Hi
I'm having this issue since updated my stock rom to 4.4.2 roms. When I set mobile networks to GSM only it works fine but on other options like LTE, after a while antenna drops and nobody can call me!!!
I have tried so many roms and updated my modem couple of times. Now these are specifications:
Rom: Samy delux pick your king 4.2.2
Bootloader version: I9505XXUFNB8
BaseBand version: I9505XXUGNG2
PDA version : I9505XXUGNG4
I took these information from Samsung info app. Please guide me what I have to do to fix this?
thanks

Thanks. It has LTE support but I'll give it a try. No need for bootloader or modem update?

Hi,
I couldn't find anything related to this on the forum so here it goes.
I know that google has disabled LTE support in latest baseband release. And one would be able to flash the old baseband to regain LTE support. However there's many steps that one need to do to get it enabled (type in service code, change LTE setting, enter APN etc.), not to mention you also loose some enhancements/bugfixes.
So my question is that, is there any way one can build a custom ROM + modified latest baseband (4.2.2) to have default enabled LTE support directly? (means no service code change, APN change etc. and with all the possible enhancement from the baseband build)
If yes, please direct me to the post or instruction, if not, why not?
Thanks for answering!

You can just use the old baseband and have LTE on any ROM.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, as I stated in my OP, I'm well aware of the ability to use old baseband on the other ROMs to have LTE. However, I'd like to have LTE on latest baseband, and also native LTE support without fiddling with the settings.
I would like to learn how to do it if there's no one already doing it, just need some direction to the right documentation/guides or explain why its not feasible.

I don't believe the baseband software is open source. Since the LTE functionality was removed from the baseband itself, flashing a ROM is not going to restore it to the .44 baseband.

I see, that's what I'm afraid of, so I guess the best one can do is pack a .39 baseband with custom 4.2.2 ROM with default LTE configuration then? So I guess my follow up questions is how much of the LTE operation is controlled by the basedband module?
Can a ROM have LTE as Preferred Network setting?
I think its possible to have default APN configured baked into the ROM?
Hello Everyone
Last week I noticed that I cant make calls via my Nexus 4. I had fully 3G signal but when i tried to call I had "finished call" a sec later. I tried again, again and again... and finnaly I rebooted phone. After that at last I made a call, but since that I still have the same issue from time to time. I noticed that I dont need to reboot phone its enough when I just turn off the data transmission. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

radio is baseband. however you need to be more specific about the m9615a since the important information is in the numbers at the end for the exact version like 1700.48, etc
Its version 2.0.1700.48
I have read about the *#0011# trick
it doesnt work for me. I have read that you have to downgrade the modem, do the unlock and then upgrade it again.
So i have looked at my firmware at it is
Current firmware version : PDA:MEA / PHONE:MEA / CSC:ME3 (O2U)
i am rooted and have custom recovery installed, i am using touchwiz rom with quite a few customised bits in it using nova launcher too.
Kies it saying there is an update, but im not doing that just yet
to
Latest firmware version : PDA:MF8 / PHONE:MF8 / CSC:MG1 (O2U)
So i ahve look at this thread
( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025 ) with all the differnt modems.
and it says i have to downgrade to an older version but i cant see an older version that what i have.
Samsung say this is the newer version
GT-I9505 Galaxy S 4 LTE
PDA: I9505XXUBMF8
CSC: I9505O2UBMG1
MODEM: I9505XXUBMF8
Added: 2013-08-22
Can anyone / will anyone be willing to guide me through how to downgrade to an older modem, unlock and then i guess update to the newer modem? or back to the one i have now? and keep the uinlock?
I thank anyone who can help me.

can you help me find the correct one? for o2 UK s4 LTE.
and then once that is done, should i update to the newest one, which is the one above the one i am on now?
as o2 UK are switching on 4G LTE in 2 days time, i assume the new modem will allow for that?
Can that be done and not update the rom or will that be an issue?

Hi,
Go to the thread you mentioned, and in the i9505 section, look for XXUAME2
The installation instructions are there as well.
Then, yes, install the latest.
All modems work with 4g

Hi,
All that for nothing.
At least your learned how to change a modem.
Glad it all worked out for you.
Still having issues with my O2UK S4 i9505.
It was on ROM XXUBMF8 / Modem XXUBMF8 and couldn't get to the UMTS menu.
Changed to modem XXUAME2 and also tried the older XXUAMDC, both allowed me into the service mode.
In [NETWORK LOCK] menu clicking on [[1] PERSO SHA256 Info] says returns
SHA256_ENABLE_FLAG[1]
going back and clicking on [[3]PERSO SHA256 OFF] also returns
SHA256_ENABLE_FLAG[1]
going back and selecting [[3]PERSO SHA256 OFF] a second time returns
SHA256_ENABLE_FLAG[0]
SHA256_Off => Not Change
Has anyone an idea why I have to do it twice to get SHA256_ENABLE_FLAG[0]?
Going to [NV RESTORE] at this point reboots as expected, but still have network lock afterwards.
I've also tried this with native O2UK sim inserted, and with another non-O2UK sim.
I'm close to spending money on a code at this point!

Hi Guys,
I'm from Australia and recently bought an Optus Galaxy S4 4G. Strangely, the model number is i9507. I double-checked this online and usually weird model numbers are just carrier-spin-offs. So I went ahead to root and flash just like you would with an International i9505.
So far no problems - 4.3.x PA rom works absolutely fine.
BUT:
I've tried some Kit Kat roms recently and they all flash fine but give me 'mobile network not available'. Strangely though, I can receive calls/text and talk on the phone, but when I try to dial or send text messages, I can't do it. My reception bar is completely empty as well.
WiFi is totally fine, just no data and mobile network
I've tried messing with the 'network operators' setting and if i select my carrier (I have a Vodafone sim) I'll get network reception until I turn off the screen and then my mobile network becomes unavailable again
Not sure what the problem is; modem? APN? or roms not suitable for my phone?
Current info:
ROM - [ROM] KOT49H【4.4.2】 GOOGLE EDITION 4.4.2 by Danvdh, Kryten2k35 & Ktoonsez
Baseband - i9507XXUAMH2
Kernel - [email protected]oonsez-VirtualBox #1
I've been flashing for a while now but it's usually just basic stuff so you can probably tell I'm pretty amateur lol.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks =)

Hi Rich
As your baseband is quite out of sync with the firmware you are trying to run (MH2 is from 4.2.2 ,,, right?) I would suggest you change your baseband (modem) flashing an equivalent to the ROM firmware from here.
I've got yesterday the exactly same behaviour when finally and reluctantly I've added a data plan. I was running a successful low-baseband + high-firmware because was setted to "GSM Only" (try it ... will work flawless). When I've switched to LTE got what you've described in the face too . I've promptly updated my baseband and now all is fine
EDIT: please do nothing of the above described BEFORE taking a EFS backup with every tool you can find and preserving them in several highly fortified locations and 2 or 3 K7 Tapes too . Have an ODIN flashable copy of your MH2 baseband is advisable too.
Hope I've helped and please share your experience.
Nice regards.

Hey thanks for the reply! Helps heaps =)
While I still had those roms installed I did try flash a few modems within Odin, all failed though =S
Which one should I be flashing?
I believe I tried XXUFNA1 but the flash just doesn't go through
Does it make a difference which rom I flash the new modem from? I.e. flash when the new modem now or flash the new modem on the kitkat rom?
I'm currently using Pacman 4.3.1 since it's perfectly fine. Just can't wait to get on a KitKat rom though! haha

Hi Rich
Sorry, may be my fault, but quite didn't got your
You may proceed having the below as a rule of thumb:
Your baseband (modem) version should always match your ROM (firmware) version.
Failure to flash something is never good signal. As you have an i9507 (I own the 5) is very advisable to flash a modem built for your S4 flavour.
The above rule should apply to it too so, if the only modem available for the i9507 is the MH2 your firmware have to match or these issues reported will return.
Did you tested the "GSM Only" option to corroborate (or not) my hyphothesis? With this config, you should perceive no signal drops when waked. I know it isn't a viable operational mode but ... just for fun
Nice regards and keep sharing

Hi all,
First of all, I have a Samsung galaxy s4 from Canada specifically from Rogers. I have got it hardware unlocked, rooted and I am on Cyanogenmod 11.
Now to my problem, I am in the Philippines and I would frequently lose signal, if I'm lucky, it would re-aquire the signal but most of the time, my work around is to turn airplane mode on and off and it would connect back to the carrier for maybe a minute and fully lose signal again.
Any help or suggestions would really be appreciated as it is such a pain to airplane mode and off when I'm jamming to my BT speaker
Here's information about my phone:
Model: sgh-1337m
Cyanogenmod version: 11-20150309-nightly-jflte
Android version: 4.4.4
Baseband version : 1337mvluamdj
If i could help you guys, help me with my problem just let me know.
Thanks all for reading.

Hey, thanks for the reply!
I'm a little new to this, could you go in depth on how to do so. Or maybe direct me to a few links I could follow? I am not in Canada and this is my only phone, so I don't want a chance to brick it.
Thanks!
Edit: do I need a computer to reflash the modem because that is something I don't have at the moment.
Here is a modem list. It also has a guide on how to flash.
There was another thread that included the latest lollipop modems , but I can't find it anymore.
You will need Odin which means that you require a PC.
Go to sammobile.com and check what version you need for your carrier and country
