If you're using the phone on a US GSM network, you'll need to unlock the phone. If you did that previously, flashing using RSD locks the phone again.
thanks now i unlock now but condition same now my phone status show unlocked in
radiocom and DFS but emergency call only show
Is your phone's IMEI intact or did you manage to zero it?
imei ok start 9900********* any other solution ?

Hello,
I have a sprint Samsung galaxy s4 L720, unrooted on stock 4.3 baseband version L720VPUAMDC, the problem is that now it shows baseband, software version and IMEI as unknown and also it has an X up in the coverage bars so im unable to make or receive calls. I've never tried to root it or to change it's software. also on few occasions the info about IMEI and baseband comes back and I can make calls again but it just goes back to unknown after a while. also I've tried to reinstall the software and made several factory resets. I just don't know what can I do anymore.
help will be appreciated
thanks.

Really an unrooted MDC firmware?!
You haven't been getting update notices for months and months?
How long have you had the phone?
Was/is it flashed to another carrier?
How did you 're-install' the software? PC Odin? What version of Odin?

I had the same problem. To fix it I just reflash the original rom that it has with Odin. Ex.: Mine is NAE 4.4.2, so I flashed that with Odin PC.

*The only update I got was the 4.3 one.
*I have like 4 months with the phone.
*Yeah it is flashed to another carrier, I'm in a foreign country. it worked smoothly the first 2 months and a half.
*it wasn't me who re-installed the software. I had some cellphone repair shop do it.
hope this helps.
Take it back to them to fix it.

^DO THAT^ It is their responsibility. Well technically your responsibility, but have them do what ever you need them to do.

The problem is that it had the issue before they reinstalled the software they just couldn't fix it and they didn't even charge me, so I don't believe it's their fault. also I noticed that I have baseband version L720PUAMDC and Build number JSS.15.L720VPUEMK2. shouldn't these 2 be the same?

No they don't have to.
What they probably did is keep the baseband at MDC because that (or MDL) is needed for doing SIM/Carrier unlock and flashing. And they updated the ROM to a MK2 build.
Obviously they screwed the pooch somewhere.
Your best bet is reading through the few SIM unlock posts here in the forum (there are already a few and have dozens if not hundres of posts!). And using google to maybe look into your specific country/region/carrier flashing options.
Uh oh...

If you update everything via MK2 you'll get everything back...except I'm pretty sure you'll lose the unlock, unless you know how to bring your baseband back to MDC...pretty straight forward, just Odin the modem.
So basically:
1) Odin MK2 full
2) Odin MDC modem
You should have your baseband back and thus everything restored.
This will not affect your 0011 menu edits.
In worst case scenario I will do this pro bono...you just take care of the shipping fees, but you should honestly try, at the very least, the above 2 steps.
before you do anything extreme, go to mobile network settings and set your cdma subscription to nv.
hi

Hi, so basically I flashed a Jelly Bean ROM (4.3) over my KitKat ROM (4.4.2) and have since
permanently lost my signal. I've tried flashing a multitude of Modems and ROMs, yet I'm still unable to
obtain signal. My device shows emergency signal bars but that's it. When I go to assign my carrier, it comes up with some of
the major carriers here in the UK (including 3, which is my carrier) but my phone always fails to connect
and register on the network. I'm faced with the same problem when I select 'Select Automatically.'
I've been told that my problem lies with a corrupt EFS folder, but my IMEI still shows as it should (The same one on
the back of my phone.) I've tried using a different sim card but still the problem persists. When I booted up with a
different 3 sim one time, for a split second my carrier on the lock screen had changed from
'Emergency Calls Only' to '3', but changed back to the former immediately after. I'm yet to try and use a sim from a
different carrier. Any suggestions?
You cant downgrade android 4.4.2 to android 4.3 coz they use different bootloaders. You will have to flash again android 4.4.2 for recover the signal and solve ur problems :highfive:
Reflash kitkat 4.4.2 as u can not downgrade from 4.4.2 to 4.3.
Maybe the IMEI Certificate is damaged, and need repair, try *#0011#, if at the end of the list you see IMEI CERTI: FAIL then you have to take your device for repair, if show PASS then try the latest modem

I've tried flashing 4.4.2 ROMs through recovery but no progress. I've tried flashing the
official 4.4.2 ROM through Odin but still it doesn't work. Also, in Service Mode,
IMEI Certi shows as NA :/ does that mean I'd have to get it repaired?
Yep, take the phone to a repair shop, is the only way out, i say because i fix that a lot on my shop

Damn didn't want to have to get it fixed :/ do you (or anyone else for that matter) happen to know how much a repair would cost?
well on my repair shop, the cost to the client is 50$ for EFS v1 and 60$ for EFS v2, and now you have EFS v2, the cost in different country is not the same as you know, so ask for the repair prices

I "killed my phone for more than 4 hours a couple of nights ago. Long story short I was trying to do the same thing, "downgrade fro kitkat for personal reasons. The phone wouldn't boot up, and couldn't get it to go to download mode. Afternseveral tries it finally got into doenload mode and I was able to reflash with original/official kitkat, and it works just fine, the onky thing is that I keep seeing that imei certi : na status on the service mode screen and can't navigate to other screens within service mode. Im trying to sim unlock it using that method. I'm not sure that I did anything special, just try to reflash again with official kitkat and hopefully it will stick...
Wen i dial *#06# my imei is fine but Wen i dail *#0011* i also get imei /na my phone doesn't have any signal also I don't know what caused the problem cause i got the phone second hand also on 4.4 2 stock, could this be the problem y I can't get any signal at all? I also tried flashing custom roms and stock kk ROM but still no signal help please
Hi everyone, I have a huge problem in my hands and wanted some guidance from you guys.
Recently I bought the GT-I9505 in the US and then I moved back to Brazil, once I got here I got an update OTA from 4.2.2 to 4.
After this update my network signal was gone , then after some research I found out that my IMEI number is lost. When I dia *#06# it appears that the IMEI is Null. My question is , is there any way of fixing it or is my phone gone forever? If I send it to mobile phone service is it possible that they fix it?
Thanks in advance guys... This forum is incredibly helpful
i am also having the same problem, after updating from 4.2 to 4.3 imei null and baseband unknown. i will let u know if i found some thing, i am trying to fix from last month, still no luck

no still no luck, installed new os, factory reset many times, tried to restore nv ram data, but of no use.
now i am looking for someone else i9505 so that i could get backup of efs from there and than try it. what about you? what options you have tried uptill now
Ive been unable to dial out or receive calls on my note 3 since rooting it. I have tried everything I can think of to get it resolved but have been unable to do it. This is not a problem with my mobile phone provider as I have tried my friends sims and they dont work either. I have installed the stock rom and reset factory defaults but I am still unable to use it.
I will pay someone to fix this for me now as it has now gotten out of hand! I have sent it to samsung and they say the device has been rooted and will not touch it! Any help would be much appreciated!!
Many thanks
Andy
P.s. If you can fix it, I will pay!!
Did you lose your IMEI after rooting? Or can you still register on your network? Also did you trip knox by rooting your phone?
Please help. My network doesn't work on custom rom but works on official firmware.

Thanks for your reply Steven1962. The IMEI Number is still intact though I am not able to register on the network. I did trip knox when I rooted my device, I just sent it to samsung for repair and they wouldn't touch it as the knox was tripped.

So if I understand correctly you are prompted to enter your PIN after reboot but you still can't register on your network even though the PIN gets accepted?

I think if it doesn't ask for a PIN it can not really register to the network. What firmware are you on currently? What's the version of your modem?

Install Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app to get info about your device (CSC, baseband, etc...)
Then open Menu > 'Firmware Browser' to download the stock firmware for your device.
You can flash full firmware, or extract the baseband (modem.bin + NON-HLOS.bin) and flash them separately.
Hi everyone,
vndnguyen, I'll address this question to you but hopefully help the original poster too.
I ran firmware browser in the above app but neither the vodafone nor btu (does btu mean unbranded?) version match my device. My bootloader, baseband and pda all end NC2 and my csc NA4. Even on Sammobile I cannot find that.
So my question is does it matter which one I install? If I install any vodafone uk offering will I be ok? If I install any uk btu version will it just be stock minus the bloat?
I've tried a few custom roms but always seem to head back to stock so wanted to flash pure stock if that makes any sense.
