I recently bought a target stylus at Best Buy for 20$ and didn't find it to be as good as I thought it would be.
I was doing some research and I stumbled across this bluetooth stylus for the galaxy tab...
http://www.geeky-gadgets.com/samsung-galaxy-tab-bluetooth-stylus-29-09-2010/
Does anyone know if this would work with our a500?
Anyone have thoughts?

Did not find the specs, you want one for capacitive screen.
the stylus is capacitive, but there are sensors om the pen as well, transmitting data via bluetooth. This is why I want to know if it works, anyone can test this?
Pretty sure you'd need some driver or other software on the tab to understand the data coming from the stylus...
could I copy the drivers from the galaxy tab? I'm no dev but I think what I want to do is possible
Sure, if you can identify what the correct files are. You'll probably need some kind of IME from the tab, too.
I wouldn't have to edit a driver? Hmmmm like I said, I'm no dev but I'm good at copy and paste! Lol
I honestly don't know. You could always try one of the custom ROM's based on the tab...
We have a rom based on the tab?? Can you point me to it?
It's in the dev section. It's quite old though, might even still be a 3.0.1 version ROM...
Sweet... Thanks for the heads up. I also realized that I do not have a samsung galaxy stylus laying around lol.....
Anybody know of anybody else with a samsung galaxy stylus wanting to help me find out if this works??
This is just a stylus with a built-in Bluetooth handsfree or vice-versa if you so prefer. So Bluetooth technology in this accessory has nothing to do with character recognition, it's just for answering calls. So don't bother.
Anyway, Samsung never released it. They have released a Bluetooth-less version.
Sucks. I figured that out haha. Hmmmmm. I'm still seeking an inexpensive way to find decent handwriting via a stylus on my a500.... Any suggestions.
I'm on that quest too. Nothing good so far... iPad has much better options. uPad, for instance... I mean, software. As fow hardware, I was using a plain $3 rubber-tip stylus with a built-in ballpoint pen from China.
What about using the SAMSUNG Galaxy Note Stylus Touch S stylus with the Pen Holder Kit?
The Galaxy Note S Pen Stylus can only be used on a Galaxy Note and, perhaps, on an HTC Flyer. The tablet has to have certain touch screen hardware to be able to recognize input from such styli.
That's a pity. All the other stylii I've found or seen have to wide a tip for me to use drawing & writing apps.

I have used the bamboo stylus, alupen and a cheapo kensignton sylus I picked up at Staples (Can with a crappy pen on the other side too!)
All three are great for taking notes and such on the tablet.
I think the Bamboo has the smallest tip if you need the finer point.
Hi guys
Do you think would be possible to port the direct stylus to other Android tablets or to other tegra tablets? I have no idea how to do it but could someone try?
It is an awesome tablet but misses a version with better and bigger screen.
Not really. pretty sure its a hardware thing, even if there is no digitizer.
Just a simple question, If I will use something like this with Galaxy S5, will it cause any kind of problems? Like overheating, damaging the battery or internal parts or anything like that or will the back cover fit properly after adding such kind of receiver?
I do have seen Samsung Back covers for wireless charging but I guess third party cases won't fit due to addition of bulk to it.
Thanks in advance.

I think, since this is made for S5, basically, it will work good at it. Or, for you just to make sure, read reviews about the product. For your own satisfaction.
Will S4 Qi adapter fit an S5?
My question is, will a S4 Qi adapter fit an S5? I've been looking at the stock Samsung S4 and S5 backplates, and the location and number of metal contacts are different. However, lots of these third-party purported S5 adapters have the same contacts as the S4.
I'm also worried that adding the adapter may mess with the water resistance. What do you guys think? I'm just impatient and don't feel like waiting for the backordered Samsung backplate (and I just bought a spigen case that may not fit).

Thank you so much for your time. --Adam
On a side note, I've found probably one of the coolest Qi charging stations I've seen. I'm buying it on Amazon as we speak.

That's something I've been worried about, as well. I'm using one of those adapters on my S4, but I think I will just get the official charging cover for the S5. One of the main reasons I'm getting the phone is for water resistance, so I don't want to find water leaking in around the camera because of the added bulk.

Hello,
I have a SM-T580 and I wonder if it's possible to use it with S-pen or another fine tip pen?
The SM-T580 and the SM-P580 have the same hardware, flasher the SM-T580 with the firmware SM-P580 could work?
Actually, the hardware isn't the same. The S-Pen version comes with 1GB more RAM, and I tried to use the S-Pen from a P-580 on a T-580, without luck :|

Thank's
The difference in RAM also exists between the SM-t550 and the SM-P550.
I do not think that the amount of RAM affects the S-PEn, or there is another hardware element that allows the use of the S-pen or it is only a software difference
The S-Pen from P-580 will not work on T-580 because it does not have the Wacom stylus technology in it however it will on any Galaxy Note smartphones. If you need the best stylus pen, you should buy the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 with S pen or wait for the new Galaxy Tab S3 with S pen to come out.

So the Wacom stylus technology is not just software ?

Correct, there probably a sensor chip that allows u to use the stylus.

No, it is a detection layer that covers the entire screen (transparent, like the capacitive layer that detects finger touches).

There is a much bigger difference than the size of the RAM. Tablets equipped with S-Pen have a special mesh screen behind the LCD screen to detect the pen's position. The T580 doesn't have that screen like the Galaxy Note tablets or some iPad models do. So, no, a fine tipped electronic stylus will NOT work with one.

Read this article to understand how the S-Pen work, then you should not expect the S-Pen to work with no S pen tablet.
http://www.androidauthority.com/break-it-down-how-does-the-s-pen-work-154435/
SM-P580 and SM-T580 almost identical except S Pen, however the firmware is not interchangeable.
Try it, Odin will fail immediately as it detect wrong firmware.

Well NONE of the answers were able to tell what to do with a SAMSUNG tab that is NOT equipped with a stylus pen by default, in order to handwrite on it.
So the question might be, if someone by mistake bought a SAMSUNG tab like SM-T585 assuming that it should be interactive with any available stylus SAMSUNG pen, then what is the model of the Stylus Pen from SAMSUNG or any other brandnames that might be compatible with his selection.

How you use the pen when tablet's LCD is not designed for it ? You cannot expect a gasoline car can run by both battery and fuel like a hybrid one.
An electromagnetic field is generated from a circuit behind the screen. The S Pen picks this up and uses it to power itself and figure out its position relative to the screen. It sends this, along with information from the S Pen button and the nib at the end, back to the Note.

Very simple answer to what he can do, trade the tablet in on one that has the HARDWARE necessary to detect an S Pen. There IS NO stylus that will work with any "T" model tablet that will produce fine enough lines for "handwriting".

the samsung universal stylus should work perfectly with this model .
Oem stylus touch screen pen for galaxy tab a 10.1 (2016) p580 & p585 {in compatibility it had the model letter t in front of the 580/585 . Running at au$10.49 on ebay right now .
The day i got my tab i was comfortably using a cheap arse "papermate inkjoy stylus" . Was old and the nub was deteriorated so i upgraded .
If you have any issues with any s pen download an app called write on pdf and it should solve compatibility .
There's the answer you want mate , all the pretentious c♡nts with their non-answers ? , these other wankers probably work for samsung sales department ???
actually, s pen works on t585.. it doesn`t work on t580 =)

No it doesn't. The S-Pen only works on Note tablets or on ones with a P instead of a T in the model number. The samsung universal stylus mentioned in the previous post is NOT an S-Pen. Check on eBay and you'll find it is a CAPACITIVE stylus which is NOT the same thing as an S-Pen. The S-Pen is a Wacom electronic stylus that requires a fine mesh screen behind the LCD to detect the pens position. Neither the T580 or T585 contain this hardware.

Sorry mate, but you are totally WRONG!!! Neither the papermate or the samsung universal sylus is an S-Pen replacement. They are both CAPACITIVE touchpens that will never give you the fine lines that an S-Pen will. Calls us all the names you want, but we know what we're talking about. YOU DON'T!!!

Agreed.
T and P versions definitely have different touch screens.
Even if you could run the P firmware on the T version it wouldn't have Spen functionality.
Can you use the S Pen from the S3 tablet on the P585?
I am keen to buy the cheaper tablet but want to get a better feeling pen than the thin S Pen that comes with the P585.
So I understand at this point that the P580 has not just a pen included but also has a layer under the screen to make it work with the S-pen. I'm wondering if I could buy a bluetooth pen and if it would work with the tablet, and how different the performance would be.

Need the make and model of what you are calling a "bluetooth pen" before that question can be answered. If you are asking if there are Pens, other than the ones from Samsung, that will work with the P580, then the answer is yes. If you are asking if there are Pens that will will work with a T580 with the fine lines of an S-Pen, then I've never heard of one other than experimental attempts.

I've just been looking around for a decent tablet and stylus combination that I could use to take notes, all the good ones I've seen are really expensive unless I just want to go the non pressure sensitive route and use a capacitive stylus with any tablet. I haven't bought anything so I don't have an exact pen I'm asking about. Are S-Pens really that good? I've never really used one let allowed compared it to a regular capacitive stylus.

Any new tablet with a Smart Pen, one that write with a line like a ballpoint pen, is going to be several hundred dollars. But you can get a used P580 on eBay for about $200. Or you can get a Galaxy Note 2014 10.1", which was originally about a $600 tablet, for under a $150. Any model Galaxy Note, is going to have an S-Pen.
