Ok so im using an app locker that locks access to apps and asks for pin code. But there's an easy way to bypass it because anyone can just delete the applock app or force close it from settings and they could access any app. So is there any way to prevent uninstall of a certain app and prevent it to be force-closed?

Usually these apps have options to be hidden or something. Otherwise they are useless.

Is it possible to have both a swipe lock and a pin lock? I want to have a pin lock if the phone hasn't been used or unlocked for 30 minutes and a swipe lock to avoid accidentally unlocking the phone. The pin lock is a requirement for accessing a corporate Exchange account.
It worked on my old Nexus One with CyanogenMod 7.2. But I haven't figured it out on my Nexus 4 with CyanogenMod 10.1 nightly
I'm sure this would be possible using tasker if you have any experience with that app. In fact tasker allows you to pin lock only certain applications which may come in handy for you. You should look it up if you haven't heard of it before.

I was able to set a pin lock with Tasker using Secure settings. But I'm not sure what will happen if I disable the pin lock and switch to Swipe lock a hundred times a day. Perhaps the corporate security admin will wipe my phone :silly:
Could it be solved by using another lock screen than stock?

Installing Widget Locker solved my problem :good:

Switch between swipe and pin (or pattern)
Has anyone found a possible solution?
I LOVE swipe lock, dashclock, and quick apps etc. But at work, I would prefer a pin. When I don't want the pin anymore, instead of diabling a lock screen all together, how can I set it to revert back to a swipe lock screen?

share a related thread?
I have been searching forever for a way for Tasker to realize im driving and change settings etc because Im going say 20mph (even just for a few seconds) would indicate that I am likely driving.

Here are some resources for lock screens:

Possibilities:

Thanks!
IDEA: at location 1 --> enable pin at location 2--> disable pin
A toggle as listed above for random situations like a baseball game etc.
Hi All,
I need an app which I can't seem to find.
Basically I don't want to have to enter my pattern to unlock my phone when I'm at work, So either when I'm connected to the Wifi or through GPS. Either way is okay with me. I dont even mind if i can get a widget and i can just disable/enable the pattern lock with a simple press.
I tried doing this through tasker, but i have no idea how to do it.
My phone is rooted, if that makes a difference
All help appreciated.
Thanks
anybody?
Get "Secure Settings" from play store. It has toggle for pattern and swipe lock.
How do i use it? I don't understand Tasker
Do u have Titanium Backup installed on your device??? If yes, simply freeze Keyguard app... Reboot and ure all set...

suggest a free.best and light(doest hog resources app that ask passcode when opening certain applications like messages,facebook,settings,etc?..tnx
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sp.protector.free
I like the features in this one, if you set it, you can make the app pop up a - - - - app has stopped responding screen to which you hold down OK to gain access to the password entry screen for the locked app...

So i was annoyed by mymagazine being only 1 swipe away and being accessed by the double tapping home button. So i turned off the home button setting and then then turned off my magazine. it wasnt an issue but i ended up just rooting my phone and then uninstalled all the bloat apps....including mymagazine.
Now when ever i double tap the home button my TouchWiz crashes. however, if i swipe up, it just goes to the play store and says item cannot be found.
i really hope that we get some way to swap out the my magazine for google now or something useful. anyone know a work around that doesnt involve a different launcher??

I am having the same issue - hitting home button when on my homescreen causes TouchWiz to crash. Did you ever figure anything out?
If you uninstall my magazine or freeze it, tw will fc. It's tied I to the framework of touchwiz, either use a different launcher or reinstall/unfreeze my magazine

This might be a dumb question but If i use a different launcher other than TouchWiz will the s pen functions still work? Also, playstore doesn't have MyMagazine. Do i just need to install the apk if i want to keep using touchwiz? (very new to root)
thanks
Yup will still work - you'll probably find the mymagazine.apk around somewhere

still stuck :\
When i try to install MagazineHome.apk i keep getting "Application not installed".
If i try to install it with Rom Toolbox APK installer it just says installing then goes away as if nothing happened.
I was reading on a few other threads but am quite confused. What is this term Push(ed) being thrown around.

You can push/side load via adb or cut n paste it into system apps and set correct permissions - not done it since I had my HTC one so not sure if it is different on the Note, just grab Nova launcher can customise as much as you want and have no fc and no mymagazine

Press the home button brings up a list of recent apps... simple and straightforward. However I would like to know if there is a way to disable that function or prevent specific apps from appearing in the list.
Any ideas??
It's a built in feature into Android, not (Im)possible. However you'd probably have to dog thru the code and edit it heavily.. If it'd even work that is.

Xposed Installer + App Settings module
-> find the app you want to mask in the recent apps
-> Enable modification to the app
-> Show in recents -> Disable
You can do a lot of stuff with Xposed :good:
