Is there a CAB that will allow us to edit the WM5/6 start menu as you can do under Windows XP. That is, I would like to order the apps listed in the start menu through drag and drop and make sub menus for them etc.

I just flashed a new rom, and am in the process of making some custom shortcuts for the start menu, in order to implement them into my programs tab on TF2d.
How does one go about changing the icons displayed by actual WM (and in turn, TF2d)? Again, I'm not talking about about UL, IFonz, Hi-nav, SPB Pocketplus, or anything that has a icon changing function already in place. If it were that cut and dried, I wouldnt be asking. The goal here to to use some of bluemetalaxe's icons to replace the generic DOS looking icons that you get when you create your own shortcut.
Could anyone here point me in the right direction? Previous searches have only netted results for the aforemention programs, and the only place you really see customized Windows Mobile icons are in cooked roms. Surely there is a way to do this without having to cook, im not in the mood to do THAT much tweaking.

Yes - this is a relatively hard topic to find & understand from this forum. But through a bit of patience, it can be done.

For icons for individual files, I sort of learned by myself (read ^ that thread first):
Select an icon from your .dll
Select a setting or program to link to
Then, simply create a .lnk file that is structured like this example [for wi-fi settings]:
1#ctlpnl cplmain.cpl,17?\Windows\custicons.dll,-186

I have gone crazy with this. I want to change the tab name from "Stocks" to something else, the name that hovers along as you slide under the large icon. I've been searching for 5 hours now and I was told 26948339_manila or the manilafull.xml - but looking at these neither one contains the word "Stocks". It has the tab order but I don't see where it has the names that correspond to what I see when sliding - I dont see the word "Stocks" in the files.
I just can't seem to find the answer anywhere. Any help would be great.
I was trying to register my Galaxy Tab on samsung website, one of the drop down menu to select month only shows 11 months. December was hidden because default font was too big. On my Nexus One I would just use the trackball to scroll to it. But on the tab I am stumped. Anyway to get to it without changing the font size to make the drop down list fit? What if I'm selecting from a drop down menu for year (DOB verification) that can have dozens of choices?
I was trying to copy some text from a web page to save as a note. I double tapped the screen on a word to get a word selected, and kept trying to drag the markers to select the text on the whole page.
I gave up after multiple tries, as the dragging would sometimes clear the selected text and end the selection. I think I just missed the little marker to select text. I just could not get it to work.
I tried looking for something to select all the text on the web page (thinking I could delete what I did not want after pasting it). But, I could not find any such option.
I am using an HTC HD2 running American Android from Aug 28.
I looked for apps, but I cannot tell from the descriptions if any actually do this, and if they did would they be good at it.
Any ideas?
