Hi everyone, I have a huge problem in my hands and wanted some guidance from you guys.
Recently I bought the GT-I9505 in the US and then I moved back to Brazil, once I got here I got an update OTA from 4.2.2 to 4.
After this update my network signal was gone , then after some research I found out that my IMEI number is lost. When I dia *#06# it appears that the IMEI is Null. My question is , is there any way of fixing it or is my phone gone forever? If I send it to mobile phone service is it possible that they fix it?

i am also having the same problem, after updating from 4.2 to 4.3 imei null and baseband unknown. i will let u know if i found some thing, i am trying to fix from last month, still no luck

no still no luck, installed new os, factory reset many times, tried to restore nv ram data, but of no use.
now i am looking for someone else i9505 so that i could get backup of efs from there and than try it. what about you? what options you have tried uptill now

after a few days I saw that my device status is custom and I saw a solution of CHAINFIRE.(STATUS_MOD_OFFICIAL.tar)
When I used it my device status become still CUSTOM, So I decided to FACTORY RESET.
WHen I RESET My Device, after reset my s4 show IMEI Null, Baseband Unknown, No signal, No wifi connection...

Not sure if this will help but try once and did u have EFS backup ? of ur phone

Go to settings / more / about us scroll down as much as possible take a screen shot and upload some one will tell u which firmware to use as in ur case I m also not very sure abt using any firmware or the one came along

some users report that it worked (i doubt since efs partition is not included in the firmware)
try it, nothing to lose.
I9500 sold in Qatar are coming from UAE (if not mistaken). to be sure connect to Kies and see what are the last (3 letters) under phone firmware. i think it is (XSG).

Thank You for the quickest REPLY.. Ok I'll try but whenever I connect with kies It won't detect any device Just CONNECTING..
And Mine one is international Version I9505. Any how THANK YOU ALL ONCE again. but is there any other way to check where this made.? without KIES?!

Hello guys.
I have a S3 i9300 that fell on water. Since then SIM cards are not recognized, IMEI is null/null and baseband is unknown, making my smartphone a simple multimedia player. I´ve been trying to find a way to fix this, can anybody tell me a way to fix this please?
Meanwhile I ordered a SIM/SD Tray replacement from Amazon but I bet that wont resolve my problem...

Unfortunately,after I flashed back to official 4.2.2 and rooted my Nexus 4, I lost my IMEI and baseband became unknown.
So now my phone can't take a phone call but wifi function is OK.
How can I get back my IMEI? Someone had the same problem before? Can someone give me the solution or links?
By the way, my phone's boot time is too long. (open 4.2.2)
The battery is used so fast. Even I turned off my phone, 1 night it used about 40%, 95%->59%
Can someone tell me it's a hardware problem or software problem?
There is no way to restore the IMEI yourself. Many people have tried on their own without success. You'll have to contact Google or lg to fix it.

Try flashing the 4.2.2 baseband/radio
Or go back to KK to see will the IMEI return

Search around XDA and Google, i think there must have been someone who managed to restore their IMEI

I have a UK i9505 which was running XXUFNB9, I rooted using CF auto root and installed PAC man rom now i have no signal to make calls or texts i have re installed the original firmware but still nothing, please help guys, i need my phone for work and its becoming a nightmare.

ITS STOCK RECOVERY AT THE MOMENT BUT WHEN I FLASHED IT WAS PHILZ TOUCH (sorry about caps)

Check that you're baseband isn't "unknow". And check if you lost the imei

Hi man. People keeps telling you to install new modem, kernel etc...but i think you have corrupted EFS folder.
I hope you backup your EFS folder before flashing ANY rom because, otherwise you will have to go to some repair shop.
Well, I don't understand a lot, but I think you could check if you didn't lost your IMEI. Go on Settings > About Device > Status and check if your IMEI still there.
If it is, I don't know what could be. You could try flash another modem or restore a backup (if you have one) with PhilZ Touch but if it isn't, that means you lost your IMEI. I remember I read about that somewhere, that there is a risk of losing IMEI when you flash a lot of ROMs.
If you have backup from your IMEI, just restore it. If you don't, I don't know what you could do, but I guess you could still do something.
One more thing: Wi-Fi works?

Thanks for the info guys its really getting to me now, i still have imei but no backup, wifi is working as is everything else except signal.
I have been having this problem over 3 months now, still not haven't been solve.... My imei and everything is in place, I tried flashing stock rom, custom rom, factory reset phone, tried almost every modem there is and still no luck, but the thing with mine is when I go into the town area I get a few signal bars certain area in town, very weird, what could really be the problem, I know it's not my network or my Sim card so what could it be

Hey rumbo76 hru, this same problem happened with my brother with note 3, but in here india, he did tha root and falsh tha rom, then he lost root, then he goes bak to stoke firmware so he lost hus signal, and IMEI shows UNKNOWN no network registered, but he search his original firmware n falsh, and he got network n imei number bak, so plzz read n search ur specific device model number n flash, you will be succeed sure.. Plzz update us... Thnks... ?

I did a soft brick a while back on the Note 3 n9005 and i sended for service and they fixed it. The imei was null/null so they putted another one. The phone is official status right now and i wanted to know if im gonna have problems if i update the phone to 5.0 via OTA. If anyone could help me.. The service told me they dont know it might have problem or it might not.. They werent much clear. If any developer can help me on this would be much apreciated. Thanks hoping on getting a clear answer soon

I tryed to downgrade it and it lost imei. But i fixed it its okay now. But i dont know whats gonna happen if i update to 5.0 lolipop cause im on kitkat. Im afraid if i might loose the imei again

Hello! everyone firstly this post is for my friend! he has a G2 d800 and accidentally his IMEI got NULL due to something unexpected he did now he is trying to resolve it but its not happening and he even tried going to service center but they said they can repair it as it is not a n india piece! so please help me guys everything working fine just his IMEI has gone to NULL and sim slot not working please help guys!

Before giving an answer we're going to need a little more information. What steps did he do prior to losing his IMEI, did he flash a custom rom, custom radio, or did it just magically vanish?

when i tried to install TWRP using AutoRec.apk nd due to different model it goes to fastboot mode to fix this i tried to flash laf.img nd aboot.img nd boot.img bt then again due to wrong model phone got hard bricked then to fix this i had to open the back cover and short circuit to points and after several different flashes of different files i recovered the phone but with null imei nd unknown baseband

I have the same problem, however EFS pro can't read from the phone. It keeps disconnecting...
