ODIN flash stock G900T ROM into G900V phone, will it brick? - Verizon Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, recently I purchased a Galaxy S5 on ebay, I intended to used it on T-Mobile network, but I got a G900V... I wonder if I can just use ODIN to put G900T ROM on it (not safestrap) to enable T-Mobile features like WiFi calling etc. Do you think it will brick the phone?
Thanks!

It wouldn't even flash. The bootloader wouldn't let you.

[Q] note3 n9008 available roms?

Hi guys, my dad is bring a n9008 back from China. It has the qualcom 800 cpu onboard. I have done alot research on this phone, and only found the guide to root and flash recovery. So my question is: is it possible to flash roms made for other variants( such as n9005) onto n9008? Since the n9008 won't support the wifi calling from TMO, i would rather put a CM or AOSP on it.

as always, you got your phone from china, get help there, in other words, if you want support, get yor phones in your own country, imagine this, you will get a warranty also, is not that amazing?, yes you save some money buying overseas, or from a no one knows about seller, but, at the end, you get no support, think abot that in the future,
Pray its not a fake

well i got the phone as a gift. so its not my choice at first place.
so far i'm able to install all of the n9005 roms(x note, omega, lidroid) and everything works flawlessly.
the tmobile rom can be installed normally, but i just cant turn on the wifi( it stucks at turning on screen)
anyone got a solution to that?
Now you can install a CM11 ROM!
I too have been given a GN3 as a gift but it's the N9008 model.
I tried flashing the latest N9005 KK stock firmware, but I had no luck.
Do you know if there's a possibility of "changing" the model to a N9005? Hardware wise I believe they are exactly the same?
I imagine LTE is also not on this particular model? Am I correct to say that all Snapdragons are capable of having LTE? Would it be the firmware that "enables" LTE?
I don't really want to be on the Chinese firmware.
I've rooted the device and got gapps on their, but I'd rather a proper international firmware.
If anybody can help, it'd be great.

No, you can't flash a N900A rom on a N900P! You'll brick your phone.

It's a Frankenstein. An AT&T I337 with the IMEI of an I9505. Someone changed the IMEI before selling it, likely because the original IMEI was blacklisted.
its basically a korean convert your phone might be i337 but the best way is to go to download mode and check it there. model number on download mode is always real.

I checked in dwld mode its sgh i337....can I install back stock firmware ...see this sitehttp://www.att.com/esupport/softwareUpdateArticle.jsp?sid=KB419415&cv=820
If it's an AT&T device then you can install an AT&T ROM on it. However, doing so nets you a locked bootloader for your trouble. Install a custom ROM if you can, and don't look back.

of course you can install official sgh i337 firmware. just find official firmware from sam mobile or samsung updates and download them to your phone via odin. it will fresh start your phone on atnt official firmware but i suggest you to do some research over it before attempting any thing. in your case i see that your phone came with pre rooted firmware to change build.prop to make it look like 9505. i am in pakistan and this is very common here i was fooled for 9500 but it was sph l720 sprint model. best of luck with your update

you mean that I should keep using custom roms and no matter whether baseband is of i337 ....If I want to download a 5.0.1 then I will download any rom and flash through odin using pda file just....it will not chnge my baseband..
Finally I got it....its i337...I checked imei on imei.info it says it is i337 and also checked for blacklist its all clean....and I opened back cover and see it and its written "MADE BY SAMAUNG" ...spelling of samsung is wrong ...it means sticker and software are of 9505 and hardware are i337 at & t usa carrier....I think its changed in korea...phone is converted....now planning to download stock firmware of i337 lollipop and install through odin....
if anyone have link to i337 lolipop plz share
If you install a stock ROM via Odin, the bootloader will be changed, but as long as it's not an AT&T or Verizon ROM you won't suffer any ill effects. If you install an AT&T ROM there's no going back. Unlike every other country on the planet, here in the US AT&T and Verizon encrypt the device's bootloader, because they don't want you rooting the device and bypassing their bloatware and their restrictions. So, since you happen to be in a position where you have an AT&T S4 that doesn't have a locked bootloader, you want to install a custom ROM.
If you have ignored my advice and installed a stock AT&T ROM, you'll need to head over to http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att and use the information there to root. Honestly, now that you know your S4 is an AT&T model, you should head over there anyway.

I tried warning you but you plowed ahead anyway. The stock ROM you put on the phone is basically untouchable, because of the locked bootloader, so you now have two options: use the phone as is, or use the information in the AT&T S4 forums to install SafeStrap recovery and from there flash a custom ROM.

No, because it won't work. I tried flashing an AT&T modem to my I9505 when trying to add LTE frequencies to my device. The phone rejected the modem, but it didn't harm my I9505 either.

It could be because I didn't use Odin when trying to flash in that instance. Under ordinary circumstances you shouldn't be able to flash I9505 firmware on an I337. Regardless, you can try to flash the I9505 modem using Odin, but the results at best will be unpredictable. It certainly won't change the LTE bands on the phone as those can apparently only be changed with tools we don't have.

SM-G928A Debranding Question

Hello all. I am new to the world of android and would like some assistance with a topic - flashing stock firmware.
I bought an AT&T S6 Edge+ outright and absolutely love the phone. Except that it's filled with all sorts of AT&T apps and certain functionalities of the phone is disabled. I researched the topic of flashing the firmware to another region/carrier's stock firmware and it seems that this is a possible route to "debranding" the phone. However I also learned that AT&T locks the boot loader. Will this have any impact on me flashing the ROM with another firmware for this model?
Thanks for all the advice and patience!:good:

Not possible
Device specific firmware is on carrier devices so if you try to put kor or T-Mobile or whatever on one the american s6 or edge then I believe its the bricks for you...I also believe if you have a clean imei the carrier will unlock it for you don't hurt to try ..the story is you may have to be on their network activated and also if you purchased through the payment option after its paid off it can be unlocked ..debranded whatever

Do what I done, Sell the phone on Swappa, Ebay, Amazon or Craigslist & purchase
an international version of the S6 Edge+ or any other Samsung International phone.
They all come factory unlocked and very easy to root.
The only feature the T-Mobile users will no longer have
is the wifi calling. Being rooted is an excellent trade-off
for the wifi calling feature unless you live in the middle
of no-where. LOL
All the other features work just as good in all the
international phones as with the branded phones.
Good luck and have a great evening!

Hello everyone
So i got AT&T note4 SM-N910A on a good deal about 135$ yesterday and its unlocked running on android 5.0.1 lollipop i just want to flash 6.0.1 marshmallow stock via ODIN but i afraid if i flash another stock rom it will get network locked and i know deep down so far this thing is not rootable. so please anyone know exactly is it safe to upgrade from 5.0.1 to 6.0.1 without messing anything up because its running a modified firmware with lot of languages included and all blotware/bootanimation/tethering hotspot unlocked etc from AT&T removed.
Here are some screenshots to help understand the device i got.
TIA
EDIT-I FLASHED STOCK 6.0.1 AND EVERYTHING WORKS FINE

Yes indeed odin is harmless but my only concern was sim network lock because i have usa AT&T note 4 and i live outside usa .
previously i had sprint note 4 and i flashed stock via odin and it got network locked it was showing "invalid sim" but this doesn't happens with Tmobile/verizon/AT&T thankfully .
thats y i thought better to ask and take advice in xda.

Now that you mention it, I did get that error on my T-Mobile Note 3 a while ago. I upgraded to the latest version via Odin (I also live outside the US) and the phone is unlocked, but I kept getting invalid T-Mobile SIM inserted and didn't get any data.
Fortunately, my plan wasn't to go back to stock, only to test GPS (Google Maps) on stock. After that, I went immediately to a custom ROM and did not get that error any more.
Hope you don't get it xD
Good day :good:
