i am trying usb/flash disk
If the disk is formated at fat32 filesystem it will automount. If it's formated in ntfs filesystem you can try to install Stickmount and Paragon ntfs from playstore and you will be able to mount it.

Hi, I faced this issue, here how to solve this. Format your card / flash drive using fat32 format. If it still doesn't work, connect your card / flash drive to your devices and format from your phone, it'll automatic adjust the file system according to the device.
my redmi 4a mobile not supporting otg
last time it was supported after updating the mobile it's not working

Hi, I bought an otg cable from ebay for my p3110 rooted, mounting CM9 and the last metallikernel. When I connect a usb flash drive (8gb fat32), it recognizes it as a sd card and i don't know where I can find the file inside of it. I tried to browse the folder /mnt/usbdrive with file expert, but it seems always empty. I connect first the pendrive and then the cable to the tablet. HELP ME!

Try formatting the drive in FAT instead of FAT32.
Hmmm, perhaps cm9 doesn't support otg.

Actually OTG cable on cm9 worked fine for me.....yes fat32 is supported.... well i used es file explorer and went to the root of the phone. There i could find a folder called usbdisk0.
Hello.
I have Samsung Galaxy Note 3, SM-N9005 Snapdragon version.
I bought USB OTG cable from dx.com, with microUSB 3.0 for S5/Note 3.
When I connect mouse or keyboard, it works.
But when I connect USB flash drive, or external HDD it mounts, but after 3-5 seconds it un-mount.
Is there any way, fix or some xposed module to have it working?
I have rooted my phone and I am running on custom ROM (CRASH ROM v16), based on stock XXUGNG1 PDA, Ultimate Kernel v55.
Thank you for your help.
It won't mount NTFS drives. Try a usb drive on fat32. It will work.

my question is how can i make note 3 (9005) read USB flash disk? can any one help me in this problem?
Kitkat can still read flash drives. What did you do ash? You catch'em all with your pokeballs? Lol
What format is your flash drive? NTFS or FAT32?

NTFS is not supported. Please reformat it to FAT32.
NTFS can be supported through a mod though.
Android itself has never supported NTFS drives. Only Asus Tranformer devices support NTFS via third party drivers (Because of the USB port.)
Fat32 and exFAT are supported though.
FAT32 only supports files up to a maximum of 4GB. Useless for Semi-HD and Full-HD films.
exFAT supports files up to 16EB (ExaByte) (max file size in exFAT is redundant, since there aren't any drives commercially available over 5TB. Even the collective size of the entire internet is only 5EB.)
My advice, use exFAT.
I think ROM Toolbox comes with driver called Paragon NTFS, that should work with OTG USB NTFS storage, but you need to be rooted. I think this is the only alternate option to reformatting all your external storage to exfat, which may not be practical. Or do it Apple way, transfer data between 2 devices sitting next to each other, half across the globe and back using itunes, I mean cloud, like dropbox.
Thanks guys sooooo much

But how can i make my phone read ntfs?
hi, is it possible to read usb like this on nexus 4 with lollipop?
http://www.conrad.it/medias/global/ce/3000_3999/3400/3450/3453/752527_LB_00_FB.EPS_1000.jpg
Unfortunately no, USB OTG is possible with certain custom kernels, however external power must be supplied to the USB device as no power can be transferred through the nexus 4's USB port to the USB unit.
You need the following-
1. A OTG cable with external power supply
2. A custom kernel that supports OTG (Unleashed kernel does)
3. Chainfires USB stick mount app.
Hi
I am trying to use flash drive on nexus 4 I have the otg y cable and it is providing power to both flash drive and phone but the flash drive is not mounting and doesn't show anywhere on phone . And chain fire always gives this error whether flash drive is connected or not .
Any help ?
Do you have a compatible kernel?

Yes I have flashed unleashed kernel.
Have you tried freshly formatting the drive?

Yes I did formatted it couple of times and it is working fine on my laptop.
I am ordering a new otg y cable maybe the problem is with the cable.

You need to active OTG from an app like Synapse, I've manage to connect to a USB key but I've some issues with the HDD

How are you connecting hard disk to yureka? With simple usb otg adapter? If so, is the disk running/rotating?
External hard disks wont get sufficient power from yureka. You at least need to use external powered usb hub for this to work. And then if ntfs can be recognized by yureka (i think it is supported), you can achieve it.
To check if ntfs is recognized, connect ntfs formatted pen drive to yureka and check.

How's that possible?

I had moto g 1st gen before which easily mounts with usb otg cable without any power issue, so how can yureka is incapable of that which has bigger processor greater battery than moto g? [emoji15]
