Ok, so my A3000-H (16 gb) has got the boot freeze for some reason after I ran out of battery during playing some game, it never turned on or show the charging battery screen since, I used CWM to flash TWRP (I thought this may work) but all it did that I lost the recovery too, and now choosing the recovery from the fast boot menu only restarts the device.
so all I can access now is the fastboot menu! how can I recover my data on sdcard? i need them badly!
/**************************************************************************/
////// Update: problem fixed!
I used SP flash tool to flash the rom from this post, I made sure to uncheck the last image (the userdata one)
I waited, started the device,
bingo! it passed the lenovo bootlogo I've been prisoned with since 3 weeks ago!
I held out my breath -literally- for data saving part..
it started "upgrading applications" like whats happened when I clean the cache.. it's 190 applications, my number of installed applications not the stock number!
system fully booted...
I fired my ES explorer to check my sdcard...
Voila! I'm saved!

You can try flashing CWM again, using flash tool. But I believe you have a big problem there if you want to save your data that is on the internal memory. I had this problem, too. I completely discharged the battery and when I went on to charge it, nothing happened, the screen just stayed black. I could not recover it without completely reinstalling the ROM.

flashing CWM is no good in my condition, I always recieve a "fastboot partition 'recovery' not support flash)" massage on the device side, and the flash tool says the the partition and recovery are "not the same size" or something similar
will flashing certain img files from the rom (like recovery or boot or something else) can save me? I tried both boot and recovery with no luck..
I just hope the data on the internal storage are not that important.. but unfortunatly it is
..and just today Lenovo mails me about Reachit service!
I can't reach it, Lenovo!
breaking news: I've managed to bring it back online with no data loss!
details in the first post update, if this helped you too click thanks
I have the same problem but don't know what to do
when i open my tab it stops on the splash screen with the Lenovo logo and doesn't complete its booting . I found some solutions that said Hard Reset, but how to get my data before doing this step ??

Hi all!
Here is a little problem that i didn't solved.
i have a N910F Note 4 that likes to boot loop . I received it as it is and don't know what caused it(i suppose that was a rooting issue because had the knox value 1)
During the all time, PC and MAC were unable to recognize the Note 4, despite of repeatedly reinstalled drivers(older and newer versions) , Keys and Smart Switch were unable to recognize the device, PC is failing to install the MTP driver for some reason. I changed the USB ports, restarted, updated drivers, updated windows etc. -NO RESULT. BUT : Somehow Keys is able to run recovery and initialization and install it on the device while saying Connecting device... , phone also doesn't appear in device manager or file explorer as external drive.NOTHING! Odin and Jodin says ''added!'' and starts the job with no comments
1. I tried different versions of boot loaders with different versions of ROM (all for my specific model) with no result.
The end of the boot is when Samsung logo ,sound and graphic appears but freezes before actually starting OS, then restarts. IT keeps restarting until battery goes off(even while connected to pc by usb!!! ). Then starts to charge the battery normally.
It boots in recovery and download mode with no problems, it did every time i flashed it…
2. I tried different versions of boot loaders with stock roms , custom kernels etc...and the problem was the same
3. I tried to flash with Odin the stock 4.4.4 without problems but….the problem was the same
4.I tried Device recovery and initialization with Keys and here something interesting happened:
First time when i did it, it went over the samsung logo and booted. I selected language,i skipped wifi network selection and i accepted the user agreement. No matter how fast i was moving, the boot loop didn't went over the user name selection which is after the user agreement. Then freeze and boot again.
Second time when recovered with Keys (tried more stuff in the mean time) it went over the logo and started to update like…''updating applications 2of 17'' the max reach point was ''3 apps of 17'' and then freeze and reboot
I am out of ideas so i suspect that the battery might be dead because it gets empty even if is charging while phone is ''boot looping''. I ordered a battery, should arrive soon.
If that don't work…i am gonna spend some cash and sent it to Samsung for repairs (i bet that it won't be cheap because they will probably tell me that is the motherboard fried so they make you pay for being a bad boy and tried to root). Far as i know is not a brick as long as download mode and recovery works just fine.
Is here someone that has any new ideas for bringing this phone to life? Any help is well received , maybe i skipped something….
Thank you in advance.
Boot into recovery and perform a factory reset, it will wipe the internal storage.

Uninstall Kies, and install Samsung USB drivers: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347849220
Take the battery out, leave it for approximately 10 seconds, enter the battery back in.
Hold volume down key + Home key and power on the device.
Then plug the mobile phone into the computer.
Run Odin as Admin: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347851815
Then flash the firmware in the AP section.
Make sure that the firmware is for your region, you can download it from Sammobile or SamFirm.
i have the same problem, but mine doesn't let the samsung logo finish when it shows the letter S on samsung logo it goes restart again no sound or anything, recovery is accesible, download mode is also accessible, i can flash official firmware and factory reset but nothing change, still stuck in bootloop no one here in xda knows how to fix it i think.. or they just never encounter something like this
i know how to fix an ordinary bootloops or soft bricked.. but this one is different.. i think there's something with note 4 that causes this..

Yes, it doesn't go after the Samsung graphics , mine does sound. Goes to app updates only after Kies recovery but doesn't go more far than updating apps 3/17 for ex…crushes there and starts over….weird.
One time i managed to actually go to setup menu, choose country, wifi, device name, and there crushed and started over…. So i am thinking now that the battery might be wasted because i saw posts saying that after the 5.0.1 update many Note 4's went to boot loop and the battery change solved the problem. Now i have new battery coming by post.
Hi I had a similar problem but I do not know if that works but always worth a try
1. download recovery - "twrp-2.8.1.0-trltexx"(.tar) cant post link fresh in forum
2. flash recovery through Odin (AP) ( run as administrator)
3. unplug the cable
4. Reboot to Recovery (home+power+wolume up)
5. Then go to Wipe/Advanced Wipe/check the boxes - Dalvik Cache,System,Data,Cache and Swipe to Wipe
6. Reboot to Download Mode
7. Open Odin ( run as administrator) choise the rom to flash
8 Connect the phone
7. Flash Your Stock Rom
8. Reboot
always in Odin load the file first to flash and then connect the phone
sorry for my English

nah it doesnt work thats the first thing I do, that only work on ordinary bootloop
I was stuck in a boot loop the other day trying to flash a stock ROM to get rid of encryption. I tried all the stuff mentioned in this thread which is just standard procedure but I couldn't get past the samsung logo. What it turned out to be was that you need to go to stock recovery after flashing the stock ROM via odin and do a factory data reset then it will boot to the OS. It worked in my case, maybe you can give it a try.

if you read the above post you will know that we already wipe and factory reset,
btw since i was not able to fix it, it brought it to samsung service center and they also cant fix it so they are changing the motherboard, so far they are not charging me anything and just asking to bring my receipt of purchase so it will be under warranty

I read the post; however, it did not appear as though you did a factory reset after flashing the stock ROM only before. At any rate at least you're getting a new mobo out of it and problem solved.

yes thats the good thing and its under warranty even though im already rooted, with knox 01 and custom binary haha, i was already expecting to pay a huge amount of money but they said they will cover it, so its a blessing, but i hope the OP fixed his problem.
hi all . so i was on aurora 4.1 . clean install etc and all was fine. then one day phone decided to restart itself. at first it wouldnt boot past samsung logo. then i went into reocvery and changed kernel from h vitamin to ram kernel v1 . and cleared dalvik etc. phone booted fine. then earlier was charging phone at home (official charger) . went ot check phone about 20 mins after and no response. even tried removing battery waiting 10 mins then power on nothing. no vibrate no light. so i realised somehow the phone had hard bricked itself. so started googling about for a solution. found this thread which lets me enter download mode at least. and if i follow the complete guide i can actually boot to setup screen and phone works. only problem is the external sd card only shows 76 mb free as its still partition form before. here is the link for reference http://pastebin(dot)com/7KQxRRNF remove dot and replace with .
right so what i want to know is how do i set boot to emmc so i can actually reformat that sd card so i can use it normally? i tried to install cf root via odin. it flashed fine but when it came to booting phone it wouldnt go past the black screen (that only says kernel in yellow at the top left) . left it on for about 20 mins and it was still on that screen. tried to boot into recovery and it totally messed up and said writing tf flash xxxsectors . then i was only able to boot to that screen no matter what i tried. so had to go reformat card again and re apply steps from that link.
so is there a solution so i can boot my phone normally again then root it and installl custom roms?
im stumped as to why this all even happened as i dont use xposed. and i hadnt changed anything once i installed aurora 4.1 .
phone = n910f .
now bootlooping
now bootloop
after trying to get into recovery it now loops and shows this message
boot recovery mode (in green)
check boot partitions
copy from t-flash
boot recovery
write 54464 sectors..
reboot
even if i remove battery wait put it back in and try boot into download that same set of messages come up and keep looping. anyone know wtf is going on lol
Have you referred this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3488114
It also gives the same steps as the paste.bin site.
If you want to repartition your sd card, then you might have to use the EPM.
You can find all that you need, in the thread mentioned above.

Yesterday I accidentally installed the OTA update. I got stuck in TWRP and flashed a new ROM. Phone booted up fine, but now I have no cellular signal, nothing that uses video or sound works. Camera doesn't work, flashlight doesn't work.
I tried several different ROMS and nothing changes. Even the system sounds, ringtones and so on do not work. Anyone have any idea what I can do? Thanks
boot into fastboot
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase misc
fastboot erase fota
fastboot erase boot
then pull battery and reboot into twrp by holding power and vol down, when lg logo appears then click the power button and re-hold it down to get into twrp.
once in twrp, check and see if system is mounted, if it wont let you mount, go to wipe and wipe everything (not ur sd of course)
System, cache, dalvik, data, internal, everything... the fastboot should have already done this but let twrp do it too..
once done, use the format option and format data also, some of these may error thats okay, just keep going..
once done reflash the full rom that matches your device.. let it flash and reboot and do its thing. this should fix the issues...
once it boots you may need to let it activate, or re-activate.
Only other suggestion would be if you have a twrp backup and you backed up your efs, its time to restore it also and see if the NV files have been damaged.
I've tried installing several different roms available on xda but that didn't resolve the issue. My phone remains in a boot loop state. Is there a way I can return to stock without compromising my ability to use the current root exploits?
Might help to know what you've got currently, are you able to get to recovery at all, etc?
I could get into TWRP with no problem, I could flash any rom, but all would give me the same issues, no sounds, no flashlight, no cell signal. I think the OTA update messed something up. I ended up putting the phone back to stock, locking the bootloader and exchanging the phone for a new one. I got my new one today, it's on 10d, just tried to root it the same way as the last time and it keeps failing. I get the same problem as the guy on this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/development/helpt-easyrecowvery-t3543873
My Solution
[MY FIX]
this post contains my working solution to the problem.
my problem is...
I accidentally clicked on 'install OTA update' on a rooted lg v20 t-mobile. A second after clicking it I realized that was the wrong button to press. AND so the start of the endless TWRP boot loop that allowed me to access TWRP to perform multiple tasks but couldn't boot back into my system UI where I can make phone calls.
I had this problem and spent days trying to figure how to get it back.
my solution is...
I tried everything to delete the *fota* and *misc* folders with fastboot; however none of the methods worked, until I tried the methods suggested in step#1 in "Stuck in a endless boot loop to twrp " in https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/development/rom-ls997-stock-debloated-su-goodies-t3531923.
So after deleting *fota* and *misc*, I had to exit the bootloop by 'reset all data option' by pressing YES twice. You read that right, you will have to agree to reset all user data by clicking YES twice. THO the effect will NOT reset all your data; it will just kick you out of TWRP recovery mode. I was pleasantly surprised to still have my data.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDq0qMbgjL4 That video shows as proof that it doesn't break things and also how to get into TWRP. You can also use the same methods to get out of TWRP.
Here's the text version:
1. hold volume down and power.
2. when lg logo shows up click power and re hold it while still holding vol down.
3. if you do it right in about 4 seconds or so it will boot to a menu, choose yes both times and you'll be back in (or out of) twrp. (yes you read that right!, don't worry you wont lose your data)
Hope this works for you as it did for me. I'm only posting because I didn't find a comprehensive solution post.

This fixed my issue. Thank you so much!
For further clarification, I had to delete all these folders that existed (I didn't have them all) using TWRP file manager. Make sure system is mounted. :
/fota
/misc
/data/fota
/cache/fota
/data/misc
/etc/fota
/system/etc/fota
Powered off after that, and then I manually booted into TWRP using the buttons method and hit reboot system and all was fixed.

Don't use Easy Recowvery. Do it manually from the original thread. You can also google it for some sites that have cleaned the instructions up for easier reading.
I just did a H918 10d like this.
Hello Fellows,
First I'd like to explain my situation in details.
my phone fell while i was walking on the street and it got some dirt on it, so ( foolishly ) I decided to clean it.... and yeah... i washed my phone like washing a dish... i like rinsed the phone in water and in other cleaning liquids for no more than 3 seconds it was all quick thingy... anyway after washing it.... i directly powered it ON and it powered but the screen was OFF ( so i decided to power it OFF, solder it and to remove any clues of water inside on the board or something... after that i used a hairdryer ( which is not recommended ) but i used it at a descent distance so that no harm would be caused to the board... as i was only subjecting air to let water if any existed to dry..
i put the phone in rise and kept it for 1 day... after 1 day i wanted to check out how stuff went.. so i powered it ON and the screen actually turned ON and the vibrator, even the hardware back-light lighted up perfectly but here's the problem I'm facing.
the phone only boots into TWRP 3.1.0.0 no matter what i do.. things i tried:
1- flashed some ROM, through TWRP
2- used "Fixed Contexts" in TWRP
3- Repair File System "System partition" through TWRP
4- used file manager inside TWRP and checked if the internal storage is working and indeed i can show all my files, through TWRP
5- also used the file manager to access "System" Partition and everything was there, through TWRP
6- change File System into EXT4 "System partition" through TWRP
7- Resize File System "System partition" through TWRP
8- Wiping all Partitions "Excluding the internal storage"
and NON WORKED..
note that whenever i attempt to flash a ROM the result shows successful with no errors ..
so whats the problem in here?
i have a guess but i need help in order to apply it.. i think the VOL- is pressed and stuck somehow Electrically on the board ( but no physically as i can press the volume down and hear its tap or whatever you call it.. i even managed to boot into fast-boot and it worked.
is there anyway i can disable the vol- button temporary to see if its causing the problem?
the only thing is i cant see my ROM booting... not even the boot animation showing... just the boot-loader and automatically it goes into the recovery
also i have kernel log attached below followed by the recovery log
EDIT: i also forgot to mention that my PC recognize the phone and i have access to my internal storage.. no problems with transfer speed as well
after tons of attempts and searching online and flashing stuff and blablabla... (i flashed every recovery image op2 support )
FINALLY
I found the solution my self, and everything is back to normal...
the phone was stuck at the early stage of the booting process and maybe couldn't find the boot image in order to boot up the android OS, so all i did was i plugged in the phone into the PC, i started everything in fastboot mode on phone and on PC then i just sent the following command to my phone.
Code:
fastboot continue
fastboot then(meaning after the command) wasnt able to recognize the phone anymore so i knew that its now trying to search for partitions other than recovery.. i waited like 10 seconds and booom it booted into the best ROM i've ever used ( and actually missed ) which is Official RR from our great maintainer "nicesoni_ash"
P.S: the vol- as i said was really stuck and i noticed it not working while on RR ROM, so i just clicked it many times and tried mixing vol+ with vol- .. after many many attempts vol- worked and i then rebooted to make sure if everything is back to normal and no recovery auto boots and indeed it smoothly booted up
thanks a lot for all who tried to help out in here or on oneplus forums :highfive:

Did you try reverting to stock ?
Try getting files from here..
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/general/rom-mirrors-official-oxygen-os-roms-ota-t3209863
I would consider it as bricked, after all attempts failed and go with the unbrick guide here on xda or oneplus forums, maybe this way it can be ressurected.
You probably have already backed up your data..
Damn, that hurts..

hello bro, i updated a magisk module v4android and when i reboot, it boots up in twrp. and since then it keeps booting into twrp. So, i used fastboot continue and when it boot int the home i deleted that module.
but fastboot continue only works once. After that if i switch-off and switch-on the phone, it goes into twrp. it needs fastboot continue everytime.
please provide me a permanent solution. few other users are facing this too. plz reply i'm waiting.
Hey,
with the help of some others in a Discord server (thanks @thesanjayp#6251 on discord) i managed to find the issue. Appearantly there was a change in /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/misc for some reason. There was a similar problem on the old LG Optimus G Pro which i owned, so i remembered this.
As I'm not sure if we can just wipe the partition or not, i got a working misc.img attached.
In any terminal (adb shell, twrp terminal or an terminal app in a rom) make sure you have su rights, and then execute the following command:
Code:
dd if=/path/to/misc.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/misc
Make sure to adapt the path to the misc.img though to the location you saved it to.
The misc.img I used is attached to this post.
PS: Im not responsible for any broken phones if this didnt work for you.
Hi!
I used my S7 Edge for a couple of years and now I am afraid it may have died on me. As always, backups of f.e. pictures are not up to date.
During the night, it lay on my Qi charger. When I took it in hand, the screen was extremely dark and stuck in the "loading Lineage" screen. I tried to reboot. It was stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy" screen.
I wanted to boot into recovery and wipe the cache and see if it works again. But I can't boot into recovery mode. No matter if I connect it to a USB cable, the button command does not work.
Switching the device off also isn't possible. The only way to switch it off is disconnecting the battery (I have opened it to do so).
The only thing I can do is booting into download mode (so I know my volume up button works...).
Several times the screen was stuck on the "empty battery" symbol - which did not change no matter how long I had it in the charger. I can't really replicate how I got to the battery screen. I installed another battery just to see if if by some magic this would change something, but nothing changed about my issue. No boot possible and no booting into recovery.
I thought to myself: Well, maybe if I reinstall TWRP I can get into Recovery again. But when I try Odin I get the error message: "there is no PIT partition"
I know you will want additional info:
sadly, I cant' say which version of lineage I had running. I would have to look into my phone - which I can't.
I installed Lineage a couple of years ago, the phone was rooted and had TWRP recovery. I changed my USB port and Audio port several months ago.
But everything was running fine - I did not change or do anything recently. It happened overnight.
Do you have any ideas what I can do? I am brooding for two days now over this issue and I am at the end of the line here.
Did my memory just die on me? Is it an unfixable hardware issue?
Or software-related and potentially salvageable?
thanks in advance for anybody that bothers with my problem.

Hi, try to flash the stock firmware otherwise I really don't know :/
I guess I will lose my data when I install stock firmware, don't I?
What I ask myself is: Is the reason for not being able to boot into recovery that my device always thinks my battery is empty?
Is the fact that I can boot into download mode a sign that my memory and/or motherboard is still intact?

Are you using Lineage OS? If yes, then definitely yes. On my Xiaomi, I couldn't get into fastboot mode or into recovery, I don't know why and somehow I got there, I don't even know how I think I held the power mode for a long time and when the phone turned on I held the volume up button to get into recovery finally succeeded on the umpteenth attempt and from recovery I restarted the phone in fastboot mode and flashed the stock firmware. And yes, being able to boot your phone into fastboot is a good sign. It would be worse if it wasn't possible.
I am still stuck with the problem. I can boot into download mode. I can't find a way to boot into recovery.
Is there anything I can do in download mode?
If I find the lineage version I originally installed on my device, could I install it via ODIN and get my phone back without data loss? I have only ever installed ROMs via TWRP.
Just an idea, but as of now I get the error "could not find PIT partition" anyway while trying to reinstall TWRP.

Yes, you can use download mode to install the firmware via Odin. Look
That means giving up hope for my personal data...
But even if I want to do this, I run into the problem, that I can't install anything due to "could not find PIT partition"...
