I see there are a lot of homescreens and skins for the WM platform...but one thing that I'm really missing is some interfaces\apps for creating and sending SMS\MMS that are better suited for finger typing...since it all about touch on some devices...like my on Polaris
Does anyone know of something like that?
From what i gather sms\mms\email are all baked in to the outlook app on my device, but are there any better apps out there?
To faster create a new sms or mms, I use the HTC action screen.

The PocketCM contactmanager has a built-in SMS function. SMS history is shown threaded, MSN like. It does however have issues with several SIP panels, in my experience.
Just open PocketCM, scroll to a contact, select the contact and then select SMS to get in the messaging screen. The space in the bottom of the screen is for typing a new message. Four fingerfriendly clicks and you're typing away.
HOW CAN I SETUP THE HTC action screen. ?
THANKS
I've found the Cab on this topic.

thanks my friend

only found it on my xperia - looks like your gunna have to buy it though - will try and download in a sec
IMO these are useless rubbish. One Panel for every language... Doesn't make sense at all.
I haven't seen an all in one translator, maybe because the interface would get too complicated?
Also, how often do you find yourself translating more than 1 language of a kind extensively?
It looks new to me
Came across w0lfs translater (in dev and hacking) - it's a client of 43kb and sends requests to Google's translator (which supports LOTS of languages).
Plus it's free, and you don't have to go through the slow change panels process to get to it.

On the other hand it is better to have a translator to a specific language that doesn't need data connection when abroad. In that case all you need is quick translation.
there on the main site now
Hey all,
Do we have any more information regarding an update for Facebook for Android? I am fed up as I think everyone is of people targeting iPhones for developing etc.
My HTC Desire is perfectly capable of running FB Chat and FB Places so I think its stupid that Facebook wouldn't give us an upgrade.
Just wondering, thats all. Ta Guys
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. iPhones are preferred for no reason, Facebook Places has been out for quite some time now, and we can all use the HTML5 based touch.facebook.com. However, the Facebook application for Android keeps being the same lame old duck as always.
I've been writing reviews, complaining, participating on discussions on Facebook and several other locations, but nothing happens. It is ridiculous that I now have to open my browser and use touch.facebook.com everytime.
But whatever
you can use the fb touch site for fb places

Thanks for posting this. I was looking through it and discovered how to only show existing contacts with facebook integration. It is under settings, applications, people, then you will see the option.

Yes! Thanks for the link and the post.
Thanks, I've added it to the wiki

and want to remove it.
Go to
Settings -> Keyboard -> Keyboard Languages -> Remove check marks from everything except one language. (e.g. Check "English Only")
Definitely enjoyed the extra spacebar room, and did not get tired of accidentally turning my keyboard into French mode. Dunno how it is for AT&T customers, but if you'd like to add the "EN" button and the ability to change languages on the fly just do what I said in reverse (Check more than one language)
I have found a little unconvenient thing on Android. Do you like to use virtual keyboard? I hate it. I'm blind writer on my laptop qwerty keyboard but the flat screen kb is minus 10 years.
The situation worst when you have to type words twice or more. Especially when you are searching something but you mess up one caracter.

In the search history you can see your previous (messed up) word but there is no possibility to edit them because when you click on it, your browser start to search it again.
On a desktop browser you can modify anithing in the borwser (or search) history list. Android should have this feature as well.
My theory solution is:
When you press and hold your tap on the search history item, the string moves to the search bar and you are able to modify it. And a simple click just search it just before.
Am I the only one who miss this?
I agree, I have this problem on market. Even if there is what you want on the search history with a small mistake or 2 words with no space, you cant edit it. Its realy annoing.
