Okay this has just happened for the second time and is now getting a bit funny.
If not for the Titanium backup running daily I would have gotten super pissed now.
Basically all apps are wiped, additionally these wonderful notifications occur:
- evernote reports database read/write error, then crashes
- google play services crash
- dropbox crashes
- s health crashes
- keep requests access again
- google play music requests access again
- gmail requests access again
- samsung account needs an update
Am I secretly putting my phone in water during sleep or something?

Not much more to add besides the name of each app. Deus Ex installs but not the obb files or the savegames, Asphalt8 fails completely with an error report being sent, it installed the SMS app (original, no hangouts for me) but all the messages were erased which is a huge pain in the ass. Pretty crappy considering it took hours to make because it was a full data+app backup. Some apps were indeed restored fully, but its been like a lottery.
The worst part is that at one moment after installing CM11 my google account's sync kicked off and something carbon did screwed up the process and it crashed so bad now I can't restore from my google account either!
Any ideas to solve this?
Possibly relevant information;
I'm in the UK
I updated to OTA 4.4.3 yesterday on my Nexus 4
Completely stock and un-rooted.
Running GEL
Basically woke up this morning and my phone was in an infinite loop of "Unfortunately, Google Search has stopped"
After taking quite a while on it, I uninstalled GEL and uninstalled Google Search updates, reinstalled them both. Removed all data from Google Play services and set up GEL again; exactly the same thing happened.
I also then realised that this was happening on my Nexus 7 as well, I managed to get my Nexus 4 Google Now working offline; but as soon as it reconnects it crashes.
I believe that it is picking up some rouge data from Google's servers it cannot handle then crashing, but I cannot find a way at all to remove my settings and options from my google account, I can't find any record of this happening elsewhere today but it may be that google's servers have wibbled and a lot of people are experiencing this; in the meantime though my phone is practically unusable.
OK; so I have got it back up and running by disabling GEL and Google Now; but I want my Google Now back!
I'm happy to wipe the device if it fixes it; but worried that it's on my online profile anyway, so first of all is anybody else having the same issues today and second of all is there any way online (web based) to change my Google now settings and disable cards, etc?
Stack Trace first line (seems most important)
java.lang.NullPointerException: Attempt to invoke virtual method 'int.java.util.Calendar.get(int)' on a null object reference
I've disabled calendar sync on device and deleted calendar data; but still happening..not sure if it's grabbing my calendar data from my google account?

Removed my google account, added a 2nd account and it works fine, back to my account and it's broken again. Something on my profile on google's server must be broken; but don't know how I can go about fixing that - as settings only available via Google Now, which crash!
It's fixed itself...with a lot of coaxing.
It was made worse as I had to get a train today; when it was back up and running google now was reminding me of my booked trains, which is new to me. My train home was in something like 37373733292 hours. Clicking this card made it crash! Removed the card and all good.
My Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 has Android version: 2.3.6. My phone isn't rooted.
Recently some unknown app is using my 2G packet data mysteriously. I am on a cheap internet plan, so this uses up good percentage of my data; though I can ignore it. But my phone becomes hot (~35° C) and obviously battery gets used up. The mysterious usage eats up data ranging between 4-20 MBs. I am unsure if it is random or just that I am lucky to notice this and stop it before it goes SPARTA.
To find out, I tried out various usage monitoring apps, but that none helped to find out which app uses the data. The overall usage in the monitoring app accounts to the used sum, but no signs of what app it is.
I just have Google account(with sync off for Picasa albums) and WhatsApp listed in my Accounts and sync settings. Both have been ON since the day I have this phone, but this thing is happening recently, so I cannot blame them. Also, I do not have much that'd get synced and use this lot of data.
I have disabled auto update of my phone and the Play Store apps.
Due to low internal memory, I have uninstalled all of the default app's(i.e Google Map, Talk, Mail etc) updates except Play Store.
For having a clear idea I will list down the apps whose services are ON on my phone:
WhatsApp
Rocket Player - com.jrtstudio.AnotherMusicPlayer
Assistant - com.speaktoit.assistant
Battery Solo Widget - net.maicas.android.batterys
Notification Toggle - de.j4velin.notificationToggle
DRM Content - com.sec.android.provider.drm
Software Update - com.wssyncmldm
Email - com.andoid.email - I do not use this. Never used it.
Google Services (2 processes and 3 services) - Cloud-to-Device Messaging service, NetworkLocationService, Google Message Service.
Messaging
SnsService
Time
SyncmlDS - com.smlds
Maps * 2 (dunno why, but I see 2)
Software update - com.sec.android.fotaclient
Swype
I had linked all the possible apps to their Play Store page for your convenience to know about the app if in case you didn't, the system didn't allow me to, it says I need minimum 10 posts, upon which I do agree.
I had a thought if the counter on my service provider's side is bugged, but I have seen the uplink and downlink symbols continuously lighted, I switch on my packet data and find a crazy amount of data getting accounted in my usage.
PS: I stay in Mumbai, India. I am on Aircel's GSM network.
Will be thankful if you can help me find a solution to this problem. I have tried to provide most the information that I thought would be helpful, please ask if you need more information.
Thanks for reading such big post.
none of those apps listed (if downloaded from the playstore) should cause large ammounts of data usage
Whatsapp out of all of them would most likely be the largest
If your phone is hot its most likey an app is running all the time stopping the phone from going to sleep (as long as you havent got the phone on charge as this will also stop phone sleeping)
you can use this app to see what app is stopping the phone from sleeping

All you can do is flash stock rom via odin and then re-test if you feel you have a rouge app
Hello, I'm new here.
I have a brand new galaxy s5. Running stock everything. I set up my Google account and was able to access some features, such as logging into the play store and downloading apps. However I am unable to access the Google play games feature, I also cannot sign into certain apps requiring google+. I have deleted the account and re entered my details. I have even performed a factory reset and still have no luck. I have tried putting my phone in flight mode and then back to normal and even disabling master sync and re-enabling it. How do I fix this problem. The account seems to say syncing for a very long time, everything else seems to work fine. Is this a network problem?
Problem solved
So I figured I wasn't going to receive any advice any time soon, probably because my explanation wasn't too clear but I fixed the issue. As mentioned I tried everything and factory reset and that did not work. The main issue was when I logged into some apps requiring Google+ link such as Clash of Clans, I was unable to sign into link my account. I also realised the Google Play Games app did into work, it just showed blank loading pages for tab.
So here's what I did (Android 5.0 - Galaxy S5 stock):
Go to Settings>Applications>Application Manager>All
Now go to the Google Play Games App then disable the app. This uninstalls the new version of the app that was updated 15th May 2015. Instead you are reverted back to a older version of the app, which works perfectly. Now you will be able to link your accounts requiring Google+/Google Play.
Since Google released the update quite recently, people have experienced the same issue. I am hoping a new update will be available soon so you can update to that and skip this current update and never have to worry about the bug again.
But at least with this fix you can enjoy your Google Play Games.
Which one version of Google Play Games do I have to install?
So starting off with my phone didn't go great. Wifi connection issues, and apps were downloading weird.
Got past that and updated the phone, but I have a bunch of random issues that I never usually see (I swap phones quite a bit too XD)
Player.fm (podcast app) took like 6 login attempts to stop giving errors.
Netflix took a bunch of tries, then I had to close the app to get it to sign in.
Caynax Alarm clock wouldn't restore alarm backups until I set it up to cloud sync with my other phone (usually just manually move the backup)
Col Reminder won't restore my backup whatever I do, cloud or manual resync, even tried the beta app.
Most of these resolved, but is this just a weird problem with Android Pie or is there something odd with this phone?
