTA but it says that its already updated to its latest version and i tried it on kies and it says that my device is not supported to update via kies. Im running my phone with android 4.2.2 jelly bean. I want to upgrade to kitkat because my phone drains battery faster based on my observations with my cousins phone, we also tried to change batteries just to make sure.
Is there a way to update this phone? I am willing to root this phone if thats what it takes.
Thanks
Please post the following information:
1. Model Number
2. Android Version, found by going to Settings > More > About device.
3. Firmware Version (AP, CP, CSC), found by dialing *#1234# in the dialer or by installing Phone Info from the Play Store and running it.
4. Service Provider
5. Country
6. Is the phone rooted? (Yes/No)
7. Is a custom ROM installed? (Yes/No, and the name of the ROM)
1. GT-i9505
2. Version 4.2.2
3.Firmware Version
AP: I9505XXUDMH8
CP:I9505XXUDMH8
CSC:I9505XXDMHA
4.Globe
5.Philippines
6.No
7.No
From appearances the ROM that was installed was for a carrier unlocked unit. If the S4 is still tied to Globe that would explain why Kies didn't work. The correct version for you, based on the information given, is here. Flash it using Odin.
After that i can update the phone? Can i use Odin v.3.10.6? Thanks sir
By the way can i use different version like the international version?
1, That's the current ROM. If Samsung pushes an OTA update you should get it without any trouble.
2, Odin 3.10.6 is fine.
3. If your phone is carrier unlocked you can install any ROM you wish. However, you wouldn't get any OTA updates and Kies would report that the ROM and the device don't match. If your phone is not unlocked, it's not recommended to flash other ROMs and to stick with the ROM for your device.
How can i determine if its carrier unlocked? My phone can use other service providers here in the philippines, does that mean that it is carrier unlocked? Thanks sir
If you insert a SIM from another provider and can get service on the S4 then the phone is carrier unlocked.
If downloaded the version that you shared can i still use different sim card? If not can you send the link of the version that can be used by different carrier just to make sure? Thanks sir
Yes. Once you're unlocked, the ROM you install doesn't matter too much. Any SIM card should work in the S4.
1. Which version saves battery better the version 4.4.2 or 5.01? Because im just after the battery performance sir.
2. Can my firmware version be the reason why my phone sometimes cant detect my sim card and will be needing to restart my phone. Sometimes even i restart my phone my phone cant still detect my sim card so i need to restart it again. Is it a hardware or a software issue?
3.If im not satisfied with the battery performance of lolipop can i just repeat the steps you gave but instead use the 4.4.2 version provided by globe at the same site you gave?
Thanks sir
