Safe temperatures? - Blu Vivo Air

Hey how u guys doing with the vivo air? This device its a toaster I got it as far as 72°C yesterday playing world of tanks! Does any one knows the max temps resistance of the CPU!?
Sent from my VIVO AIR using XDA Free mobile app

My device is usually about 100°F. I wouldn't push above 120°F. Try to keep it below that, that's when you start to see some impact on performance and battery loss, I believe around that temp.

Well that seems a bit imposible since the phone regular temps without use goes around 100°F to 120°f and with heavy use like gaming goes to 150°F

Usually that's what removable batteries state. Safe temps depend on manufacturer specs.
Sent from my VIVO AIR

Going off what I said previously, battery temp usually needs to be less than 100°F because it can harm internals. Can being the keyword, although it doesn't happen a lot, check through this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1595122
Sent from my VIVO AIR

Also my temp is usually around 77-80 °F when not running many apps. As right now I am running Clean Master, chrome, and XDA.
Here's a screen of the temp. I'll try to see if I can find out the battery used.

Galaxy S II very hot

Hi.Is it just my S2 get hot when I play games or use GPS? Especially at the top around the camera.

Normal.
Yep, very normal. However I did find that using GPS really heated things up... next hottest is games

same here
I had similar issue this morning. Listened to music then watched a video (20 minutes) on morning commute and device got very warm, felt it in my pocket. it soon cooled down but still a bit conerning....

probably using that particular GPS software, not just GPS antenna by itself?
does it heat up if you just display GMaps with your location, without doing anything heavy in GMaps? Because I did not notice that much heat coming from using light GPS apps. Gaming - yes, some of those games are killers.
I am using Navigon software. I played Angry Birth and the same, phone was hot after 5min. I know is normal that phone is warm, but this is not warm, but hot.Galaxy S was cold compare to S II.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Of course it's NOT normal. Might be normal for SGS2 but not for others. as I've said on another thread, Navigating with GPS driving it got to 60C, you could slowly cook an egg at 60C.
Mine doesn't get especially warm, It gets well 4-5 degrees warmer when I browse the web or watch HD movies
It's think it's high screen brightness in combination with SW (high CPU load)!
Mine is never warm if brightness is kept below 50%
My screen brightnes is 0%. It is hot at the top where is CPU I gues.

How many degrees celsius is taken as very hot on the Galaxy S II?.
I was overclocking my Galaxy S II earlier and my temprature was up to 46 degrees celsius when i was running a stress test on the phone.
So i just stopped my stress test of the phone then.
How did you measure temperature?I have just battery temp. it is 42.

You can download the same stress test program as i'm using from Android Market. It's called StabilityTest v1.5.
it will test your CPU's on your Galaxy S II if you are overclocking it. But you can check the temprature even if you aren't overclocking.
the temp rise is sort of random, i can play games for hours (and its 26C here) with brightness on auto and so on, it doesnt get hot
then suddenly, it does, sometimes even when im not doing much
didnt get the time to pin point w/e thing creates that behavior
(and when i say hot ofc im talking of very very hot - which is what everyone talks about imo)
killall or restart and its good to go til it happens again

I'm running that app now. I wanted to get an idea of temperatures at stock before undervolting/clocking so I could see how much difference it made. But the phone is seriously hot to the touch, enough to be worrying about. The app's reporting 50C after 37min but it feels hotter than that to me.
Some components are designed to run hot. For example I have an ATI 4850 that happily runs 70+C at idle is rated for up to 120C. But I'm worried even if the exynos can handle these temps what about the other components? The top of the screen feels even hotter back. Could this cause damage to the display for example?
This is my first smart phone but having that much heat in such a tightly packed device seems like a recipe for failure.
You will find temps of 50 deg centigrade and more when using all resources of SGS II (e.g. nav with wikitude drive = camera on) and phone attached to car screen on a sunny hot day.
This is normal!
Touch a nav-device in action and You will find it glowing ......
But contrary to HTC HD 2 SGS II does not freeze or crash at that point.
Leave a device switched off in direct sunlight in a car and it will get hot too, but still it will work .....

my phone was getting extremely hot when benchmarking etc, this was default clock and voltages.
the phone reported it was reaching 50 degrees. thought this was "normal". this was on the firmware the phone was running outta the box.
flashed latest firmware and have since messed about with overclocking, @ 1650 my phone never got as hot as it did stock.
so if you have not done it, flash the latest FW...
So your cpu is not 1200 but 1650mHz now?

Been running tons of different ROMs on tons of different Android devices, and every once in a while there is a particular combo that gets tremendously hot.
Once had my N1 get so hot while using Co-Pilot Live and Spotify while plugged into a car charger, that it turned off and wouldn't come on again for some 5-10 minutes.. Definitely worrying.. Switched ROMs and never saw the problem again.

It's amazing how electronics get warm when they have billions of dancing electrons flowing through them! Who would have known that electric current would create heat!

How do you even state heat up without mentioning the temp?
Have a basic idea, based on an ambient of 30°C,
Charging- 50-55°C,
Charging+ Gaming- 55-60/62°C,
Normal Use for more than an hour with WiFi On- 40-45°C,
Moderate Use for half an hour- 35-40°C,
Standby for half an hour- Below 35°C.
That's just an overall idea I tried to input.

This. Give us some temps of normal and when gaming to see if it is abnormal (there are apps on the market that allow you to do this). Chances are, it isn't. The phone has to use more power to run games and processor intensive applications. It getting warmer is normal.
when i fap i mean use my hand in a productive manner, it heats up (inside joke from irc chat last night)

[Q] Nexus 4 hits 122 degrees!??

Hello,
is it normal that my Nexus 4 hits 50° Celsius (thats 122° Fahrenheit)?
I was just playing that 10 fast fingers app and it seemed like a light app so I was pretty surprised how hot it got and downloaded a temperature widget...
Any opinions? Did your device get so hot? Should I ask for a replacement?
Sounds fine to me? The glass doesn't block heat transference, so people really notice it a lot on this device. When you get above 65°C is when I'd start to worry.

would have surely gotten some blisters if I kept my hands on it guess its normal but a bit of a crazy standard as the phone was only running a very simple app (nothing 3d or anything only checking typing speed)
maybe anyone else has something to say about this? i'd like a second opinion if possible
Was the temp on the CPU or the battery?

The CPU creates the heat and much of it is transferred to the battery. One theory is that these phones throttle so quickly to prolong the life of the battery. I think they shut off at 70°
Are you on stock kernel? Try franco, he addressed this issue in his code. If you search his thread you will find useful info.
50 is fine. Desktop and laptops can often run up to 90 degrees Celsius. Also, you can't get blister from something that's 50 degrees.

I have try both Franco and matrix kernels and they don't stop hot. Phone battery still 40+- degrees by Celsius. Up parts of phone hot and is not nice feeling keep it at hand. May be is some ideas how make phone more colder. Hu use cm or other roms? How it hot?

Experience with heating of the S4

Hello XDA,
I decided to open this topic as I've been fumbling around with my device alot lately. Lately I've started to notice a dramatic increase of temperature while using my device running simple tasks like chrome, whatsapp etc. This only sometimes gets the device till 45-50 degrees Celsius, this is the CPU's temperature. While gaming, it reaches a whopping 60C ! Flashed to stock, updated to new base, reboot after reboot did not solve this issue. While charging sometimes it gets really really hot!
Now I'm wondering about your experiences, how hot does your CPU get doing what tasks? I'm wondering because im contemplating whether or not bring my device in to a service center as I've never had a device CPU above 45 degrees celsius.

Does your phone start to lag when it gets hot? If not, then in my opinion you are still safe.
Same here, but I only realized it was heating last month. Maybe it has something to do with a background process? Sometimes I can even feel the heat when my phone is in my pocket

My S4 heats up on charge with any battery.
I found mine goes really hot on charge than heat goes down on trickle charge.

Is yours getting hot fast?

Mine was getting warm from the start. Thought it was lack of SIM, put that in and made some adjustments and its getting pretty darn hot... Am I alone on this?
When I first got it and put it on the fast charger and was playing with it. I noticed same thing it felt really warm even after i had it off the charger, but today I have not experienced the same. I have been using it pretty regularly but have not had it on the charger or played any games (at work) so I will report back once I do

Good to know I'm not alone. Good thing I got this at BB. If it's just a small percentage maybe I can just swap it out. It feels about 100 degrees + right now. So I'm using my tablet. I don't want to unlock bootloader until I know for sure.

Wanted to let everyone know it does cool down a lot after charging to 100%. You will receive it at about 35% and it gets hot fast. Idk why, even with SIM... It adjusts though and can't wait for a recovery to root!

And what is Sars ha-ha, in 5 years never heard of that, other than the disease!

@Fantach read up on SARS levels on phones. It also makes the area of the body warm.
I plugged mine in with the Turbo charger when I got it (was at 43%) and did all the downloading and updating apps. It felt pretty hot, so I checked it with Gsam battery and it was 118 degrees. That's hotter than my M9 gets doing the same thing, but the M9 stays hot longer.
After it reached 100% (which was pretty fast), it cooled down pretty quick... It also didn't take too long to get back down to 70% (maybe 3 hours). Standby time is pretty good, but SOT seems to drain the battery pretty quick. But this is a new phone (basically a new ROM flash) and will settle in a few days and I expect to see better battery stats.

Heat is 100% fine. And Motorola Nexus 6 was a lot lower than iPhone.... Like myself and 2 other guys said. It's like the phone adjusts. It gets very hot AT FIRST, then it drastically cools down. Did an Antutu and it didn't even heat up. I swear, heat isn't an issue.

Thank you for your clarification, i feel much better now :victory:
Mine got hot today as well. It was downloading my apps. A little more past 100 apps from the Play Store. It's not a constant issue since I have been using the MXP
I've had this phone for 3 days and it has not calmed down. Still gets hot and this screen destroys battery time. It has nice standby but when the screen is a battery hog. The temps get high with any real usage. My Nexus 6 has been much better with temps and battery. Wondering if it's a bad faulty batch or if this is the processor/screen.
It's a shame because this phone is a dream besides all that. But I am suspect to keeping this with the overheat and battery drain.
